  1. So what are you waiting for Gav? hahaha I have paused the add whilst I remove the cage, take better photos and reword the description. Thanks everyone for your help.
  2. Hey guys. Thanks for the further input, I had been thinking that the cage and race car theme may deter some buyers. I will remove the cage on top as well and re write the add to make it less "race" themed. Also Gilltech, car is indeed restored, took place in 2006 :) Thanks for the help guys
  3. Tripple's would turn it into a whole different beast, it's already a very fast car. A big shock to the senses with something that has that much get up and go and is well over 40 years old. That was the plan not long after I purchased it, but the money got chewed up in other areas and other cars. The plan was either to get a R34 GTR (unlikely), or completely downsize my collection to one comfortable daily driver. The reality is that I don't get to drive the car very often, I usually drive briefly it once a fortnight/ three weeks for maintenance.
  4. Thanks for the input so far guys. I can totally relate so far, I did ask for advice even criticism so it all is helpful. 1600dave 1. I totally agree with this stuff, I may be using the wrong language. 2. You are right about it's category, it doesn't really fit into any in particular. 3. Also right here, it would be best to take some less "impromptu" shots of the car and tidy it up. I will also remove checker plate floor mats and dashmat, with new photos showing their condition. Both no cracks and rust free but I can easily see how a potential buyer could mistake these for cover ups. Thank you
  5. Hi All, It has been a while since I posted but I am looking for some advice. I have had my car for sale for some time (price has fluctuated over this period, started very high. hope full I know). I'm sure many members have seen it. I now believe it is a reasonably good price, but I'm not getting many if any bites. The car has had a ton of money spent on it and (in my opinion) great condition for what it is. Add below. https://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Datsun-240Z-1973/SSE-AD-4354367/?Cr=3 I am wondering if it is advertised too high, or the fact that it has a roll cage in it deters potential buyers thinking that it has had a hard life? What would turn you off purchasing it if you were looking for a Z? It has only been babied in my ownership and am wondering if there is anything I could do to improve my chances of selling the vehicle (such as remove the cage)? I am not desperate but I do need the space. All suggestions warmly welcomed. V
  6. It may be? Supposedly the owner on Instagram thinks its called a Kamei FRP front lip. I couldn't find it anywhere online, so thought I should consult the experts on here!
  7. Thats terrible club! Sharing is caring lads!
  8. Reviving an old thread here but is anyone aware of who makes this front lip? And a side profile
  9. A bit of this a bit of that! Essentially only someone who knows there stuff could have figured it out!
  10. Once she is going and back in business you are going to have to organise another BBQ mate!
  11. haha i've spoken with Les, the secret is out!
  12. Hey Dat2Kman, First is Up Left, Reverse is down far right. Haha Lurch you do make a very convincing case! I guess it's because its someone I know that I think they would be able to resolve it. Maybe wishful thinking. Maybe because I paid them once and it didn't work and I like the idea of not paying again to get it re fixed, it's definitely naive. Also I don't have the facilities to take gearbox out and transport it to Warragul. I could potentially get the Z towed but I'm pretty sure the going rate of that would be close to another Z? Unless you know a cheap tow? If it was going in for the gearbox it would be there for a tune as well. ps although I don't listen to the guy, this is probably a bit better than that one haha https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPpxxrl0xhM
  13. A friends fathers shop in Mornington! I will see how we go this time around hopefully the issue can be resolved. If not then I will be towing it out to Warragul.
  14. Hi all. The other week was probably the second time in a month that I had tried to put the z into reverse with it stalling. Then once I start it up again I can't select any gear but 5th and the car drives forward in neutral like it was in first. About 2 weeks previously it did this and we took it apart and found there was something wrong with the detents in the gearbox and assumed the selector fork wasn't working. Upon closed inspection none of the shafts had been lubricated. Supposedly that was all resolved and only the second time driving it since the fix it happened again? No idea what is going on. Its a 260z dog box that was supposedly built by a gentleman by the name of Peter Hall. I have been told that I should just got and by and RB25 box for the amount I am paying someone to constantly remove and inspect the gearbox, but I just want to figure out what is wrong with it and resolve it. Honestly the car has been in the shop more times than it has been driven haha and I am starting to get sick of the tow companies knowing me by name! Any ideas what it could be? Something drying out the box I have no idea?
  15. Hi all many hands definitely makes light work, had about 5 of us move it from one trailer to another on a tyre and pallet! Easy as pie!
  16. Thanks for the input guys. Its been postponed to next Saturday now but will let you know how it goes.
  17. Hi everyone. This weekend the previous owner of my car should be bringing down the old L24 on the back of a ute/ trailer. Is there a way to transfer it between utes/ trailers (as not coming directly to my area) without an engine crane? Thanks
  18. I have a bad feeling about this to be honest!
  19. Hey guys. Will be getting at the z over the next week and just checking if there is anything I need to do before removing the seats and carpets! Thanks
  20. Looks fun mate!
