  1. I spend all day looking at the site and have been chasing headlight covers for ages, but last night was on the phone for a couple of hours when the covers got posted and was too slow. Lol... Not sure if that makes you feel better? Kind of like when you buy an S30z and nothing has been on the market for ages then within the space of a month you'll see 2 more pop up. ?
  2. To nit pick... they were actually Kobe Seiko 8 spokes. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/9553-kobe-seiko-wheels-works-rally-rims-and-more/?p=195712 http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/14558-the-ebay-thread-2-post-ebay-parts-here/?p=194985 An easy mistake to make... but the Sports Option Catalog actually is showing these parts.
  3. I'm also interested in headlight covers, can you put me second in line?
  4. Worth a watch on BAT. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1970-datsun-240z-19/
  5. So... you may want to be sitting down when you open this album.. https://www.facebook.com/pg/dcwclassic/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1819163044823013 My emphasis in bold, because this happens a lot... Attached are 2 before photos (before it was stripped down and the extent of the previous repairs known!).... Enjoy.
  6. V8 260z 2 seater for sale. https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/Datsun-260Z-1976/SSE-AD-5234513/ Asking $28k RS30 010301
  7. Yep I saw the car in Eastern Creek a couple of years ago. https://photos.app.goo.gl/TEiJh5ieWTiO4W5f2 https://photos.app.goo.gl/JKMH9JVET9VXXMGt2 https://photos.app.goo.gl/XXMzq6PUpqfMHOpZ2 Nice car and looked pretty solid.
  8. Ivan Jarmillo and Hung Vu have been collaborating on this project for a while. http://japanesenostalgiccar.com/san-francisco-skyline-by-petrolicious/ I've met both when in San Francisco. You may however find a re-skin job of your original dashboard is more economical, when you factor in cost AUD=>USD conversion $ and shipping rates etc..
  9. I was on my phone last time I replied so always hard to go into detail, but I believe the Resin tends to "shrink" over time and that leads to the cracking. I believe this new lot have a better Resin, and are a little more expensive to produce, but we really have no idea about longevity (since we haven't tested them long term in an automotive environment). Thing is, I bought an aftermarket reproduction knob w/button from ZCarDepot in the US for around $100 USD. Comparison here: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/15775-gearknob-inserts/?p=189382 But have no idea what kind of resin they used...we just decided to let folks know as a disclaimer and charge a small amount so nobody can complain if they do fail. . I will put you down on the list, but only will take money once the package has arrived and I can confirm I have them in stock Found this last night and yes the buttons are with your Koito lamp.
  10. I tend to agree, but have a look at the bumper. New might be too luxurious. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/11823-evie-1972-datsun-240z/?p=200641
  11. So I wanted to originally fit the rechrome bumper to Evie, but it's a bit too nice, given the paint has flaws in it and the front bumper was re-chromed 10 years or more back, but it wasn't done great. Instead though I'm going to use the reconditioned bumper on HS30 00150 and I'm swapping it with #150's bumper which I've cleaned up with steel wool 000 and WD40. Sadly it has some faults that can't be polished out including rust. But it has come up ok. The flaked off rust is an issue. So I'm thinking I might cover it with a Mikuni sticker, Tow sticker or just some kind of period correct sticker. A bit dodgy but it's only until I can re-chrome it in future. The left hand rubber will need to be replaced, thread here.
  12. Well that's what we were told by the trophy maker, as to how long they will last in the real world I have no idea. Hence why they were sold as cheap as they were.
  13. Tis quite the issue. haha. Needs whole new rails... I see Rudy went and had a look-see...
  14. Hi Folks, I am cleaning up a rear bumper for my 72 240z, I've polished the old chrome as good as I think it will get (given it's cosmetic issues etc..) and want to replace the rear left hand side strip (rubber piece) on the passenger side the vertical piece (not the overrider piece) as mine has cracked and broken off on the side of the 1/4 panel (right at the end) and a screw has come off it and someone has drilled into it from the outside to hold it in place. It doesn't need to be perfect (hence why I haven't bought a new 1) so a bit of age will suit it perfect, prefer not to have major cracks and still look like black rubber if possible? Should be to suit a 2 seater bumper rubber (can't recall if sides of bumper are longer/diff on 2+2 or if it's just the middle piece that's longer?) If nobody has 1, that's ok I may have a spare off another old bumper. Images below of what I'm looking for.. Price: prefer cheap... they are not much brand new so not going to spend a fortune on old ones.
  15. Yeah I agree things get stale and then I think folks think something is wrong with it and avoid it. People want things when others want them . I do note on the Green car it looks like the frame rail may be cracked below the battery box? So perhaps it's worse than photos lead you to believe. The auto may not help, but that's easily changed..
  16. Some missed out in the first couple of rounds, lots of folks in North America wanted them (because they had 4 speed buttons only). I gave a bunch to a friend in San Francisco and he's been slowly selling them for me over there. In return I've used the cash to help buy some parts over there and he will help ship back some panels this way at some point. I am surprised by how much demand there is actually. I think a few people grabbed a couple because we had the disclaimer that the resin may not hold up over a long period of time and may crack like the originals so people wanted spares? Sold a few to Lindsay at Zshop a while ago also, so I guess more and more people are trying to go original these days?
  17. I haven't been around the car in detail (or under it) but from memory it was pretty solid. I believe it was a Canberra car before the current owner. So that may have helped with the body. I do recall the front radiator support panel looking a little bit beat up, as with many S30Z's a minor front-end knock at some stage. But otherwise not too bad an example considering. *Edit link to previous seller ad. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/13517-datsun-240z-for-sale/
  18. I've seen #700 in person, the paint and body isn't as good as photos suggest. However rare in 919 yellow, and it appears to have some good money spent on it with the current owner (nice fellow) and has been scrubbed up quite a bit from when it was purchased, mechanically and aesthetically. First 3 photos in the Album are from when it last sold. https://photos.app.goo.gl/FUByNNWlMzn5WcqJ3
  19. David has posted me a bunch more, so yes more to come!
  20. I didn't comment at first because I wanted others to add their input before I did. I think somewhere between $12-$15k is the sweet spot. For comparison this Green 73 has been for sale for ages at $22k. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Datsun-240z-project-drift-drag-custom-show-jdm-original-solid-260z-280z/292390200077 Which surprises me to be honest, as I think it just looks rough given it's odd rub down, but actually looks relatively solid and straight and would scrub up well... I'd actually prefer the Green car as a project to this car, simply because it looks to have been messed with less. So I'd pay more for it than this white car.
  21. http://musclecarsales.com.au/?cars=unrestored-1971-mazda-r100 Sold...
  22. But look at the floors, they are not green that is grass haha.
  23. No problem I probably put them in your parts box I've been keeping here then. Will have to get it to you at some point.
  24. Did I not post them out to you? If not that's ok I probably do have them somewhere in a bag with my own collection. Can get more anyway from the looks of things.
  25. Please let us know how they go when you arrive and fit them? Some Korean car dealer is going to be wondering why suddenly there is a rush on for Sportage weather strips.
