  1. Good luck with the move Rev.
  2. Getting close now 8)
  3. You may well have already thought of this but ..... how clean is your air filter. A dirty air filter reduces air flow and can richen the mixture, especially under acceleration. Yes the needle and seats can wear over time. Some fuels, especially in the past, contained impurities that would slowly erode all the tiny holes it passed through. I'd try it without an airfilter on before I started pulling them apart. MaygZ
  4. Benny, I think John in Lancefield has a 300ZX and a spare motor or two
  5. ;D
  6. Looking very nice. White really does look good. Keep up the good work. MaygZ
  7. I've entered. Pick Me, Pick Me!!!
  8. A Facebook buddy of the Rev is selling this on eBay.com: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-240z-Series-1-2400-Valve-Cover-Nice-Condition-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem1e5e24a3ebQQitemZ130428478443QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories He can post it here for US$85 ATTENTION LURCH!!
  9. WOW!!! You move pretty fast. To the panel shop for repair or are you up to paint already???
  10. Point well taken.
  11. Please tell me this date change has nothing to do with the International celebration of Kit the wondercar!!!! Simon, it's QUEUE. Believe it or not 21/01/2011 is National Sqirrel Appreciation Day!!!!!!! It's also National Hugging Day (so look out Lurch a big hug is coming your way - GROUP HUG!!) MaygZ
  12. Rev - come counrty. I know I would rather LIVE where I live, than worry about driving to work. Life is cheaper (I mean less expensive) out of the 'burbs. Come country, your dollar goes further and life is better all around. I picked up a 3 bedroom home on 20 acres with two dams (obviously they are now overflowing into the three creeks running through my little farm) and all the room in the world for sheds - all for just over half what I sold a two bedroom + study on 150m2 in Brunswick. Now I have fresh eggs everyday and are a couple of months off our own fresh lamb!! The wife runs the veggie garden. We are an hour from CBD and an hour from Bendigo, surrounded by Kyneton, Kilmore, Seymour, Broadford, Wallan and in-numerable dot towns. Craft and Farmer's Markets each w/end to keep all the girl folk happy and for the boys, lawn mowers you can sit on! Life's great on the outskirts of a small country town, there's plenty on the market - although the prices are going up due to the need of Melbourne supporters to have a week-ender!! All the towns up around here need more of the Word, some a bit further out (Benloch) you would almost be a missionary, like in 'The Black Robe'?!! Life is simply Karma Oh yes there are a few hairdressing businesses up here You might even save enough money on the deal to keep the Zed!!
  13. Thanks RB - worked a treat. Hey Dat2kman, can you tell us a bit more about these calipers? Are they OEM for a particular vehicle? Do they bolt up for the Zeds? Does the job require an engineering degree? What size discs are suitable? etc Thank you
  14. Great picture Bryan. Now all I need is a 55" laptop!! Can someone who knows what they are doing (ie not me) please shrink those photos, so I can see what the calipers look like, please?
  15. Hey Brother, where you moving to?
  16. Welcome to both of you. Enjoy the hunt and the rebuild. MaygZ Very very southern France (AKA Italy)!!!
  17. Try Moonee Ponds and commute!!! Or better still try somewhere like Riddell's Creek, where you could build a huge shed and enjoy your time off and your family could stretch their legs a little. The most livable city in the counrty or sin city?
  18. Welcome aboard. I see you have the trifecta of cars I was looking at to buy as a project. Throw in a V6 Capri and you've got the quaddy! It's such a shame that you're from SA. (Don't worry this was only thrown in to get bites) Have fun here and with your Zed. What sort of condition is she in? The others will all ask you to post photos, I suggest you play a little hard to get and keep them waiting, but not for too long. MaygZ
  19. PM sent. I know it is a waste of time posting that, never understood why others post it, but I've always wanted to post it. Now that I've done it, it wasn't as exciting as I thought it would be. Life's full of these little disappointments. Rev, you know that Kit couldn't really talk and drive on it's own don't you? I know I'm mean. You would be so disappointed at what I tell kids about fat jolly men dressed in red!! MaygZ
  20. Welcome aboard. If your wife has let your 'illness' go untreated for 20 years, you are a very lucky sick unit. Make sure you keep that one!
  21. No. the timing light uses VERY little of the spark power. Check out the below link for spark plug diagnosis. Check the obvious things first. http://www.spark-plugs.co.uk/pages/technical/diagnosis.htm This one has clearer pictures:- http://www.denso.com.au/Products/Aftermarket-Automotive-Components/Spark-Plugs/Diagnosis-of-a-Used-Spark-Plug

  23. Well done on your purchase and welcome. You are off to a good start if you have some sort of leverage on Lurch Time and money is all you need. If you are short of one it simply takes more of the other MaygZ
  24. Great work guys. Can someone please change the thread name to something like 'CV conversaions' or similar so that it will come up in a search when I'm ready to look at it? check out - http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,6850.0.html
