  1. Yes great photos, so many 240K's. Don't think I've seen that many together, ever! Definitely have to be there next year.
  2. Sorry but the interior looked mint and the exterior colour were the same and I thought you put some panasports on your car? Anyway I actually thought it was a scam and they were using your photos but after comparing it I realised they are different cars. Just incredibly similar.
  3. NLA - Sending to a contact in the US to help with his restoration of a Fairlady Z. Thanks for playing.
  4. Do you know the red car's chassis number and engine number by any chance? It would be good to put it into the register and I'm sure Craig would like to know .
  5. Update: HS30 00288 - photos added. Yay thanks to Jeff43 for those. @Ian - I'll update those cars soon. @24Dat - I just checked and it's the most popular individual thread since August 3rd when I first put it up. So yes, it's very popular. Interestingly enough month on month 1 of the most popular pages I track is the buyers guide! http://datsun-240z-blog.viczcar.com/nissan-datsun-s30-buyers-guide.html and I never actually finished it (started in 2009), I really have to break it down and write it again. However it just goes to show there is thirst for information on these cars. I will have to migrate it to the new software and improve it.
  6. RHD Dashboard (HS30) but that is nothing remarkable. http://page10.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/m150806382 It was the tach that caught my eye! It could be similar to the gauge here. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/10007-72-240z-zg-tribute-the-everchanging-z-project-christine/?p=126463
  7. Datsun 240K Coupe in Blue! http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/dandenong/cars-vans-utes/datsun-240k/1096602964 $10,000.00 Negotiable Hampton Park.
  8. and it's gone...I almost thought it was a scam. I thought it was WA240Z's car. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/13397-for-sale-working-240z-clocks/?p=158831 I can't fathom a car in that shape going so cheap..
  9. Not exactly what you need but might help? http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/11823-evie-1972-datsun-240z/?p=148790 What you'll find is that the carpets in your car will need concessions for the Fairlady Z-L foot rest in the passenger foot well. So you might need to specially order an AU market '260z' passenger carpet which should have these cut outs. The carpets in my 240z were taken from a template out of a friends 260z 2 seater so it has the cut outs for the foot rest. Which I'll be installing in my red 72 240z for the JDM look yo!
  10. Hung put the current owner in touch with the seller of this Fairlady 240Z-L. http://petrolicious.com/articles/man-machine/this-nissan-fairlady-240z-l-is-a-rare-japanese-survivor We have very few Fairlady Z's in Australia but this was an example that came up for sale recently. https://picasaweb.google.com/107400787026175995661/HS30103407?authuser=0&authkey=Gv1sRgCNPj4YaDu_-IywE&feat=directlink Thought you might appreciate the reference photos of a very original example. Although the grille is AU market (not mesh like JDM) and the carbs look like English SU's and not the flat top hitachi's a 73 model would have had standard in Japan.
  11. He has a couple of Fairlady Z's over in the US and he said there is a small community of Fairlady owners in the states, so I thought you might know him. I also asked him if he knew you when you posted on the forum but he said he didn't.
  12. I recall seeing this car on Classiczcars.com - You can see the Fairlady Z-L foot rest also, we got that with our 260z's as a standard item. The car certainly looks nicer now than it did before.
  13. Sorry I know it's not an S30z, it's a P510 but I know we have a few 510 nutters around here. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/kingston/cars-vans-utes/1971-datsun-1600-sedan/1094719297 $500 in Tasmania. Looks like a good buy, if I didn't already have Datsun-a-ni-tus I'd buy it myself, but no space to park this baby...
  14. Yes that is the Fairlady Z-L, with the Jeco Rally Clock, under your dash in the passenger footwell there should be a yellow box, that is the oscillator. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/12840-twin-knob-rally-clock-install-in-to-an-early-s30z/ I am guessing the clock has maybe stopped working at this stage? But if you want it restored I'd recommend Ron at Zclocks.com he's done about 3 of these clocks for me now. Does top quality work and I love these clocks. The Z-S had more basic trim options, the radio / antenna switch was no installed, the clock was the basic Jeco clock (non Rally Clock) and the bumpers didn't have the rubber trim as mentioned above, along with other subtle differences. Based on the extra delimiters in your Temp / Oil pressure gauge I'm guessing this car is 70 or 71? *Edit you said 71 in the first post. Do you have any photos of the fog lamps or what's left of them?
  15. Since I was on the topic.. Now I want 1, don't think we got them in Australia sadly.
  16. Man I love these Mazda pickup trucks, kind of wish it was still rotary but still a cool build. Nice Patina on this thing.
  17. Nice Fairlady Z, do you know if it's a Z-S or Z-L? 2.0ltr or 2.4ltr? Does it have the Rally Clock in it? Do you know Hung Vu in California? Welcome.
  18. That's awesome that you can see where it ended up, note the 240K sedan as the tow vehicle? Weird that it says still registered yet, shows the NSW plates? Perhaps seller put those on for photos only? I hate the bright yellow plates in NSW. This is another good reason to have a decent registry with history on these cars. Don't suppose you know what the chassis number was?
  19. I don't disagree with that, I think most people (myself included) are a bit delusional about the exact costs. I actually don't want to know, because if I do I'll never get them done. I'd rather be a bit naive about it and not tally up every little expense and just try and enjoy the process as much as the result. However I do think that a top end well restored 240z will get the right money if the seller is willing to wait for the right buyer, but generally speaking cars like that change hands privately and the sum is not disclosed. We also don't see cars like that very often.. so it's hard to put a figure on the sale of such a car. I can tell you that in Japan $50K AUD is not the top end of the market for a good S30Z.
  20. It looks like a decent project, front of bonnet has a bow in it, looks like it was nudged at some stage. But otherwise looks complete and a good start for someone. E31 head was not standard in 1972, should be an E88 by that stage.
  21. I can't tell from the photos but was it reskinned or repaired? Are you keeping all the gauges? What about the heater control panel etc..?
  22. Good photos, looks like a few later arrivals also...
  23. That guard has been flared..
  24. Thanks Mark, eager to get in touch with him if possible.
