  2. Early Fender Mirror Photos for Reference. Thanks to Craig for sharing these photos.
  3. My approach is different to yours George I started counting but I'd rather not know lol...no that's not true. At some point I'll document it but I'm using as many used parts as possible. At least for now, I plan to spend good money on the bodywork in terms of paint etc.. And I'm trying to do as much of the bodywork myself, but then I have to factor in cost of tools and course fees. I'm still trying to decide on a stock motor rebuild vs building a serious L-series. The hidden cost of DIY is material costs etc.. I often think I can save money restoring a part oy to discover that for a little more I could have bought a new 1. I guess it comes down to how perfect you want the end result.
  4. I didn't get any right. They should have gone past at full noise.
  5. Seems slightly relevant... Has a bit of history on the Celica / Supra at the start. When the Celica went 'wrong wheel drive' they replaced it with the Supra really, although I never liked the 1JZ version much... the later 2JZ version was much nicer but a bit heavy.
  6. Healthy sounding L-series engines . Long Nose S30z https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k4-QdRxO36g S31 with some kind of weird underdrive pulley?

  9. Wow 00084 is in really good original condition. Thanks for sharing the photos. I found these Fender Mirrors on Yahoo! Auctions listed as being for a Prince Skyline. Do they look the same as the mirrors on your early 240z? http://www.buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/g133805118 http://www.buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/k172851260 The second link appears to be similar, but I'm not sure if the base is the same? To me it makes sense that Nissan would use the same mirrors on more than 1 vehicle and not create a unique set of fender mirrors for the AU market only.
  10. It is HS30 00319 and non original matching numbers (has L26 in it, original number is L24 021841). Body is less than perfect for a 'restored' car, but it seems solid in the right places. I'll let GK510 fill you in on the rest and possibly show photos also. I'm actually not sure what to value it at, given what I've seen. Guess it depends on if someone wants an early car enough?
  11. This arrived in the post today, thanks to a generous member who donated it to me. It should go nicely with the OEM knob I purchased on eBay recently, but has the shagged 4 speed button.
  12. They are cheap for the same reason that early Zs have been cheaper than Aussie Muscle cars. The demographic of enthusiasts who want them is small and generally cheap as Mark mentioned above. Values will go up and have been rising but not at the same rate as the Zs. I always like the TA22 shape in particular but in AU we got the single cam versions only. Which were not as exciting as the twin cam dual side draft carb version. If I had the space it would be another car I'd love to have but I don't have the space. Saw 1 the other day in rough shape but it made me realise you don't see them anymore.
  13. I can't believe there is no bids yet.
  14. I could be wrong but it looks like a white 240z that briefly appeared on Gumtree a couple of months ago for 2k.
  15. Is that the undercoat or are you going black? Looking forward to seeing how this car turns out.
  16. http://touch.drive.com.au/#!car-search/car-details/38993639 This 1?
  17. I saw a Monaro GTS in no better condition than my early 240z at a starting price of 20k needing full resto on eBay. I thought that was extreme given that in the US you can pick up many of the Pony cars restored near that price.
  18. Parts in Australia are hard to find. But between eBay, Yahoo! Auctions and all the vendors reproducing parts I wouldn't start to panic. If there is enough demand you'll be able to find someone making parts. So far only the very early 240z parts are hard to source. Some AU specific parts are however taking me a while to find. Like the 5 speed OEM knobs, the drivers door mirror, the early fender mirrors those are proving the hardest to find. The rest is obtainable if you're willing to spend enough or wait for an item at a good price.
  19. Topic unlocked as requested.
  20. All I know is it's been advertised for a while now. It's missing some parts to make it original - looks like it was restored in a documented fashion which is always helpful. Not sure if anyone's been to see it yet?
  21. The headlight backing plates? The bonnet catch plate (are you running the OEM set up?) The bonnet hinges were cad plated also. Engine bay inspection light. Horns The Master and Clutch Cylinder Caps - better off just buying NOS for that though.. Voltage regulator? Probably not running that. I can't recall if the dove-tails and rear hatch components were also cad plated. Likewise I feel like the doors had several cad plated parts like window winders etc.. but you're GTO is using different doors right? So given your GTO conversion I'm not sure what parts you're still using. Who are you going to get the plating done through? I was looking at the DIY kits but not sure if it's worth giving them a go?

    260z engine

Yeah that's why I said it LOL... it's a 6 technically But in fairness you only need 3 rotors N/A http://youtu.be/6MgN_vvneOk?t=10m21s Check out the acceleration on the 3 rotor FD . Imagine that in an S30z. I wonder if it would be P-plate legal? After all it's not a turbo and it's not a V8. But seriously I think the OP must be a young fella looking for an engine swap that is P-plate legal.
  23. I'm not surprised to be honest especially at that price. I was tempted myself. But nowhere to store them. First world problems. Still would like to see photos just to see what they were like.

I predict a troll..just saying.. You should put a straight 6 rotary in it.
