Could be you need a fuel regulator as by the sounds of it your pump has to much pressure. Should be no more than 6Psi. Or install another pump thats more suitable. Regards: Alan.

Hey Stevo, got a couple of brand new bump stops spare to my needs. Send a PM mate . Can you cancel your order out with the Slacks Creek guy, I think I can do a lot better for you than that down here in Sydney if you like. No probs for me. Regards: Alan. -
Simon, I 'm sure its for a 2+2 which are dfrnt to the two seater as you probably know. Craig, have a pr of 260Z 2+2 seat units & a center consul in which you would need to replace the metal centre plate that indctes what gear your in as existing plate is a bit worse for wear. I'm down your way next wed. If your interested give me a buzz at home. You've got my PH no. Regards: Alan.

Hey Matt, what date do you have the Big Pow Wow on, as just read the blog on fellas working on Simon's (May GZ) 240 on the 14th/15th May. If brother Loui is going down there I might be able to bribe him with some liquid refreshments perchance to bring it back with him via Scoota of course. Regards : Alan. -

Just out of curiosity have you checked that both carbie pistons fall in unison, to check this out remove air clnrs lift pistons with fingers & release pistons at the same time, they should reach bottom same time .Check that you have equal amounts of 20Gde oil in piston wells about 11mm below top.If you want quicker response from carbs thru rev range use ATF but you will use a little bit more go juice. Regards: Alan.

Had HS2's fitted to my L28 motor & found that the rear one was always prone to flooding with fire being a big chance, HIF6's were recommended to me by Carbie Specialist . Bought a pair on Ebay fitted new gskts & needles ,etc. Fitted & tuned them with no probs & are running great. Will probably be adding another one to them.(Triple's) . Regards: Alan.

How long has the car been left standing for with fuel n the lines. Had a similar problem when my Zed was left standing for bout two years & the fuel blocked & rusted out lines from the inside. Have you dicnctd the lines at the back so that you can compress air each one independently from the other ,establishes for sure that problem is elsewhere.Check fuel filter then finally pull the tank out & do it properly. You can then give the tank a good flushing out, then let it dry for a couple of days. Had no probs with mine since although I did make up all new fuel lines. Grate fun. Regards: Alan.

Suggest you get two vacuum gauges. Disconnect your vacuum advance link to dizzy & hook gauges up to your carbie's. Tune to matching readings & voila!!. Cost me $24 ea on Ebay for vacuum units well worth the money saves a lot of guess work. Regards : Alan.

Mate suggest you sort your carbie's out first . Would liken it to having your shoe's on ass about & trying to run in them. Ok while your standing still if you get my drift. Then go from there. Regards: Alan.

At present have twin 1.3/4" HIFS 6 carb's fitted these were mainly fitted to Rovers .Am thinking about fitting triple of the same carb's once I gain my RWC. Wondering where I might be able to obtain manifold & xtra carb in the meantime & also what main jets to run. Regards: Alan.

Would like to point out from my view point that "Zeds" are a one of a kind vehicle that given the year it was produced to take on the American market namely the Corvette it more than succeeded this imagination, it was also successful in prevailing in the 24hrs Le Mons classic.. This car also could outperform Porche's & many other vehicles that were supposedly far superior. I love the fact that they look like a poor mans version of the "E Type Jag" but look so much better. At least Albert got something right but then again BMWs aren't to bad. Regards: Alan.

240z carb sync ignition timing disaster NEED HELP :(
zeds4ever replied to greylandimports's topic in Engine
You don't mention bout changing the COIL to a 280z unit ,260Z not suitable. Would suggest you check the vacuum unit in your DIZZY if this is not functioning properly it will cause similar problem. Suggest you check these out before doing anything. Check your carb pistons are in sync, to do this remove air filters units. Raise pistons to max with fingers, release pistons & note if they fall in unison. If they don't this can also be part of your problem. By the way I note that a lot of guy's use trnsmsn oil etc for carbie tops. The recommended oil is 20 grade engine oil or if you wish the oil they use on chain saw blades fill about 1/2" above piston reservoirs. Finally are you using an electric fuel pump or a mechanical unit. Regards: Alan. -
Hey Salty. Tired of waiting, getting my own made up using "Our Logo". Should look great will post pic when I get it.
