  2. Where are the RB engine & gearbox mounts from?
  3. If the generator's 16A circuit breaker didn't trip, that would suggest that the welder draws less than 16A. Does the welder have a fuse? If so, its current rating could give you an idea of the expected draw.
  4. PM sent about fuel tank straps, wipers and spare wheel cover
  5. They told me it would be around $750 to $900 + GST. My plan for the brakes is similar, except that I'll probably use R31 rear calipers. Which mounts are you using? What about the oil pan?
  6. I don't need one myself, but I'm an electrical engineer so I could help to develop a replacement if others need them.
  7. Gav, do you know why they were going to cost so much to reproduce? Was it $2000 each, or was that the engineering cost?
  8. Jeremy didn't seem to think that many supporting modifications were necessary - just making sure the gearbox, diff, etc were up to the task. I was only talking about a relatively stock engine, though. The story may be different at those power levels.
  9. I had a conversation with Jeremy Banks (in Beaumaris) a couple of months ago - he seemed quite knowledgeable about 240z's. The only others I found that got back to me and would be willing to take on my project (RB25DET into 240z) were Enkelman and Associates (Braeside), but I haven't spoken to them yet. KatoKid was planning to use them though (http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,6400.msg123002.html#msg123002).
  10. Welcome, and good luck in your search for a 240z. I've seen a few of your photos before, like this one of my sister driving at Calder.
  11. How does everyone store their windscreen and hatch glass while they're out of the car? Is there a particular way they should be stored to minimise the risk of cracking (e.g. on edge)? Any ideas for keeping them safe and out of the way would be appreciated.
  12. Can you put me down for a set too nat0? Thanks, Belinda
  13. From http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/3291-request-advise-on-radio-installation/ My guess would be W/B for speakers, B/G for ground, G/W for power and L/R for illumination? You also need to work out whether the left and right refer to the front of the connector or the back. If it was me, I'd open the radio up and follow the wires/traces inside to work it out.
  14. Downlight transformers usually output 12VAC, don't they?
  15. A computer power supply is a cheap option, with a lot of current available at +12V. You could use the sparkfun kit to convert to banana sockets, or just add your own connectors.
