  1. Just bumping again, anyone else looking for 1? Will need to contact Enzo to get more made shortly.
  2. I keep thinking we should change this thread to any HS30 bingo. Since I've started recording all HS30's I can find anyway. RE: #616 I have details about #614 and #618 which had L24-031415 but I don't know what colours they were. I must have got the info off the W.A Z Cars registrar because I have no photos of either car. It appears #615 was 903 Blue, which is quite a rare colour on HS30's
  3. Sold for $33,500 USD.
  4. Safari Gold with mood music https://orangecounty.craigslist.org/cto/d/datsun-240z/6469014990.html Asking $25k in Long Beach.
  5. There isn't a great resource in English other than various forum threads where you have to piece it all together yourself. Someone recently created a buyers guide for buying an S30Z (in the UK), and I feel there is a gap in the market for such a book, although Brian Long's book is quite good it's not completely comprehensive. A book like this Porsche 1 is sorely needed in the S30Z world. https://www.bookdepository.com/Porsche-911-Red-Book-3rd-Edition-Patrick-C.-Paternie/9780760347607 Problem is half the data is missing for our cars.
  6. I met Frank the owner in 2005 and have known him since that time, I saw his Fairlady Z-L when I went around 1 day to help him have a loan of a Mikuni manifold to use as a template. The car was sandblasted back to bare metal and restored many years ago, it was also painted that metallic red colour many years back along with the customised interior (which now looks dated, but that's the easiest part to fix). The L28 turbo blew up at 1 point I believe and Frank had Peter MacDonnell rebuild it, the car is definitely over engineered but done very well and was a true passion of Frank's. He's only really selling as he downsized from a house in Ivanhoe (where I met him years ago) and into an Inner City apartment where he has no room / workshop to continue working on it. He also told me at his age (70+) he can't really justify it anymore. If you were to build a similar car you wouldn't get change out of $100k for it. When Frank initially told me he was going to sell it, I contemplated selling the FD RX-7 and I think Frank wanted it to go to a good home and was kind of hoping I'd be interested, but figured I had enough S30Z's LOL..(then I went and bought HS30 01415 ) An L28 turbo S30Z would be a lot of fun though! I advised him the car was worth closer to $50k and provided a few examples of cars that have sold for good prices, but as Frank's car is custom and modified (it's not eligible to import back to Japan easily) and so that may limit it's appeal on a Global market level. The Shannon's auction should be interesting.. I think it should pull a good number, but as with anything depends on who's buying/bidding on the day. Keep in mind it's also a Fairlady Z-L and not a "240z" - which are pretty rare in themselves, you can just see the Rally Clock in 1 photo. I know it's not quite original anymore but that's also why it has the headlight covers with chrome trim rings. I would like to see it go to a good home also.
  7. Not sure, but to be honest anything under $45k is a total bargain anyway. Considering double that would have been invested in it. Anything under $40k and I'd be tempted to buy it myself!
  8. This is always my concern...
  9. Interesting it has no reserve!
  10. Hey Nick, I split this post out from the other rod thread. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/16866-maxspeeding-l28-rods/ Can you perhaps list more details and price?
  11. I believe very late home market cars (GS31's in particular had cloth seats like those). Go to 1min 11 mark.. https://youtu.be/N3sl-RwVfeg?t=1m11s However I don't believe earlier cars like 240z's had them, although I've seen what looks like dealer fitted retrims on some seats, perhaps because vinyl is so hot and horrible in summer and customers complained about it? So your first pic looks like a later S30Z seat design (late 260z possibly) but the second version looks like a later retrim.
  12. I'll say, they look like Weber IDF carbs which are downdraught, not sidedraught and therefore won't work on that manifold or set up. My guess is the seller is aware of this mistake and hence is selling...
  13. 904 white with red interior in NZ. https://touch.trademe.co.nz/motors/listing/view/1523892159
  14. Oh noes, could have used the windscreen pillar sections..
  15. You're going to hate me now, but after watching your video on door alignment, the twisted doors can be corrected with factory alloy shims that sit under the door hinges. I've messed around for a long time on mine and still not 100% correct (driver side) but partially that's because I used rare spares door skins to fix 1 side. As for the bonnet, I feel your pain I spent ages working on mine, but admittedly made quite a few mistakes (part of the learning process) and will likely use the aftermarket / reproduction unit instead. I don't like giving up either but sometimes it's the only way to move forward.
  16. I haven't watched the video yet, but if the bumper is sitting out wider it's probably a 2+2 bumper rather than a 2 seater bumper (which are getting harder to find now). The 2+2's are a little wider around the rear end and therefore need the wider bumpers.
  17. Hot tip Jeff, when pasting links to your videos in this thread, don't make them URL's, instead just paste the plain link text and the forum software will interpret the pattern of that text and convert it to an embedded video. If you place it in a URL or in URL tags then it will just treat it as a URL and won't embed it as a video.
  18. A 71 on BAT to watch. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1971-datsun-240z-44/
  19. This 1 was going around Facebook recently, a 240z restored (but not quite *original*) sold for $37,000 USD. https://www.facebook.com/Velocity/videos/1801133483254926/
  20. https://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/seller/happypiza
  21. Best place to get them would be Japan. Look for seller Happy Pizza on Yahoo! Auctions. I will see if I can find them.
  22. Wonder if same seller as this 1? http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/1924-cars-for-sale-3rd-party-sites-ebay-carsales-etc/?p=196788 Quite a few 2+2s with flares for sale in St Albans.
  23. Yes exactly, they are hoping you'll make an offer above what they want. They don't want to list a price in case you're willing to pay more than that. But in my case the idiot tells me he's an enthusiast not in it for the money. You can't not be in it for the money but knock back a genuine offer...*sigh* I'll let him offer it to the market and wait and see if nobody buys it.
  24. Not a used car cliche, but I was asking about a car part. Guy said to me I'm looking for offers, but I'm an enthusiast so I'm not really in it for the money. So I make an offer which I think is reasonable considering it's missing some bits and is usually sold in pairs but was a single item. Says no thanks... Just tell me what you want for it... And don't give me the I'm an enthusiast line FFS.... I hate it when people won't list a price.
