  1. Well I'll be the enthusiastic supporter on the side lines with all the official tshirt + cap + scarf on !
  2. Hot work zedman240. you guys having some sort of race ?
  3. Gilltech : The guys at torqueteam in mansfield are great. They do the engines for some of the qld z club guys. Glenn knew exactly what i wanted/needed L28 f54 turbo block + n42 head (replacing the current l24 ) They did exactly the same as Alan's except i didnt go for flat top pistons And the cylinder porting/cc'ing which is a stage 2 "whip the head off and get it done " thing.( I also needed some linishing on my crank ) Think around 1 K less than Alan's price and you'd be on the money. They also itemised the quote which was super handy. They also re-assembled the whole head (I had already disassembled the head and block was already dissassembled ) !! Also supplied everything I need to put it together( rings gaskets etc ). Only change from Alan's setup is I am running dellortos with almost certain boosty efi thingy ( designing the intake and all that in my spare time ) in the future ( hence the lower compression ). Agree exactly with what Alan said lastly. Be sure to put aside 3 - 4 grand for the build and be ready. The guys at torque team are FAST I mean 4 days and it was done ready to pick up. Mike

    Sock substitute

    flow well ?
  6. Toecutter : nah do the 2.5bar. would make a wicked youtube vid. Picturing fuel lines exploding , catching fire , owner crying. Perfect action movie in fact. You got the action you got the suspense and you even got the romantic soppy stuff for the ladies ! You would make a motza! :D
  7. There is a thread from sulio about settings in the triple carburettor section of this very site. Plus other tips. - Return fuel line is a dam fine idea. Ask sulio about the one he set up on his triple dello/datto beasty. -Have you got the emissions dellortos or the non emission ones ? Eg what is the stamping DHLA40 H/g/c/d/e on the side of the dellorto. Dont take what the author says about emission based dellortos to heart. Some of us on here have DHLA40 H/G's and have been able overcome some of the problems. - Also you dont need vaccum advance on your dizzy. I dont know if this is only for electronic ones or not. But every tuner i talk to says to lock off the advance mechanism. Mick74 is a really knowledgeable guy when it comes to dellortos as well. I based most of my tune of what he told me and they working really well until my engine died in the butt.
  8. quick answers 1. lift the stalk to wards you if you are sitting in the car . high beams are on . Lift again to go back. Then lift again to switch on and lift again to turn off and then lift ... oh you get it i hope ! 2. dim on mine as well. When i took my tacho out looked at the light bulbs super dirty so replaced them better now. Going to put leds in later. 3. Sorry dont know this one but i would think they will be narva replacements from repco or somewhere like that. PICS OF YOUR CAR !
  9. well that is good news for him . Yes i heard about some of the offers he got as well. Ok will keep an eye out for you but those damn mexicans seem to have all the good cars !
  10. Matt's is hot . If i had 14k and didnt have a zed already it would be in my hot little hands. http://carpoint.com.au/used-car/DATSUN/260Z/Queensland/csn5396320.aspx Though I am now confused. I could have sworn blind that you already asked this question or am i getting befuddled in my old age?
  11. and apparently here is what it most likely will look like http://jalopnik.com/390264/2010-nissan-370z Note the 260z 2+2 rear quarter windows FTW ! Oh and it is hotter than 19 yards of chicken giblets with onions on the side.
  12. Hey there gav. My 2 cents and in your case that works out to be about 1.2 pence ! Had you thought of taking on the mantle of being a forum/portal for old japanese cars . There is jdmstyletuning.com for the modern stuff ( nice site but I cant talk 30 year old datsun 260 2+2 there ! ). There is the site http://www.japanesenostalgiccar.com/ which has a more encompassing overview of older JDM stuff. and they recently merged with grandjdm. I dont know if it is something that you want to do or keep it old datsun/nissan cars or change nothing. Tis your site !
  13. subscribed to this thread. Good luck guys. Nzeder : very interested about the efihardware direction you are going so keep us updated!
  14. funny this thread coming up. Ok i have run dual su's and triple carbs. on a l24 . I also daily drive my zed from indooropilly to kelvin grove in brisbane and back . About 17 km all up and it takes during rush hour about 1 hour - 1 1/4 hours. Triple dellortos fluffed and chuffed up quite a bit. However i think some of that was due to the engine. When i got my triples tuned, the guy down at brisbane turbo and tuning ( woolongabba for you brisbane people ) said that the triples should be fine in traffic though exxy on the fuel. There is a really good thread on here with some of the settings for dellortos that toecutter has done. He also is running dellortos . I was also running lower jets than what was on there after a few days tweaking. SU's back on now. I think webers are around the same sort of settings. What i am going to do ( once I've built the l28 and installed it ) is run the su's for 500 k or so and then drop the dellortos on it. Then if they arent right, and I need daily driver sensibility but with a little tunability, going Megasquirt/Haltech + efi and/maybe/possibly decompressing the engine and turbo. Or ITB's N/A... Not really helpful for you but buy deusex's car. Tis a mighty fine car.
  15. Pm's sent. I am working boss, truly !
  16. Grinder Lovely car. Great wheels. Good luck with the sale.
  17. I got your psd off of here but it is a 72dpi which when sampled up to 300 dpi is a wee little postage stamp of a size. So any illustrator files would be good. At present I am bringing in the psd into illustrator and going over the top. I'll be making a print ready pdf for chris as well as a screen 72dpi to attach to the forum to check things like spacing and the like. I am still on CS2 suite so if you can make an AI for us older people that would be great. Mike
  18. Pm sent Just seen your email addy on your profile so email sent instead ! I am not the sharpest tool in the shed !
  19. cor they look nice. Definite purchase for me. What is the steering like now as compared to before ?
  20. Thanks for the link . Great stuff there still going through the site.
  21. EPS 300 dpi should do it . From memory if you arent using illustrator you can do this as a photoshop eps. Just make sure that the fonts are outlined. If you are in Photoshop 7 or higher you could even use vector shapes in PS. In fact i think PS can do print ready pdf's now which can be opened in photoshop just remember to keep the dpi the same ( i once downsampled an a4 300 dpi pdf to 72 dpi accidentally and had to wait 30 minutes for PS to open it ! ) Much better to do it in illustrator so you can crop mark it and export to printers specs. You can also do print ready pdf directly from illustrator so you dont even need to touch indesign or any of that shiz. If you need a print ready pdf or anything like that give me a holler. In the middle of a job that has me sitting in irritator for most of the day. Which isnt bad but just not super fun.
  22. I agree mate. looking at it you want the side to be as flush as you can get it. The only other idea i have been thinking about is pumping the guards a bit like the topsecret 350z has. but then you'd need to mould the flares into the guard at the back of the front wheel arch. I reckon the step back that the top secret z has is nice as hell. If i had the welding/body skills i'd do it. We got 2+2 's not like we are going to offend any concourse heavy if we mod it .
  23. yellazed : I had a long post on how the end looks like a lamborghini ( or a aston martin vantage back end ) grafted onto a 240z and the front looks like the new mustang squished down to fit the 240z ( which it does ) but then it got me thinking. There isnt enough lateral thinking in the zed community. Sure there is the ampeater z that is awesome in the states and there is the ratsun thing as well, but not enough full on modding ( I am as guilty as the next man ). So though I think it is odd, it is a triumph in the re interpretation of the zed paradigm. And for that i think it needs a place in the hearts of all red blooded datsun fans.
  24. Beginning to like the car. There is too much going down the same route recondition a car back to factory spec etc . No this took some cojones to do . And the skull... not enough skulls making their way into zeds IMHO. Van : +1 for sulios questions what sort of coin are you looking at dropping on a 180sx ?
  25. Just missed out on this on US ebay : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1974-Datsun-260Z-Full-Custom-Hot-Rod-Supercharged-V8_W0QQitemZ330232265388QQcmdZViewItem Beeeyootiful .
