Hey mate, lenses look good. Should point out that not all 2+2 had the air vents so does not mean they have been welded up. Series 2 (Oct 76 on I think) 2+2 didn't get them so installing them may not work. Hope this helps. Cheers

Also was wondering if it is possible on zeds to run wide wheels like yours and flares without cutting my guards by making the suspension a bit stiffer at stock ride height. Hey Adam, not that you would probably do it, but would a zed pass the noise test without the mufflers? Some of the zeds in historics are very quiet compared to Mustangs etc. Have even seen one with a straight pipe that is still relatively quiet. Cheers

Awesome video, car looks pretty nice too. The exhausts look a little messy though, I think stacked twins at the exhaust cut-out would look a bit neater, everything else is nice though, and sounds tough. Are the carbs 44s? Couldn't quite make it out. Cheers

What was the DeTomaso penalised for? It was only given a 5 sec penalty so can't have been too serious. Congratulations to James too, good to see the 260 win finally after being up the front for so long. Strangely a lot of the top 911's were absent though, don't know why this was, although noticed that most of these guys have moved into other historic categories ie A and C touring. Would love to have an engine built by James one day, one of the best L engine builders in Aus, just need to win the lottery first. Jason are you still racing atm? It occured to me at MCM that how can the white mustang run, as it was in period, but with more allowances than other cars, yet your sports 2000 can not, surely they are both essentially group T cars are they not - ie cars that were raced liked this in period, with more mods than either Nc (mustang) or S (Datsun). Hi all, I have an engine where one of the pistons has failed due to overheating (not a Datsun ). The cylinder itself looks like it should be salvageable with a re-hone. The question is, do I need to re-hone the other bores before putting new rings on? All the bores still have hone marks from when the engine was last built so my thinking was that the other three may not re-honing. Is this correct or am I inviting disaster? Cheers

Haha Johnny you are crazy doing that yourself, you will end up on a Workcover commercial. Would have been a fair bit lighter without doors, hatch and glass, even bare I was surprised how much the damn things weigh! Definitely need four strong guys to lift a zed. What made you opt for the trolley rather than rotiserrie? Would have thought the BBQ chicken would have made it a bit easier. Keep it up! But don't kill yourself with the zed!

Hi Mark, Kameari does a 3.152, but it is big money. Maybe you could change the ratios in the box as well? Don't know much about C4s or if there were different ratio boxes. Perhaps you could get a crown wheel and pinion made up from scratch although this would be terrifyingly expensive. Some later Nissan diffs had a 2.75, don't know if this could be adapted, maybe worth a try. Cheers.

You could also beadblast and repair what you have. I agree that any one you find is likely to be in a similar if not worse condition. If it is not pitted through it should be fine, can also tack up any pinholes once you blast it. Cheers
