  1. I might be able to make it.
  2. Yeah trying to get rid of anything I won't use / need. Others have helped me so just paying it forward.
  3. Maybe? http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,14237.msg150620.html#msg150620
  4. His wife also had a Celica that was mint and original (TA22). He sent me photos, not surprised it was gone within 30 mins of listing on Gumtree. If people are on the fence with a car like this, I suspect they haven't factored in the cost of restoring and S30Z properly vs starting with something clean and relatively rot free. You can only tell people this so many times, sometimes you just have to let them find out for themselves though . You always save money starting with a better car, always. The modifications on this as you mentioned are pretty easily reversed.
  5. Sent a PM.
  6. Compared to the Recaro bucket seats that came in limited edition FDs they are heavy. It's all relative to your expectations LOL...but I suspect not much heavier than stock 240z seats like you say.
  7. I'm interested, but can you give me a ballpark figure of what you want for it? Feel free to send me a PM.
  8. Donated, these have been claimed.
  9. http://www.tabcobodyparts.com/html/table_of_contents.htm Just had a look at that site, who does the bottom section of a door skin only? Honestly....as Austin Powers would say.
  10. I can't see the images on that thread without a login... Do you know if it's an N42?
  11. Safari Gold C10 Skyline. That colour is awesome! Note: Red Rocker cover too
  12. Welcome, a big project for you there. Hope you're ready to get your hands dirty like the rest of us in the middle of such projects? Good luck with it .
  13. FWIW I think the original cars will go up in value as more and more get modified like 50RTA, how rare is an original 240z these days? I mean properly original? Like this RX-3 original? Not many, I can't recall the last time I saw a car like the RX-3 (but a Z) for sale. Apart from Edwards Lee's car - which he isn't really trying to sell (and I don't think $40k is unreasonable either).
  14. I'm doing my part are you?
  15. To each their own I suppose. Not sure if we'll hear from the guy again.
  16. Free to a good home, I'm going to be filling in the gap as 240z's delivered to AU were intended to be . Note: The drivers side has hairline cracks in it, hard to photograph but otherwise good condition I suppose.
  17. I'd almost swap you those 240z seats (sure they're not 260z ones?) for my FD RX-7 ones but I have the early 240z style seats and I'm not sure they would be what I need? This is what my FD seats look like, they are the carbon style (pattern) ones.
  18. Sorry Jezza I bought them.
  19. Back for sale. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Datsun-240z-Sports-1971-2D-Coupe-5-SP-Manual-2-8L-Twin-webers-/251534177107
  20. Lotus Elise seats could be another option (although I don't know what they cost). http://clubroadster.net/vb_forum/89-roadster-projects/18571-sharka-build-2.html#post352791 It is difficult to find seats that are narrow enough for the S30Z. The standard FD seats are good, I drove all over Ireland in them and never really felt tired or sore once it was properly adjusted. I sometimes consider putting the stock seats back in since they can be reclined. But I have to say the RZ Recaro's I've got are a really good compromise between a serious track seat and daily driver seat. Only downside is price, but most aftermarket seats are expensive. You may find the stock seats quite good if re-trimmed and the foam support restored.
  21. Hey mate, The standard FD seats are quite good, I like them and I think they would fit well, since both the FD3S and S30 Z are very narrow in terms of seating and so you shouldn't have door card rubbing issues etc..They are a good trade off between bucket seat and every day suitable seat. The only downside is that they are quite heavy and would need a re-trim to suit the S30Z interior look etc... A really great seat and what I have in my FD is the Recaro's RZs with Tilting Rail Function. The benefit of these is you get a fixed bucket seat that can be adjusted titled forward / back and slide forward and back etc.. It is now hard to get into and out of the FD but it is a good compromise and best of both worlds. The only problem is these seats are very expensive - even second hand in shagged condition. They come in black and red. To my knowledge I don't know of any other bucket seat that has a tilting function like this? I've often thought about taking them out of the FD and putting them in the S30Z and putting the normal FD seats back in the RX-7, since they would fit in the tiny S30 cabin. If they were not so damn expensive I'd buy another set. Another great feature is the seat belt strap so you don't have to fish for the belt behind you, although if you go a harness this is a moot point. A guy has replicated them here: http://www.angrypandafactory.com.au/ But he is having issues getting the rails sorted and I've been waiting ages for him to replicate the rails so I can buy 1. A similar seat to the Recaro RZ (Spirit R Type A) seat is the Recaro Pole position seat, (Mossy) - Mark had these in his orange S30Z and they looked good, but he swapped them for some Datsun competition bucket seats. You could re-trim them to have the Datsun style vents in them like this 432 appears to have had done. The Recaro seat shape etc.. would suit the S30Z in my opinion. I've been looking at the Datsun bucket seats since I really like the look of them, but you need the headrest for sure. The only downside is comfort wise they might not be great. A similar seat to those is the 432-R buckets like seen here: Think they are the same as the old Rally cars had. Where would you get them? No idea. I think Alan T (HS30-H) had some copies made a few years ago if I recall what he said correctly? I have a set of reclinable Recaro's in the 72 240z, they are comfortable but they look too big and chunky for the S30z and I want to change them in the future. I like the period look as you can probably tell, even if it means a trade off in comfort to some extent.
  22. Honestly for a 2+2 like that, $500 and I'd pray it's not that rusty underneath, it's a parts car from the look of it and the lack of description makes it hard to ascertain what else it has going for it, (if anything). Hopefully the rust isn't that bad and is just surface rust thanks to an incomplete restoration...
  23. I like that blue colour a lot, I plan to paint my valve cover wrinkle red with the blue block and I think it will offer an awesome contrast to the gold engine bay colour. From your photo's the blue looks great against the gold.
  24. Waiting for the Nissan S13/S14 and S15's to soar in value as original examples become impossible to obtain some 20-30 years from now .
  25. You got me looking into this now.. http://www.v-performance.com/products/air_fuel.html That appears to be what Eiji is using .
