  1. https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/m233619636 72 Fairlady Z Current bid: 1,000,000 yen (AU$11,930.00)
  2. For comparison on my car, same sticker. Hard to know it's exact number without the full chassis code (unblurred) but of the HS30's I have recorded in that range. The 1 I know of being 904 white is HS30 01168 so my guess is that it's potentially around that number. HS30 01168 below. (It was on CarSales recently). https://photos.app.goo.gl/OeeZHf9h8JgojWR93
  3. This looks like an ex-AU market car, HS30 (but also has a NDSOC sticker on rear window). https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/x520201695 Buyout Price 500,000 yen (AU$5,965.00)
  4. Bit more about the story on this guy's cars here.
  5. Nice hand made car. Found it after skimming through this. and more on the channel here. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvDlcjivNGDfluG7C0FsXag
  6. Globally speaking 260z badges are rare.
  7. 260z badges are difficult to find. 280z is ok but 260z is rare.
  8. I saw that, but I believe they have moved on to. http://www.newoldcarcompany.com.au
  9. I found even OEM rubbers needed a little persuasion to fit, but didn't have your issue. In fact I had too much slack on the rear overriders. There is also the possibility of some bumpers being replaced through the years with aftermarket ones. So that may also be a factor?
  10. I just thought I'd leave a review of Phil's Rotary and the bumper rubbers they were offering to suit an S30Z. http://stores.ebay.com.au/phils-rotarys?_dmd=2&_nkw= https://www.facebook.com/PhilsRotarys/ There is none listed on their eBay store right now, but I bought rear bumper rubbers and the overrider strips etc.. It seems they fit fine, although the overrider ones (for the rear's) were a little long so are a bit loose fitting, I'm guessing maybe with some sunlight they will shrink a little? However for their price they are almost the same as OEM parts (OEM has part no. stamped in them on the inside).
  11. I don't know if I'll be in Melbourne. Otherwise would like to be there. Not sure if Mike can bring my door skin across on the flight? Could hand it to you Locky for #51. ?
  12. So I visited Warragul today and dropped my "good" bonnet down to Lachlan, the plan was to fit the non-vented bonnet on the 240z. I had sort of known there is some filler on the front-leading edge, but until stripping the paint back I never really knew what we would find. Curiosity got the better of us, and decided to mechanically strip the paint off. Discovered some pretty average past repairs (some very average brazing) - it still had holes in it! I shouldn't be surprised really, but thought it was in better shape than that! It will be repaired and painted a 'satin or semi-gloss black'. Then went past the Old Darnum Milk Depot. Which has been converted into a private residence. Figured it would make an interesting photo. I took the 240z out for a quick drive just because why not?
  13. Here is the 1 I have, let me know if you still want it. I can bring back to Sydney.
  14. My friend in the US has 1 a little bit bent though. Will see what he can do.
  15. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1970-datsun-240z-17/ Here is 1 to watch. HLS30 00305 build date 11/69. Great combo in my opinion 903 Blue with Blue Interior.
  16. Let me ask a friend in the US for you. These are not getting easy to find and the ones you do find have had more hits than Elvis.
  17. Apparently the owner of DATSUNSPORT was Bruce Wilkinson which Jason has already referenced here. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/13309-ross-dunkerton-and-datsun-in-australia/?p=157292 I think this might go in circles as is, since I don't actually know what CAMS wants myself and I haven't spoken to anyone involved with CAMS and over seeing what regulations apply. Is there any documentation that states what they will and will not accept? I feel like starting a new thread with the aim of figuring this all out might be the best approach. I'm happy to try and hunt down this information - even though I don't plan to race any of mine at this stage, but I just feel it's absurd to see S30Z's neutered by SU carbs, small brakes etc.. when alternatives designed for purpose were available if so required.
  18. I will try again tomorrow, it's actually more legible in the photo than it was in person. Perhaps from a distance it's easier to make it out? First time I've seen the wheels in person. My brother took the last photos for me.
  19. Wayne Couacaud worked at Johnny Rockerbox Nissan. 1 of his first jobs was to clear out all the old stock, which at the time was many (now very rare) sports options parts... If only we knew the location of the landfill, we'd go ET Atari style on it. So the parts did exist, they were for sale here and I'm sure someone bought them...I cry to think about what got sent to the tip though!
  20. Eagerly waiting for that video, have some idea of what this might entail but keen to see it in practice.
  21. OERs seem to be a good option if you don't want to pay the Solex/Mikuni tax. Usually later heads don't need welding up due to corrosion, but perhaps the previous owner of your head ran it without enough coolant for a long period of time? My E31 needed welding up, but it's about 10 years older compared to your P90. Not cheap to do, but only way to do it properly and the P90s are a good flowing head. Car should go good!
  22. How about this "chalk" mark on the inside of the rim? I can't make out what it says and it seems to rub off with my fingers so maybe added much later?
  23. Alan / Jason if all you need is date stamp from Australian dealer with date surely the Catalog I scanned here would suffice? http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/13740-datsun-240z-260z-280z-sports-option-parts-catalog/?do=findComment&comment=162568
  24. Speaking of SAAB Sonnets I was watching this guy's channel not long ago.
