I've found a few nice Z432's listed via TAKEEY's they seem like a well known shop in Japan. Link to their website is here: http://takeeys.com/ I don't see any interesting S30z's listed at the moment but check in again in future as I'm sure they'll list some again and usually nicely restored looking examples.

Since I've been looking at CHECKMAN steering wheels, and 432-R stuff I found a couple of links you may like. You can see Ikeda Bussan seats in this PS30-SB. http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/34335-what-about-the-z432-r/?do=findComment&comment=306321 Along with the MACH steering wheel. You can also see this 240ZR has the same seats. (I'm guessing it's a CHECKMAN style steering wheel). http://www.classiczcars.com/gallery/image/2485-240zr-replica-interior/?browse=1 Here you can see another 240ZR with the Datsun Bucket seat and what appears to be a CHECKMAN or MACH style wheel. http://www.classiczcars.com/gallery/image/2486-works-240zr-dash/?browse=1 Guess who took those photos by the way? Enjoy. -

Hi Alan, Just found this website. http://www.rsmach.net/steering/steering01.html It seems like they sell good looking replica MACH wheels. Is this the company you were referring to earlier? The only thing they seem to be missing is genuine patina. Once you add up all the components it looks like it will still cost over $1000 AU. -
Just an FYI, set of 6 L14 rods on Yahoo! Auctions, asking over $600 AUD. http://page9.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k161547832

Generally speaking, yes I do. It's not always the best translation though so I have a friend who can translate some Japanese for me and helps clarify what an auction is for and what the description is when in doubt. -
Sikaflex might work.

Thanks mate, I considered that option of buying flat material and wrapping / glueing it, but wasn't sure how durable the glue would be. Any suggestions on a type of adhesive that would work?

Here is another good video, on a 912 Porsche. I particularly like his screen prints. Very cool.

I'm close to St Kilda so could make it down that way. Anyone else interested?

Yeah truly amazing footage what a new year treat and the quality was great. Nissan was really hitting their stride back then. Great to see the red 240z with the Topy steelies, the safari gold 240z doing the turning circle tests and the blue interior early 240z being used for ergonomics etc.. The s30z was wayyy ahead of its time really. When you think of how big American cars were in the 1960s and how a 240z is still relatively practical in terms of parking and fuel economy today.

No, the Yahoo! seats are ikeda bussan replica seats and were used in the PS30-SB and works Rally Cars. The other seats on Gumtree are DATSUN Bucket 8700-U0175 part no. (replica's and not the best I've seen to be honest). Similar but different. Both are cool seats but maybe not be comfortable for larger individuals. Or so I'm told. -

Photos of the crank... V0740
-
Thanks, yes e-go.com.au is probably a good place for a quote, would prefer to sell locally to where crank is located currently (Victoria) but will ship for interested parties.
-
The crank in and of itself doesn't really generate the power, it's all in the cylinder head work. The crank is good for low down torque. I'm not chasing HP in my cars at the moment, got other priorities.
-
I used to find these in NZ on trademe.co.nz but the problem is they are usually in a car or a complete motor and sellers don't want to separate. Then you have to ship them from NZ which can be expensive depending on your freight option (air vs sea etc..). However in recent years these have become much thinner on the ground, so finding them is hard. Here is the last LD28 crank I saw on Yahoo! Auctions. (91,000 Yen) - so $1,035 AUD before shipping or fee's etc.. http://page8.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/h215010297 another on there now for 73,000 yen with 2 days to go. http://page14.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/s476499543 Only reason I've put this up for sale is that I'm going to be getting some work done to an E31 cylinder head and that will cost me ~$1000 and up to do. Since this has been sitting around I figure I'd sell it to fund that, but given how hard they are getting to find now I'm only really willing to let it go if I get a good price for it. Otherwise it will go into storage until I decide to build a stroker.
-
If this goes ahead I might be able to bring my 72 240z out.
-
I'll clarify, I have 12 x L14 rods. So enough to make 2 stroker motors. As so often happens once I start looking for something I often find more than I need but grab it because I know it's rare and hard to acquire. Just looking at my records here. Set of 4 L14 rods went for 34,800 yen on Yahoo! Auctions in June this year. Set of 6 L14 rods went for 52,000 yen on Yahoo! Auctions in October this year..(look like they had some previous work done though).
-
Hi Everyone, I've had this for nearly 10 years now and not done anything with it, it is an LD28 crankshaft I bought from Stewart Wilkins motorsport around 2005 I think? It has the V07 casting in it and would need to be inspected professionally to make sure it's true and get it machined etc.. These are incredibly rare now, and fetch good money in the US and Japan, therefore I'd only consider selling it at the right money. I had intended to use it with L14 rods and build a 3.1ltr motor but I'm going to retain an E31 head and may even go L24 block to keep the 'original' feel of my 240z. I don't have any photos handy right now but happy to take some if requested. Prefer pickup from Melbourne or could post but weight will make it expensive I'd imagine. If not sold it will go into storage and I'll forget about it for another 10 years. . If interested I have a set of 12 (L14 rods) which I would also consider selling to complement your build. Price subject to negotiation and what you want. Price: $1,500 AUD firm without L14 rods, price with by negotiation.

Fairlady 240ZR http://www.yatsuzaka.com/gallery/PC/N-Z.HTML Ashley at Moorabbin Auto Spares has built a replica of a 240ZR. I've yet to see it yet in person, he's just shown me photos.

Yes in another thread I believe I discovered that 1974 was the first year of FM and hence the 260z got the FM radio. -
I decided to make my way over to the Z Club of NZ https://zclub.nz/viewtopic.php?p=39337 I was pointed to this thread. https://zclub.nz/viewtopic.php?t=149&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=30 Which contains a spreadsheet with S30z's in it. HS30 00352 is the lowest number in there and there is nothing else sub HS30 01000 in there yet. Although some chassis numbers are missing and registration plates are only supplied it would seem. Latest version of spreadsheet here. *Edit photos of HS30 00352 might be here? http://www.classiczcars.com/profile/858-240znz/content/?type=gallery_image
