  1. Shut up Loui!!! If you must know the answer to your question, read 160 of his 175 posts!!
  2. I hope that tomorrow is a better day and that your partner's health returns quickly. If there is anything I can do down here in Vic, please don't hesitate to ask. Make sure that you tell us when you put your parts on e-bay, so we can bid way too much and get you guys back on feet and back into a project car sooner. Take care. MaygZ
  3. Welcome Luke, you will find that we (I mean the others) are a great source of knowledge and they (I mean I) are very quick to pick up on a mistake you make!! That would creep me out, if she wasn't fit and well!!
  4. He's not scared to get into it. From the effort he's putting in at the early stages, it's going to be a very interesting build and a pretty special car when finished.
  5. And heavier. HMAS Melbourne was a very stiff ship and could turn inside 12 miles and could stop in 8 miles.
  6. And she doesn't own a computer :o No soup for you!
  7. You can bend brake lines with a spring bender. You know the one that looks like a 10" spring, with a skinny end and a flared end. These are cheap and can do a very good job if you don't hurry (Like everything I guess). An inexpensive flaring tool will do a good job, again don't hurry. So about $30 of tools should get you through. Mossy's right though, old lines tend to split when they are bent. New lines dont have holes or weak points. It's only brakes after all MaygZ
  8. Right back at ya! Your virgin link posting worked a treat!! They look good. Are they standard zed size? Are they a bit thicker than the singles? Are they the same diameter? Do they require a change of caliper? Do you think they would suit the hilux conversion or is the diameter too small?
  9. To post links you simply copy the web address from the address bar and paste it to a post. Then we can all find these cool looking rotors MaygZ
  10. G'day and welcome
  11. I understand completely. Enough said.
  12. Peter, I think you are right, but only if you are planning on fitting and forgetting. Surely you would check your fluid levels on a regular basis (eg before and after each track event and during regular servicing)? I used to check the discs and calipers after and before each event, but I used different pads for track and road. As the level goes down, can't you just top it up? Is the volume of the brakes you're running any or much bigger than those on a patrol?
  13. Looks neat to me. I wouldn't use the clear (ish) fuel line though, as they will fill with black goop over time and look dirty, reducing the bling of the whole engine bay. I would use black fuel line, as I believe it will keep the bay looking clean. My 2 cents. MaygZ
  14. Borrow a bigger car from someone?? Dedpending how far you are moving it, you might be surprised at the price from a local tow mob. If they do accident tows (reg TOW???) they might be pricey, but a trade tow mob (reg TT ?) might be reasonable.
  15. Auction's ended, but he says he has more available.
  16. As has been said - very easy to get. Can be done over phone and permit faxed to you. You can have a single trip permit - as mentioned Highway permit that allows travel for the purpose of obtaining a road worthy Special use - usually for agricultural or other special purpose vehicles for use on the roadside or moving from farm to farm. This is the one that MAY suit your purpose. Check with VicRoads. Yes, these permits are abused, but use outside the permit carries a fine of ove $600!! and the coppers love them!! MaygZ
  17. Rev, I have a tandem and a 6*4 cage. You can borrow either, but they are along way away. If Ben and Sam come to pick it up, I'll feed them again!! MaygZ
