Is that a sunroof I see?  ???

Never understand why people do that to a zed - why cut up a good roof line, why introduce a potential for leaking (well in Australia Rain is not an issue - you guys need rain, unlike NZ water/rain can be a problem), just left the roof alone, sell me the car without cutting it up and go and purchase a MX5 or a car with a targa top.

Hey Bruce, well I was all set to go out and then...............realised that all my big mouthing that if I find a 260 2 seater I'll sell my RevZed beast was more hot air than I could afford! so rather than be tempted I decided not to go! sounds like a confessional! ;D

...bummer. I did go and check the car out on Tuesday. It was actually pretty nice. I took a heap of pics with my phone. I did'nt bother going today as I expected you had your sights on it Rev. Does'nt matter it could have only got me into trouvle at home. I was thinking of sneaking along and bidding up to 3K for it. The car looked like it had been sprayed about 2 or 3 years ago. Not the best job but not a bad one either as all the windows looked like thay had been pulled when it was done. No signs of any serious rust in the critical areas although I could'nt get right under the rails. Interior was ok with ripped drivers seat, good door trims, average center console and from memory small cracks. On the open market I would have expect this car to fetch between 7K to 10K.

Anybody know what it sold for?

Thats it, we found it today but the gates were shut, we are going to have a good look at it tomorrow. He must have got it for around 4k i reckon. In the car yard he's got it on for $6990. Shame about the sunroof.

whats the deal with the payin out on the sunroof? Just a personal choice or is it structural strength reason for all the racers out there. Cant be that hard to weld it up.

Hi freshin_j

Im not against sunroofs but from my prespective i would have only bought it to do up and then move on again. I dont mind sunroofs but from a re-sale point of view it takes one or two G's off the car. I have been told that you cant repair a sunroof, even if you weld it, paint it, bog it what ever it will crack again.

I always go with the theory of what ever floats your boat as far as modding cars go :)

For the record I welded in my sun roof and it came up fantastic. Mind you the guys that did it were pretty good. Check it out on the 6th.

correct not a fan of a sunroof but for those $$ I would have even purchased it and shipped it to NZ for that (assuming it looks as good as the pics tend to show it)

Greetings guys, first post for me - new member.

I was watching this 260Z on eBay - thought it might be my entry ticket to the fine world of Zed-car automoting but a re-exam of my finances told me otherwise. Still though, I was interested to see what it went for.

Seller removed it from eBay early, shortly before it was due to finish. Anyone from here bought it from his yard I wonder?

I'll keep searching for my Z ...

Cheers.
