  1. Bezel, I might have a spare in Melbourne if you don't find 1 before I'm next down that way.
  2. I'm a cyclist myself, I ride to work daily. Thankfully I use a dedicated cycling path most of the time. I suspect in that video there is more to it than what we see at the start. Some people forget that on a bicycle / motorbike you are far more vulnerable than in a tin-can (car). I don't understand when people get upset over bicycle's on the road, overall cyclists are doing a good thing. They are reducing emissions, reducing the burden on the health care system and helping reduce congestion (less cars on the road). Some people think they should be bullied off the road or driven over, I dunno. But there is definitely a minority mind set that they are scum simply for riding a bike. Sure I've seen some cyclists take up an entire lane riding 2 abreast and I think that's stupid but far more drivers ignore you or don't see you especially when riding at night. Even more fail to stop at pedestrian crossings. So even if the bike rider was taking up a bit more of the road than he should, there's still no reason to blast by him, especially in an aggressive manner. I agree the cyclist shouldn't have followed him, nothing good is going to come of that, but he probably felt compelled to tell him off after driving aggressively near him. The problem is I suspect the camera doesn't make it look as close as it felt to the cyclist. Pushing that guy's buttons in fairness didn't seem all that difficult. To get so worked up like that, I dunno but he's heading straight into a heart attack at a relatively young age. He did kind of deserve what happened to him, although I hope he wasn't seriously hurt. He did threaten to kill the cyclist and it was pretty vile behavior. The fact it was all captured on Youtube and viewed at least a million times is probably a good reminder for him also.
  3. Radovan's special is up again. Asking: $18,000.00 http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/golden-grove/cars-vans-utes/eoi-1973-datsun-260z-2-seater/1097816438
  4. 260z 2 seater Clifton Hill. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/clifton-hill/cars-vans-utes/1974-datsun-260z-coupe-track-project/1097772308 Asking: $16,500.00
  5. I hate to be the 1 to say this, but that chassis rail rust looks pretty bad, I'd say the only real way to deal with it properly would be to replace the entire rail...I think you may have to decide what you want to with this car, given you have found quite a few patch up's already, it's likely there is a few more waiting for you. I don't want to discourage you, but you may be better off selling or parting it out and saving more money to buy a better starting point. It's totally up to you, but that chassis rail would make me nervous driving it.
  6. You forgot trashcan lid hubcap and topy steel wheel fetish.. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/11249-fashion-cycles/?p=133238 I'm just more into the idea of "A place for everything and everything in its place." Besides I'm just trying to add balance to the universe, if everyone is into flares and big wheels I'm going to pull into the other direction. Variety is the spice of life and all that. If everyone was going stock I'd probably get a bit bored and want to modify mine. Good thing I have more than 1 S30z eh?
  7. Photos from the 2005 Nationals I took. I like both, kind like the notch back 2 door a bit more myself.
  8. If you like that, you may also like Ronnie Pickering. The sad thing is, I suspect his partner in the passenger seat is subject to domestic violence at home.
  9. Surely a 240z is only better from an original standpoint? If going V8 I hardly see a difference. Same chassis and you can swap tail lights easily enough.
  10. Turns out the rel="nofollow" attribute is already enabled. So shouldn't be passing PageRank to Tubby Lees. Link away .
  11. To clarify I've not removed the link, just made it invalid so a webcrawler (say Googlebot) doesn't see it and index it and associate our site with Edward Lees, in effect giving his site some benefit in search results (PageRank). I could also add the attribute rel="nofollow". https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/96569?hl=en However I'll need to see if there is a way to do this, currently the forum software doesn't seem to allow this via the WSYWIG (what you see is what you get) editor. In some cases I have no problem promoting another site by linking to them, especially if they offer a positive service to the community. But in other cases like Mr Lees I don't want him to get any benefit as a result of our site linking to his.
  12. Sorry mate, they will be sold with the radio. Which reminds me I have to send someone a total price for the radio + shipping. If anything falls through, I'll let you know.
  13. Hi LockLock, Yes I'm still interested in the trims without the covers. Send me a PM? All my Christmas' are coming at once today, first D-Hubcaps now these lol... The headlight covers were optional in most markets, but came fitted as standard on the Fairlady Z-L and Fairlady Z432 , I'm actually not sure if they came standard on other variants at this stage but were definitely available as an option. Nice Fairlady 240Z-L here: http://petrolicious.com/articles/man-machine/this-nissan-fairlady-240z-l-is-a-rare-japanese-survivor I recently got a passenger foot rest for my 72 240z, installed the Rally Clock and think the headlight covers would give me the look I'm after.
  14. Thanks Alan, I nearly took a punt on a couple of those Japanese market caps. Glad I didn't, I had assumed I could attached the emblems to them. Which appears to be wrong.
  15. http://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/m151332377 Gah someone got a ripper of a deal I think...
  16. I've modified the links in this thread so they won't work. The reason for this is that this site has been around since 2004 and has built up credibility with Google in terms of SEO and I don't want that leech to benefit from this site linking back to his. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PageRank Just replace the URLs where you see a hyphen (-) with a period (.) character.
  17. Well Mr Muppet Lees had 1 for sale a while back. http://www-edwardlees-com-au/vehicle/datsun-bluebird-coupe-1970-2512(replace hyphens with period (.)) because don't want to link to Mr Lee's website (SEO). At $38,000 and it wasn't mint. It's sold now apparently, but that means some poor unfortunate soul had to deal with him.
  18. I think the later gauges incorporate the loom for the globes into 1 plug, where as the earlier cars had a separate loom for the globe and the gauge itself, at least the Calendar clock I have is wired that way. So I'd say you could probably swap bezels over and change the loom slightly and it would work in a '240z' dash. I should clarify also, the delimiters are usually for earlier 240z's (70/71) in 72 they removed the center / mid mark delimiter. For some reason I like the earlier style a bit more. Surprise Surprise . The metric unit is 1 of those cool subtle details I like.
  19. Yes desirable, is it a 4 door or 2 door? I don't know your definition of 'steep'? But for the right person a good car would be in demand I'm sure. 1600's (510s) were and are still very popular in Australia.
  20. Those look amazing Alan, I'll send you a PM, I wasn't expecting such a fast turnaround on my wanted ad. . Do you know if the D-piece in the middle is removable? I ask because I've seen a few in Japan obviously without the D piece and I wasn't sure if you can easily fit the D piece to them (as in it being detachable?). http://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/j374069936 I agree the TOPY wheel weight is going to be an issue, but supply is thin on the ground here at the moment. I think they all got turfed.
  21. Hi Everyone, No rush on this but I'd like to find a set of TOPY wheels date stamped 1970 to suit a 240z. I've found a set in the US and will import them soon, but they are 1972 date stamped. Not in a rush so just posting this in case anyone has a set laying around and decides to dispose of them and hopefully thinks of me first! Will also consider other years also as I may get them made wider. http://vital.sakura.ne.jp/NISSAN%20SKYLINE%20KGC10%20HP/Recent%20Conditions%20P%20-%2031.html http://vital.sakura.ne.jp/NISSAN%20SKYLINE%20KGC10%20HP/Recent%20Conditions%20P%20-%2012.html I'm also looking for D Hubcaps as below. Price subject to negotiation and condition.
  22. That looks like a later S30z version (suitable for 260z/280z dashboard). The earlier ones have a delimiter in the middle I believe. Pretty sure these were JDM only yo! They are quite expensive when they come up for sale also. $400-$500. Cool, and I'll get 1 someday... Or perhaps look at getting a standard AUDM version silk screen'd to look the same and recalibrate the gauge?
  23. Yeah I'm not sure it was designed to be a replica if I'm honest I think someone has modified a MOMO wheel to appear in the same style as the older Mach wheel.
