One small step

 

Just got a Xmas presi out of the U.S.

 

Ordered this custom built 10/90 amp inductive fuel level unit for the donnut tank matched to the Zed's fuel guage for 10 amp full 90 amp empty set up.

In the mean while, just went down to see the boy's, all should be finished up tomorrow of Friday, here are some pic's of the flywheel in final stages of cnc'ing.

That engine looks so tall.  I know you've measured it more than a dozen times, but it looks like you wont be able to get a cigarette paper under the bonnet.  Are you going with one of Scoota's funky bonnets?

Plenty of room, remember its replacing a tall OHC straight six, looks deceiving because its shorter and looks taller.

 

By the way, John.B. at ARC says Hi, and asked are you still the biggest SH*T stirrer on this forum as you were back in the day?

Is it all located off the central bore? Seems to hang out a long way.

That's sweet as bro!

 

Bellhousing looks really small diameter, whats the flywheel size? Only ask because I reckon a large enough single plate to handle the torque wont fit.

Funny enough, the dimensions were modelled after myself, 9 inches  ::)

Yep, that is small! Confirms that dual plate will be the only option for anyone doing this conversion.

You aint kidding, when I saw the flywheel being turned in the CNC it looked smaller than the dinner plates we have at home, but interestingly the same 9 inch clutch pack is used on the V8 soarer supra box conversions and apparently there are twin turbo versions running around with the set with no issues.

I don't doubt for a minute that the twin plate wont cope, its more for those people who may want to go with a cheaper single plate setup.....they wont be able to.

True David,

 

Not everyone cup of tea as an alternative, but considering the CLAIMED durability and dirveability of the clutch set up, which I dont doubt, which is around $1500 off the shelf from ARC, It may still seem expensive but overall an acceptable cost.

Wow $1,500 is a ripper price. You wouldnt bother with single plate for that price.

Just so theres no confusion, $1500.00 is for the clutch only, for those reading this, not the entire conversion kit I commisioned, thats another $2000.00 + worth.
