been thinking the same sort of thing for mine one Question: whats the weight like hanging off the dellortos? Mike
-
you going to leave off the rear bumper ? I love the 2+2 rear end as bumperless. Good job. Waiting on more pics. esp with the 17x10's

The AC is staying with the car when i sell her. Sorry. Give zbitz (paul) a call he may have some stuff for you... I seen inside his shed!

rbz260 : I see however that your fleet of cars is awesome. Every car you have is a car i would have. Funny thing about the holley blue is that i had one in my v8 and it was fine. No noise perfectly good. Also apparently it is the gun fuel pump to have !? Either way It might have to go back in if i efi+turbo the engine later on. Nice to hear that someone else keeps a score on injuries. I thought i was the only one! Scootag : mate to be completely honest i am a little worried about this "flexplate-flywheel- starter ring" . The differences between the lightened wheel and this "starter ring " are massive. I dont want to be having to tear down the engine again because it fails but the other side of the coin is that extra few horses available because of its weight. ... Also makes me wonder what else is in the little L24. I'll probably tear down the L24 and find flatop pistons and a ld28 crank ... Yeh sure ..

Last weekend I replaced the holley blue fuel pump from hell for a vl commodore pump. Not only is the vl commodore pump quiet it also can reach the staggering amount of 15 psi!! ( i just wanted to see what it could do I normally run around 4 psi )... youtube link ( quality is shis Must fix it ) but you get the idea http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=8Ltc9eP8Rhk well this weekend is over and the old engine is out. first of all after working on mg midgets and v8 falcons the datsun engine removal is SUHWEETLY easy. Room to move easy to get to everything. If anyone is coming from other engine removals or whatever the datsun has to be the easiest i have ever seen Then first surprise : Seriously lightened flywheel. This flywheel weighs 2.1 kg and makes my other 600 dollar lightened flywheel ( 8.1 kg ) porky. So you can guess that the 2.1kg one is going back into my car that is for sure. And lastly this is an odd shot but it is the engine upside down with an aftermarket oil stick in it. I was wondering if this seems right. First the stick does not go as far as the oil scraper. Should it ? Injuries so far : -ripped the thumbnail off my left thumb. - dropped a bloody heavy torque wrench on my foot - I headbutted the f54 block while retrieving a bolt on the ground. Car 3 Mike 0

DO I HAVE TO USE A RESISTOR TO INSTALL THE STANDARD 240Z TACHO?
modular9 replied to Hunter's topic in Electrical systems
yes I have a l28 electronic dizzy and a late 260z tacho. I have tried a crap load of things and the only thing that worked was to put the old points based coil and ballast resistor connected to the elec dizzy. not good as the spark was *$%^$% so at present i run with the tacho disconnected. Cool thing was that i ran across a hybridz thread where someone detailed exactly the 10 k resistor mod. SO that is on my list of todo things. Also there is a post somewhere on the net about someone called nzeder ( i think he is on this site as well ) who got a gauge guy to swap the internals or mod them with some smith gauges internals . ALSO I ran a multimeter on the positive side of the coil and that is definitely the side that is sending the signal. I traced it to the interior and the mulitmeter works just not the tacho ! -
dammit. I need a new computer and these come along at an awesome price. I'm a little pissed right now. I dont know if you have posted this info before but what sort of quantities are there ? ( 16 x 8 ) Mike

photoshopping the humans out. AS much as I like the guys from here I rather like their cars more! I think i made a photoshop action called " make it look good " I hit ctrl + F1 and it does all the work for me. Course CS4 will do it all for us from now on.

Thanks mr Sushi. I love you in that manly ,punch in the arm ,strictly platonic "how-are-those-broncos-going " way. ;D now photoshopping the humans out to see the porn behind is my next trick !

currently 750 USD is 1,060.24 AUD ( as i type rate is about 70 cents ) SOOOO.... Too cheap. Especially when you say that a secondhand 350z is sitting around 30 k AUD. So you are going to give a 30k car to an 18 yr old kid to put a bodykit on for 1K. Owner needs a check up from the neck up. Seriously bells should have been ringing at the price. Owner says he heard some good and bad things about the bodyshop and despite the bad things went ahead anyway ?? Nice to see we probably still could get some americans believing we still ride kangaroos to work. ;D

KEEP THE FLAMES ! That is awesome. If it were mine : 1. New front bumper ( no overiders Gotta get rid of them on mine aswell. ) Smoothed off and possibly body colour ? ( Radiator area coloured in black so you got that whole I'm gonna eat your children front end. 2. Turbo. Turbo . Turbo. ... yep . Dont bother with triples . Sound great and go great but in traffic are harsh little bastids. ( If you are not a daily driver then triples. But daily driver ... might as well tow a fuel bowser around behind your car ! ) 3. Rota RBR's 17 inch for that clean classic look. Or depending on the colour you respray it or whatever some of them volk time attackery things. 4. go classic black interior. Makes you feel like you are in a cocoon, and it hides the oil stains. 5. Shave the arse end. No bumpers and no holes at all. Rev has done it to his arse ( the car,i dont know if he shaves his arse or not... and i dont want to ) and i done it and it makes the car look really different as you have the tight roll back into the exhaust area. If that makes sense. But remember you dont have bumpers. 6. debadge the car. And if you can get those rear quarter vents filled as well do that. And there we go. One thing I would counsel is if you are going L28ET go for it dont build a half measure and then decide later to do it. Like ... me Sorry in an odd mood. You probably didnt ask for what I would do or anyone else but your car has massive potential.

that's brilliant. nothing else to say.

I have the 260z 2+2 mags ( cos i have a 260z 2+2 ) and have the inserts painted black eg http://www.viczcar.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=random&cat=10582&pos=-1970 Bad pic I know but it is funny when you own the car you hardly take pics of 'em ... Anyway it is another option. I'd go for a time-attack volk style myself all black with the colour of your car on the extreme outter part of the rim. But then i like that whole JDM time attack culture.

Mick has these on his 77 260z 2+2 with no modifications. So yes they will fit. Paid the same sort of cost as well from 18racing.com. But then he can tell you that himself Gonna get a set of these myself.

Amazing sound. Amazing work. Three thumbsup from me. Sounds absolutley brilliant.HAve downloaded the youtube vid and using your throttle body porn as my ring tone. Keep us posted on the dyno runs and the sound after the zorst goes on.

yes definitley yes. yes. I bought a l28 in bits and I am missing bits which are getting harder and harder to find. So get one that is running ( so you know the bits inside are all there and are ok ) or at least unopened ( so you have all the bits. ) Also will allow you to take it apart and number the flipping bolts in order and so forth !! So that would be yes. and they are getting more expensive as they are getting more scarce. The datsun wreckers down the road have about 7-8 L24 and 3 L26's but no L28's .

passengers side engine block will/should have the stamping. If you got carbs you'll need to peer past them with torch . If you are EFI then hahha you going to need to realllyyy peer past the efi stuff. There are differences in the blocks regarding the webbing etc which you could work out from careful measuring. There are a few threads on hybridz.org about the differences with photos. I'm building up a F54 so can get you closeups on the webbing and stuff.

what's more you can have last fm groups so you could make a group call it auszcar and then all auszcar members can subscribe to the group and listen to everyones music tastes... Problem. I like american gangsta rap/ thrash metal/ death metal and Trance so perhaps not me . Would be quite an idea to hear other peoples likes and dislikes though.
