+1 on the screwdriver and prepsol technique, it may take longer but it gets the matting off quite effectively and the prepsol takes care of the rest, just requires a bit of time and patience. Gav an alternative to POR15 I am considering for the inside of panels is called Zinc Gal which I got from Bunnings and have used to protect parts before they get welded in. You can weld through it too being zinc rich, doesn't weld as nicely as the copper stuff though so may use it where no welding is required and do the areas to be welded with the copper. Hi, Based on your location you could try Lurch on here, he does quite a lot of restoration work on zeds and should be able to tell you if a new roof is required or a section to weld in could be fabricated using an English wheel and the warped areas straightened. If Lurch is unable to do it you could consider trailering it to Gladesville auto body works in Sydney where Adam had his car done. Pics would help too Cheers

If you can get a small flat blade under the head of the Philips part of the clip you may be able to lever the Center out, it doesn't actually screw in, it pushes in. The lower clip you need to punch out the dowel in the Center of it. Try not to lose it when it comes out. Cheers

Rudolf who are the guys you have tried, the guys who I would try would be: -Nissan -bill Thomson auto rubbers -Precision rubbers -Pete Jackson auto rubbers Otherwise would try to cobble something together from Clark rubber or find good condition old ones. Has anyone found a complete set for 2+2 models? I would be after a full set of rubbers, including all rubbers for the quarter windows. Rudolf what style quarter windows does yours have/what year is your car? I will let you know if I come across anything too as there are a few of us poor souls doing 2+2s Thanks guys

Hi Jason, from your reply then I am guessing that a thread chaser is better to use to clean up the threads on the shell that are already there. A tap/die is more suited to cutting new threads. Is this correct? When I have used a tap to clean up threads in the past there has been a bit too much material taken out and the bolts slop around a bit. Cheers

Perhaps try Nissan Gav, they sometimes stock Z parts. Col Crawford at Brookvale can get some bits in. If you try them can you ask if they do 2+2 strips - I am hesitant to reuse these as they often rust inside and the rubber perishes. If new ones are not too exy it might be worth buying a pair.

What is the difference in operation between a thread chaser and a tap? Is it right that you should not use a tap to clean threads? Snap-On do a tap and die set which was made in USA last I checked. Have to be careful when buying their stuff now as a lot is now made offshore(of the US)

2+2 bolts are different as the doors bolt from the outside, they are longer. 240 bolts are shorter, not sure about 260 coupes. Cheers
