  1. All's well, found a place to re-do steering wheel.Cost $280 all up but a great job. Mick King Automotive . Emu Plains. His son Dave is the guy to talk to as he handles the upholstery part. Ph# (02) 4735 3057. Regards: Alan.

  4. Hi Mick, you remove the dissy spindle from the housing unit, the bottom plate that has the three pronged unit which presses the lower plate up can be disassembled by removing a small spring collar that fits snugly underneath it holding it in place. You then grind off the two small pin heads which secure the two top halves together leaving the lower side of the plate smooth. I am going to make the almnm disc/plate to take the place of the plastic unit that was originally fitted except it is going to be slightly smaller in diameter ,hence the four ball bearing supports instead of the usual three. I'm going to drill a lot of small holes in the almnm plate to lghtn it off as much as possible. Will be a bit of trial & error but I'm sure I can get it to work. Will post some pics when I get around to doing this. Might point out Mick that there is anthr post on dissys with some very good info. Regards: Alan.
  5. Thanks for that, what about 280Z Srs1 does that still come under that configuration. Regards: Alan.
  6. G'day Mick, found out that the magnetic ring is avlble thru Nissan spares @ $178 from Japan. Stator is $25.00 these come up from melbourne. Vacuum dashpot $40 from States "Partsformynissan" no ship to Ausie tho. Dissy bushes @ "Partsgeek"abt $7.00 ea. There are two types. I got a mchne shop to make & fit bushes for fifty bucks. I'm going to make up my own version of the breaker plate using 1.6 almnm disc with four ball bearings fitted. Should work I think. At present I am waiting on a reply from a Forum member in the States to assist me buying bits n pieces & sending them over for me. Regards: Alan.

(srs1) My intention is after I get my RWC to replace rear drums with Srs1 disc set up, & to also fit Srs1 discs to the front. 18. G'day Luke, mate if you are after the light unit I might be able to help you. Have one from a 76 260Z. It's a bit faded internally but lenses are OK. You can have for postage costs. Regards: Alan.
  19. Thanks Tim for info, I'm going to use the internals in a 260 housing & hopefully this will increase the wiper speed that is missing in my present set up. Regards: Alan.
  20. Hey Tim ,how much for a 280Z wiper motor & do you have the support brkt for it as well. Regards: Alan.
  21. Just an afterthought, realized also that if the dashpot internals are stuffed & you can draw air freely thru the vacuum tube dissy ,then naturally you will have a vacuum leak back to the manifold via this section. If this is the case the engine won't function 100% & is usually a bit harder to start ,so better to isolate the vacuum tube & block it off. To compensate for dissy advance loss just advance your timing a couple of degrees per medium of the dissy. However it will affect your fuel cnsmptn a little in city driving. Regards: Alan.
  22. Pretty obvious why you got on the "Forum" laney, at least it only took six posts to find out where you come from. More importantly to find out what sort of bloke you are. Alan.
