Scoota G Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Fitted the chrome booster to the Ricey yesterday. After I pulled the old, very tired one out I had a look inside for the first time since I've owned the car. To my surprise I found that the seal around the pushrod had cracked and and some shifty bugger had used silicone for a bodgey diy repair Would this huge crack/split stop the booster from working? I did notice there was no vacuum noise when I removed the booster hose, but the car hasn't run for quite some time. That wasn't silicone Gareth it was grease. The rubber stop behind the rod had become loose and was lodged in the booster. Quote
zr240 Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Cars looking great. think you will be at the nationals? Ash Quote

d3c0y Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Are those the repro indicator setups on ebay? Quote
Riceburner Posted January 27, 2013 Author Posted January 27, 2013 No Tim haven't received those yet, I'll keep them as spares. The park/indicators are new ones I got several years ago, I haven't seen the eBay type. Are they any good? Quote
Scoota G Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 I bought the ebay type us spec ones back in 2007. Perfect fit and cast a really retro light in the evening. Quote
Riceburner Posted January 27, 2013 Author Posted January 27, 2013 I bought the ebay type us spec ones back in 2007. Perfect fit and cast a really retro light in the evening. How have they held up Mark, Is the plastic/rubber quality as good as oem? Quote
d3c0y Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Do they have reflector panels inside them? Quote
Riceburner Posted January 27, 2013 Author Posted January 27, 2013 Mine did, I also covered most of the inside with foil tape. Make a big difference to how bright they are, especially in daylight. Quote
dat240z Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Nice buld mate, had a few quiet hours at work this morning so it was a pleasant read. One question - the louvered inspection lids, Ive been hunting for a long time on Ebay USA for these. Did u buy them or flute yourself??? Once again, top shelf work mate Quote
Fairlady Z Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 This is one sexy zg Gareth. Sooooo damn nice. Quote
Scoota G Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 How have they held up Mark, Is the plastic/rubber quality as good as oem? They still look new but they didn't come with rubbers. I just used the ones i had. Do they have reflector panels inside them? They didn't have the panels inside them but they can be fitted. Quote
Gordo Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 I have to hand it to you Garith, you have left no stone unturned , will be good eye candy at the Nationals. Great build. Quote
Riceburner Posted January 28, 2013 Author Posted January 28, 2013 Thanks guys One question - the louvered inspection lids, Ive been hunting for a long time on Ebay USA for these. Did u buy them or flute yourself??? I got them from Ebay USA, but I have seen them on Yahoo Auctions Japan too. They still look new but they didn't come with rubbers. I just used the ones i had. Nice to know Mark, they sound like a good replacement for worn out originals. Thanks to MJC(Matt) too, I picked up his old fuel tank yesterday from the targa team legacy car. Its been modified with twin fuel pickups, It'll go in at a later date After Nationals. Quote
Riceburner Posted February 2, 2013 Author Posted February 2, 2013 Started on the new exhaust. Decided to do it in 3" from the headers back, just as well I did... The exhaust shop did my system a many years ago and it was meant to be 2.5". The centre(only) muffler was 2" with 2.5" welded over the top, seems very restricitve to me? Not bad for gasless mig. It's only mild steel pipe for the time being, budget is being redirected for new tyres. Almost complete, slight little problem with my ebay 'glow in the dark' fuel hose What was I thinking! Yes that's right, even more crappy Iphone pics of basically the same car. Mmmmmmmm dusty Genuine ZG's have a color coded rear bumper such as grey/black. I'm tempted to try it, not sure though? Chrome always looks great. Quote
benny Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Love the look G Man... not sold on the rear spoiler, but maybe I just need to see it in person!! Quote
luvemfast Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Looking the goods. You'll definately notice the aero difference at PI. Quote
Fairlady Z Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Love the muffler 432r style. Where did u find it?been looking for one. Colour code the rear bar to match the front lower section. Also mirrors in matt black. Are they watanabe wheels? Looks great love to see it in person. Quote
MaygZ Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Car looks great. On an unrelated subject: How do you keep you driveway looking so neat? Is it very new? Mine is from the same material and looks like crap after only 12 months :'( Quote
