Moderators Zedman240® Posted July 13, 2010 Moderators Posted July 13, 2010 Great news.. I remember I took mine off the road when I had it registered; started the bodywork and mods. As soon as it was finished, driven and raced straight away! Quote
reverendzed Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Well done Steve, I love your tenacity! Pop around soon for a show and tell! Rev. Quote

Stivva Posted July 14, 2010 Author Posted July 14, 2010 Well, it will be Sydney bound this Sunday, but not without a final Victorian hurah this weekend. Sunday she will be a Sydney sider, though still technically a Vic car, reg at my folks house (can keep my plates that way) Quote

benny Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 hey stiv... any updates man?? i see youve got orange rims in your DP, photoshop or not?? Quote
Stivva Posted February 2, 2011 Author Posted February 2, 2011 Updates? Sure. Orange wheels, Hangring, Engine rebuild on the way and new paint inside the bay. Quote
benny Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 looking hawt!!! im going for a similar look.... where did you get your hang ring?? Ben Quote
Stivva Posted February 2, 2011 Author Posted February 2, 2011 Ebay, but I managed to get a genuine one, be careful what you buy. You might get a 'replica' old subway ring. You can tell by the metal fasteners that hold the strap together. I have my earls fittings to go into the Engine cover, but I am yet to tap a thread into the cover to install them. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted February 2, 2011 Administrators Posted February 2, 2011 I like the dirty primer look with orange wheels. Reminds me of this Porsche 944 with the orange rims: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IaCeALU0muI and this FD RX-7 http://www.motormavens.com/2009/08/webmining-maxpower-marks-fd3s-rx7/ Quote
KatoKid Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 +1 the Matt paint and contrasting wheels Quote
Sirpent Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Stivva, Very impressed and have to say that I agree with the boys somehow the colors and finish work I'm thinking WW2 Micsherspitt ME107, almost looks war like. Cheers John Quote
Riceburner Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Very nice mate, Love the Mirrors too. I've always wanted to hear an Lseries with the cannon on the back, any chance of a short vid Quote
Stivva Posted February 3, 2011 Author Posted February 3, 2011 Thanks guys, I promise I will set up a video once I put the engine back together. The cannon does not affect the note of the exhaust too much, as it is just a muffler and tip in reality. And each one is going to sound different. That said the car does sound special (but then again, don't all of our cars). The car will always be matte, but I had planned to paint it the Gunmetal grey from the 370z with a Satin finish. I am also going to tint the windows and paint the front bar gloss black. About the wheels; the paint is a line marking spray can (from Bunnings) it comes off with thinners and you can get it in fluro Orange, pink, green, yellow and blue. So I could in theory paint the wheels a different colour every week. But I will end up powder coating them Orange I think. Quote
Stivva Posted February 8, 2011 Author Posted February 8, 2011 Tapped my fittings into the cover and its ready to go back on the engine Quote
Sirpent Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 Looking sharp and clean there Stivva. Quote
Stivva Posted February 27, 2011 Author Posted February 27, 2011 I spent some time in the garage this evening which is a little funny, as I just went down to visit my Dogs. But I ended up relocating and tidying a whole mess of wires, removing a bunch of unwanted things and repainting the radiator. I am going to take the plunge and order a Cusco strut brace from Nengun to add a little to the engine bay. I also gave the bay a hose down to remove the layer upon layer of dust building up. I have also built the cardboard template of my oil catch can to where the battery used to sit. Now I just need the new leads and I can drive down to the paint shop for the engine bays new coat of paint. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted February 27, 2011 Administrators Posted February 27, 2011 Awesome work mate car has really come a long way since it was first acquired by yourself. Always good to see a car revived like that. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted February 27, 2011 Administrators Posted February 27, 2011 By the way how come you have 2 oil breather hose / adapters on the rocker cover? What's the second 1 for? Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted February 27, 2011 Moderators Posted February 27, 2011 Looking nice and spiffy there.. nothing like a clean engine bay to spot problems when they are still small and pre-destructive! Quote
Stivva Posted May 25, 2011 Author Posted May 25, 2011 I havent updated for a little while. I had to rebuild my brakes all round so I have purchased new discs from eBay. I must admit that I anyone wants to replace their discs with factory style items the guy on eBay that sells for $130 a pair is fantastic. Great Genuine RDA rotors. Very happy. I haven't chosen my pads yet but was thinking Bendix ultimates. What have other people used? I am going to install a 280zx election ignition system as well. Basically I am focusing on building up the mechanicals and reliability of the car. I know, reliability and zeds. Doesn't go hand and hand, but I am trying! Quote
C.A.R. Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 That front spoiler needs some adjustment, Steve... Quote
