  1. Anyone know if Top Gear Australia did a feature on the 240z? http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_236648-Datsun-240Z-S30-1972.html It looks like it, but a quick search revealed nothing...
  2. http://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/f166760557 79,800 yen - a lot of coin for a replica wheel that still doesn't quite get the details right. This MOMO wheel looks very similar to the Mach steering wheel. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/11680-nissan-fairlady-z432-r-replica-project/?p=138648
  3. By the way do you know what they used to clean the engine to give the alloy the flat dull factory look? Did they water/aqua blast it?
  4. Feel free to post whatever S30z's you like, I just post cars I like and they happen to be 'period correct' looking examples.
  5. More info on the Keno brothers Z432 here. http://sato1511.blog40.fc2.com/blog-category-19.html Kats thinks only 2 exist in blue. http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/52685-72-z432-on-the-block-in-nyc/?p=479924
  6. On the topic of Kobe Seiko wheels see this post. http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/42525-rallye-wheels-ebay/?p=383478 It shows 3 different versions of the same wheel. The Z432 version, the Rally version produced for the Works Rally Cars and a later release in 15" Notice how the Rally Version has the cut outs in the spokes? The Z432 version has a different inner hub area, designed to retain a center cap I suppose?
  7. Geez what are you feeding these blokes? They move fast.
  8. I have a confession to make, I love watching people on the Internet loose their shyza. If you don't like language you may not like these... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TpjCEVJbIE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BrWuJWE104 I guess some people need a snickers..
  9. Something about the sound an L-series puts out, and the look of the motor in the engine bay. Seeing other motors in there never looks right for me, unless it's an S20 or LY head of course. If you put a modern motor in an S30z now, in 10 years time it's just another old motor that's outdated. Stick with the L-series and it will always belong in there.
  10. If I have the funds available when they are next being made I plan to buy a set. However expect to pay $5,000 for a set maybe more depending on exchange rate.

    Back Into It.

All the cars they nicked off us no doubt Question is where would you get this data from? I don't think our government would allow for any sort of API to query their databases. I remember looking at this site because I was curious how many FD RX-7s were left in the UK when I was looking for 1. https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/mazda_rx-7 That's what a financial crisis does.. Many were parted out.. I guess it's all cyclical. Cars increase in demand, then as values drop and quality of cars get worse they drop, then at some point they swing up again when more are restored etc..
  12. That's ok, it was fitted to later L-series engines in Japan before they moved to a trigger wheel / CAS (Crank Angle Sensor) set up and was most likely fitted on saloon cars that had L-GATA motors fitted. As you say fitted for 7 years without missing a beat, these are a good unit. I only removed mine when the module died, but they are a much better unit compared to the earlier Hitachi ones. I paid $300 for the last 1 and in my opinion it's well worth it. I'd go trigger wheel etc..but I'm not yet ready for that kind of fancy equipment .

    Back Into It.

And nobody thought to save those cars from the scrap yard, so not many are left. Haven't seen any on the road in years. Also nobody thought an E88 head on 1 of these was worth anything..
  14. Not car related, but certainly worth a look.
  15. I'm going to take a wild guess and say it's a 73 model?
  16. Go ahead, 1 less original S30z makes mine worth more. .
  17. Radio is sold pending final payment.
  18. Thanks I think these are not TA22's then, most likely RA23s or TA23s as the front looks slightly more flat.
  19. Not far from me is these 2 beauties. Both the same colour and interior white combo. Sadly they haven't moved in a while it would seem as 1 has cobwebs on it and some rust near the bottom of the rear window. They have been there for over a year now. It always makes me wonder what is in the garage if these 2 are left to sit outside a double-lock up garage. I think the closest 1 is a TA23 but can't tell for sure, the other I can't see the front. I am not sure exactly how to tell if TA22, TA23 or RA23?
  20. A few more photos of the radio now it's removed from the console. I discovered the antenna switch on this model is the same as the early 240z switch, 5630073 is the stamping on both parts. Loom in 1 piece. May consider selling radio for $250 without Antenna switch, I can include a blanking plate instead (although haven't checked it fits yet) but it should given the switch is the same.. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/13817-hitachi-radio-model-tm-1081za-trivia/
  21. PS30 00136 is the 901 silver car, just making note of it so we can keep track of it.
  22. That is a Prince Skyline GTB air box. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/11530-fs-76-260z-2-seater/?p=136854 http://bringatrailer.com/2008/10/17/rare-jdm-sedan-1966-nissan-prince-skyline-gt-b/ You will need to modify the backing plate otherwise I believe the airbox sits high and can foul on the bonnet. Personally I'd feel a bit awkward cutting up a rare airbox... But maybe I'm odd?
  23. Although not exactly related this came through this morning and might be helpful? http://www.autospeed.com/cms/article.html?&A=113239
  24. James sold it a while ago. Probably a year or so now? It was listed on here or at least referenced from here. *Edit. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/gallery/image/3610-no-caption/ More photos of it at the 2005 Nationals album.
  25. Silver 432 was on Yahoo! Auctions not that long ago. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/13116-the-global-z-car-s30s130-market-thread/?p=162572 http://30d.jp/stuff/25 But this was listed as 1970 model. I doubt Phil bought this 1.
