By the way are those "roundels", are they vinyl? Did you make them up yourself? I think Ashley at Moorabbin Auto Spares used Adobe Illustrator to to create replica vinyl work for his 240ZR replica. He has a special printer used by sign writers / makers I think.

I must learn what is required... Want to recreate the stickers for the Works Rally Cars :).

Just about any printshop, Snap etc, can print from .PDF onto vinyl. Prices are very reasonable too.

Getting little excited about getting some custom work done on my Red 240. Just work shopped modifying my original steering wheel and replace wood with carbon and do the 3 steering arms in alcantara, Of course will now need to wrap the dash and I have new seats on order. Love thinking again about the new angle on this car. Going all out while trying to keep it clean isn't always easy. The 12 O'clock blue white red strip will be a challenge as the wheel as we know is thin and I think I can only get away with max 1mm stripes at best..Keeping fingers crossed!

Here it is ready to go.

On its way for  a complete re-trim. Going more racey on the inside.

Please post some photo's when it comes back.

Interior retrim is getting closer to the top of my To-Do list.

Cheers

I've had drivers side ADR approved seat from AMG ready for some time, just needed to buy another one to match for the passenger side. Today the new Recaro Pole Position arrived, so both getting re trimmed to suit.

So RECARO Germany never heard of S30's, but RECARO Japan has :), so order for rails to match landed there. Hope to see it here in 2 weeks.

Recaros are in and rails getting picked up from Japan. Now the steering wheel, almost there, looking ugly right now, but you can see where its heading :)

A pure delight to read  & follow your " rebuild " it's one heck of a car . Where did you get the flares from , I think they look spot on with the red ,which is also the color of mine so you've made up my mind to fit them on mine .

                                                     Regards : Alan .

Hi Alan. Thanks for the kudos on the RED240. Should meet up one day as I often go up the mountains for a blast. For whatever reason I keep falling off the radar for any meaningful owner get togethers', so happy to connect if you are.

Getting 1/2 cage done next week and then complete the interior remodel.

Oh and the flares I got years ago from some shop in Toongabbie. Cant recall the name now.

So this trial and error is now officially over. Went to twin rear dogs, didn't like it (wanted more 'bark'), replaced dogs with straight through pipes (have doggies mid way also) and was great on acceleration until about 5,500 RPM where is sounded awful and drumy on deceleration)..I could have lived with it on a racetrack, but not the street. SO, modified internal rear dogs, and it sounds almost right, so I'll leave it at that now.

The red on this Z is an amazing colour!! got some awesome parts you've put in to the car as well! nicely done :)

Thanks so lot!..I like to experiment. This colour has like 12 other tints. It kind of got out of control when you want to achieve certain depth.

OK, CAMS approved, removable 1/2 cage in. Apparently something changed with the regulations on removable cage components just week or so ago, so got this one just in. Now the Z is at the trimmers again, redoing whole of interior and my new Recaro seats. The roll cage will get wrapped too.
