  4. Mine is full rego too and would take it our every other weekend (the 2000 Sports on the other weekend). Go for coffee's with each of my son's, one down the Gold Coast. My eldest boy seems to take the Zed a few weeks at a time, always keen for someone to be using it ...better than sitting in the shed. End up driving the Sports more as the DSOA guys organise regular runs......
  5. So many for sale this weekend, with a FJ20 http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/caloundra/cars-vans-utes/1978-datsun-260z-coupe/1083701946

  7. Welcome Des, I had been out to look at that car. You have snared a good one and the old mate selling it was a very nice upfront guy too. Would be good to see it brought back to spec, what are the plans?
  8. I am local to this car if anyone wants info on it.
  9. Do not wish to do that, have new mags coming which I can use original studs. Just what to put the Zed wheels on for a couple of months and the guy selling me the mags can likely just supply me the nuts with 7/16" but I need the dimensions.
  10. Looking at fitting some Zed mags on my 2000 Sports but need to get special wheel nuts made up. Does anyone have the shank diameter and length for the factory wheel nuts?
  11. As the "Family Sedan" morphs into a "SUV" one can only expect the "Ute" to be a "Truck"
  12. Totally agree, Nissan (Datsun) were the trend setters for great ideas...the Roadster...the Zed...the P510 1600...now there is not one model that you could say is progressive in a positive way. Hence we drive their old stuff and remember the good old days.
  13. Looks like a complete car that someone has loved at some point not too long ago. Some TLC will get it back I am sure, plenty of help/advise available here....the purple is not that bad
  14. Interesting 280Z in Brisbane http://www.tradeuniquecars.com.au/detail/cars/unique-cars/datsun/280zx/299332

  19. An old fashion radiator shop will fix that it a second.
  20. The 180B SSS was the closest I could come to a Zed when I was young! Was yours the earlier model with the twin SU's and the full instrumentation? Mine, below was not, the later model was more just for looks
  21. Hi Robert Not sure what you mean by this? Are you saying the 4 barrel would have been a good option? The 38 DGMS is only a 2 barrel, will cost me about $485, $55 for adaptor and $50 for the air filter and I can use a standard Datsun intake Cheers Tim
  22. Thanks, think I will....all goes into the Zed knowledge bank.... If it does not work...wait for it under "For Sale"
  23. AC for a 260Z http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/girrawheen/other-parts-accessories/datsun-260z-aircon-compressor-plate/1082140039
  24. Welcome, another Brisbane Zed.....where is it from and want's its story? If you have been watching this forum you know we need photos....
  25. I had twin SU's on a very worked L18 in my 1600 (510), went well but when I put in the original factory carbie (pre pollution) it went like a rocket. On top of that went from 20mpg to 30mpg. Mine is using a heap of fuel and just does not have the get up and go that I know that it should. It may just be my SU's on this engine as my son's 260 runs better with his SU's. If there was a good mob in Brisbane that could get the best out of them, I would have another go as I would like to keep it more original.
