  1. +1 there are at least 3 kits on nengen but it's not clear how you should select one vs the other. Roger
  2. I’ve got a 71 and a 72 and it’s remarkable how different they are, completely different wiring looms, gearbox mounts, indicators etc.
  3. The rear tail light panel is a bit of a giveaway.
  4. My 72 240z is an earlier chassis number than this and has those gearbox mounts.
  5. Here's a quick overlay of a full synchromesh 240z and a Golf GTI with DSG. The time lost with even a quick clutch change adds up pretty quick around a lap.

  8. I'm running beehive springs and titanium retainers that a mate of mine had made up. Can put you in touch if interested. Roger
  9. Really enjoying your build videos Jeff, great stuff. Roger
  10. Couple of my laps from the last session. A touch slower than last year because (insert excuse here) but none the less a great weekend once the rain stopped. Already planning next years assault, will likely be a sell out so if you’re keen best get in early.
  11. Thanks Justin, I also understand that the viscous units have different shafts which might scupper the idea for me before it starts.
  12. I’m looking for a 3.9 longnose R200 diff and I’ve been offered a viscous LSD which I’ve not come across before. It looks like the rear cover is the main difference as it’s much larger presumably for greater oil capacity but the cover would need to be changed to a Z item in order to fit into an S30. But is this reduced oil capacity going to be an issue? Anyone tried this and can offer advice? Also, not sure if the side shafts are the same, again anyone got any info or advice? Roger
  13. What are you setting the ignition timing at?
  14. This will work if you use a fan control sender but you'll still need a relay to drive the fan and switch the relay with the sender. You can get fan control senders in various temp ranges, they usually have a small hysteresis window so they switch on at say 90 and then switch off again at 85. I'm using a generic BMW sender from eBay I think that mounts in the L28 thermostat housing. Roger
  15. I fitted up the thinner door glass to my rally car today, perfect fit and factory finish quality. Roger
  16. What pads are you running Dave?
  17. 310mm. I run Advans and the same size / compound is available in both.
  18. I've run both 15 and 16 in 205 on a 7 inch rim, moved to the 16's mainly for brake clearance. No real performance difference but the tyres are more expensive in 16in.
  19. What did you go with? Edit. Too slow....
  20. The shear load doesn't go on the studs it's on the hub face.
  21. Can you also send me pricing on the 4mm LHS and RHS with shipping to Adelaide 5000 if you're happy to post. Thanks, Roger
  22. Hi Greg, FWIW I'm running front 275lb and rear 300lb with whiteline front and rear bars and that gives me a pretty good balance. Koni yellows and 205 x 50 R16 semis.
  23. Sure, could be the rear, there doesn't appear to be any run out or end float in the rear and a quick pull on the hydraulic handbrake doesn't affect the pedal height which suggests the front. Effect is noticeable even warming the tyres on a warm up lap which isn't really worrying the rear tyres much.
  24. I did, they tell me they have had no issues with the standard ones and the new sexy struts are just an upgrade. Of course any flex could also be in the bearings but I've already got as much preload as I'm prepared to run.
