  1. So 240 it is. Thanks guys. It was worth a try. Sooooo, who's got one for me?
  2. Loui, I have been reliably informed (Lurch) that whilst most of the parts simply swap over, there are just enough that don't to make it a 'nightmare'. In particular electriacl issues and incompatabilities. What I don't really know is if there is no mix n' matching ie: all 260 gear into 240 shell whether problems still exist? Anyone? If there are no problems associated with that issue then perhaps I could even find a 2+2? Anyone? LURCH?
  3. Happy Birthday to little Loui. Hope he has a great day and gets his own fricken rotissorie!!!!
  4. SURE!!! Her garage ..... right
  5. G'day Veloce, I would suggest that a new thread (if an older similar one didn't contain the info you needed or if you were adding fresh info) detailing the information you require and all the relevent information would be much more succesful and appropriate than resurecting a dead thread. If you are having high RPM ignition cut out (and not knowing your set up): Points system - broken/weak points spring not allowing them to close - or - incorrect gap - or - loose or missing advance weights - or - incorrect or malfunctioning coil - or - malfunctioning capasitor - or - broken leads. Electronic System - (depending on your definition of high) malfunctioning ignition cut out - or - incorrect or malfunctioning coil - or broken leads Carby - lean fuel at high RPM or fuel supply (pump/lines/tank) issues or fuel quality issues or valve bounce (due to weak or broken valve springs) not allowing compression to build up pre detination. EFI - ECU issues, injector issues, fuel quality issues or some of the listed carby issues. What colour smoke is blown when the ignition cut out? Black, grey or white? These are the reasons it's good to start a new post. If you ask Lurch nicely, he might transfer all of this into a new post for you ;D Good Luck with your ignition. MaygZ
  6. Scoota, I checked that link but there's no photos. What's the point of having no pictures? What's the point of having more than one wife??!!! One is always more than enough, surely!!!!! Quite obviously I was referring to Dales absence of a Opposition Minister for Fun, Ball and Chain, handbrake, Finance Officer, She Who Must Be Obeyed etc. Thus he is allowed to have fun, spend money, move along at his own pace, collect enough toys for a lifetime and enjoy life. Until my wife reads this, I'm not in that position. I have to travel down the path in life that has been presented to and approved by SHMBO. Any variations from the pre-approved plan must be tendered in the appropriate format (read balls on plate). This ammended proposal must then be rattified by the minister and her mentor (read mother), after much discussion, deliberation and sycophantation (by me). Then they like to sit together, obviously in a much higher position than I, and torment me until I cry and run out of the room to lock myself in my room. It is rare that I eat on those nights!! So someone, stop hoarding a rusty old 240 in your backyards and sell it to me. I'm sh'ouse at jigsaws!! Hi Loui.
  7. Can there really ever be enough RED ones? Don't stand out from the crowd. It's safer in the crowd. It's lonely and scary out there on your own, with your head sticking up. Seriously, I think it would look great on a weekender or track car. It may look a bit dorky on a daily. Just my opinion tho. Ask Lurch; sure as eggs, he'll have an opinion too! :-) On a side note: If you can keep your head, whilst all around you are losing theirs ..... you'll be the tallest one in the room!!
  8. Scoota, I don't think Mark is married, is he? That's why he has 5 and is happy!!
  9. You're right. It's a 4000 piece one without a picture on the cover!!
  10. Bloody good score. Well done mate
  11. Happy Birthday young OldZman!! Hope you have a great day and enjoy the presents. Good on you Loui. Stay well MaygZ
  12. This is the most amazing project I've seen. Love the vision, the updates, the photos and the quality of work. Keep it up please.
  13. Welcome. You seem strange enough to fit in around here. We don't like those 'well balanced' people! Enjoy MaygZ

  16. Bump! Theres 2 one ebay at the moment. Both in bits and both a long way away!! Anyone know of a whole car about?
  17. Welcome Ghostrider (the pattern is full).
  18. They also got a Perana - a Ford Capri with a 351 in them.
  19. Getting there. Looking pretty good.
  20. Years ago, we used metho as it took water and other impurities out of the tank and lines and would burn clean, but I'm sure there is a much more modern and expensive method around now.
  21. Well made point Garvice. When we go to the Car Show, do we make a bee-line for the Nissan stand and then leave? I went to a Show 'n Shine recently and it was an old Dodge ute that had me captivated. The work in that vehicle was awe-inspiring. I would love to pour over a beautifully restored or a tastefully renovated 1600 or 1200. I love the symetery of most of the Skylines (not really a fan of the 31's, but that's just me). Lots of the 'other' early Dattos would be great to see. I wouldn't pi$$ of a Tida if it was on fire, but I don't expect there to be any there. We used to have the same issues at AROCA. Pre-war cars were the meaning of life, 105's were great, GTVs were OK, Suds/Sprints/33s and anything else made after 1980 were 2nd, if not 3rd class citizens and worthy of only contempt. There will always be one model in each brand that is believed to represent the marque. This doesn't mean that the others aren't worthy (except the Tida). I agree that if a group run an event, they run it to their rules and wishes. The economics of the event will be balanced against the stress and complexity of the organisation. If the organisers of any event chose in include or preclude any other group, it will be done with the economics of the event in mind. If the rules aren't to the liking of a person, and a request is made to alter the rules and this request is knocked back, then don't go. There is always the option of the disenfrancised putting up their collective hands and saying something similar to "We are happy to organise the events involving the 'other' cars, so as to reduce the stress on the current organisers and operate under the banner and authority of the organisers". My 2cents
  22. G'day. Looking good. If you are still using the original brake master cylinder, it is quite likely that you are not pushing enough fluid to get a pedal. I'm not sure of the volume of the willwood calipers, but you should look at going to atleast an inch master (patrol). Those more familiar with willwoods(wealthier than me) would be able to confirm - there is probably already something on either here or Hybridz about it. MaygZ
