Noticed that when I fitted the plastic cover inside the cabin to my (260 2str) that hides wires & the cabin light fits in that there are flat sections at either end which appears to allow for other plastic sections to extend from these ends towards the front of the cabin up to the top of windscreen. Stivva mate if you have the L28 block & you have been running a dizzy with points you will defntly need the 280 base, as the base you have will be difrnt from what you need. Finally got around to replacing tired old 260 wiper motor with civic version circa 93. Remembered reading post on pepe's having probs with wiper blades returning to incorrect postn when turned off. Dismembered civic motor ,pressed the cam rotor out & replaced same to a position that matches 260 final resting pstn. Has anyone tried this before & to their knowledge did it work ok. I'm going to keep trying this method till it comes out right. can someone help with wiring set up please. Regards: Alan.

Sent email off & received PDF back as my reply. With the advice that I should have consulted a Engnr before starting engine change, Typical RTA response. I then sent a reply back to this stating that seeing I pay rego ,etc. And that the RTA was a govt body that they could be a little more personal & provide info for free. Recd more favorable info back with the advice that if I wanted any ADR's info I would have to contact the Govt body that handles these & they will provide a CD at my cost as the RTA dont own them. Whats wrong with the 280Z srs1 , its a strght bolt up & is a 9" dmtr unit & there is no dramas with either brake master clndr 260 or 280 srs1. Unless you decide to go with the 280 series 2 modfctn brake master cylinder you will need the series2 booster as these are a hrzntl brke master cylndr bolt pattern. Regards : Alan.

Spoke with a RTA technical adviser today . His advice was that the NSW RTA has no problem with the engine swap as it is under the 15% increase requirements , he stated that I could increase motor size up to 3.4 Ltrs & this would be acceptable providing there were no Turbo's ,etc included in the swap. There is no Engnrng certfcte reqrd for this. He knew nothing about the Nissan information regards this matter, perhaps they dont refer back to the eighties.
