Nice start mate ! coupla questions : what year is your 2+2 ? regarding the energy pro nolathane stuff wouldnt mind a set myself ( 77 260z 2+2 ) Flares are going to be cool . get some photos of that as i want to do the same but worried about the different arse ends to a 2 seater. as for the side flashers ? I reckon flush mounted where the originals were. They are eyesores i grant you but if you stick it towards the end of the panel you wont be able to graft in those hk monaro flutes that i know you are going to do :D honestly if you dont need it for rego purposes then dont put them on( nice and clean ) but if you do then yeh like the r33 Just my 2 cents.

you got a good eye mate ! My dad's mk1 MG midget that he's selling off. Got no room at home so all engine work being done at my parents place. which is good they've got all the engine lifting and aircompressor stuff. and a big fridge with beer in it !

Jake and paul from Zbits came through with all the good stuff i needed plus extras! so I got the engine decked cleaned and bored etc plus with a 2+2 i got all this in the boot of my car !! I also got it fully balanced bottom end ( worth it as a balanced engine is a very nice thing to have ) and a lightened flywheel So a quick rundown on what has happened. N42 head : -Tuft rided hardened valves and seats -A slight opening of the quench area -I decided against getting the injection notches done. Primarily as i havent made my mind up on the use of dellortos on a very daily driver . And if i do ditch the dellortos then EFI is the only other way to go - decked the head straight didnt shave anything off as my plans might/should/will include a turbo application. - Complete clean - A wee little weld job on the end where the welsch plug goes in . F54 block - bored 40 thou - cleaned out - checked for straighteness that aint a word but i am still feeling weird after licking my flywheel ! Everything else - balanced crank - balanced rods and pistons - pistons are not flat tops. turbo application might be in the books and with fuel being the way it is and may will be the stock-ish CR is fine for me. - Lightened and balanced flywheel. - new bits !!!!! So that is it. Time for build is probably about 3 weeks from now . Work is kicking my butt and i really like to take a week to build engines. ( last time i did an engine it took me 30 minutes per piston to put in ) I also want to put in the exhaust system and a few other little things before whipping out the l24. You know that smell from bakerys of new bread and so forth well antirust oil and wd40 does it for me

sr20det FTW . I had the unfortunate luck of driving one of these about 2 weeks ago. Unfortunate because... an absolute monster of a car and then i had to get back into my z. Now the guy had gone to town on the engine and boosty this and wastey that but I was very impressed. If you really need the sound of induction and or trumpets throttle bodies or do what that dude with the old skyline ( kpcg10 ?? ) in japan did and put mikunis on it !! ( his was a rb25 but modern engine with old school induction all the same ) Get a z. About the same money as the 180sx .

stop off in america pick up a few ld28 cranks ! Wow that is going to sound rorty ! I mean i know what a rb normally sounds but with some ITBs and ram tubes+filters will sound great. Be sure to do a video.

buy this over doing a l28 to the same specs I can honestly tell you that the work that has been done on this would cost you double that to get done. I know cos I am doing it right now to almost the same specs! Only difference is the induction/manifold: triple 40's dellortos instead, even have the 74 camshaft. zedman240 : are you going to run the efi setup on the rb over the stock ? If not are you looking to sell the set up ? and if so how much ? and can you solve the worlds problems at the same time ? ;D

Polished lip for sure. Had you thought of getting the lip anodised in the colour of your car or a complimentary colour. The reason i ask is that there is a black 350z going around ( i have pics on my other puter ) with black centers and a thin red anodised lip. Looks very sweet when it drives. Almost like you are driving on the red lip only. I'll post a pic later on in the day when i get home.

Dunno where you are but there is a SUHWEET red 260z 2 seater on carpoint. Apparently got a msd ign setup and the requisite triple carbs+exhaust etc. Talking to d3c0y who knows the guy ( and i actually met him but it didnt click that he was the owner ! ) it is a tight handling car and bored out and all that good stuff. I would buy it but i got an l28 bored/balanced/ported waiting for my zed. I checked out turbos + 240z/260z = bad hassle with rego authority in Qld ( other states might be easier ). Good luck in your search they are getting harder to find. Going from a 2000's spec EVo to a 1970's/late 60's spec car is going to be .... fun.

vaccum advance( if you arent running triples ) . Check that the vaccum line is in good condition and that it is connected correctly. Took off my triples and put back on the su's and forgot to reattach the vaccum advance and i got doughy response above 4000. Reattached and it is fine Electronic ign. I dont know if doughy response is what you are describing by not going past 3500. Also fuel starvation ?
