  1. @CBR Jeffit is surprising how much upper body you use. I fitted a droper post to my bike which I tried out at Lysterfield this morning, seemed to do the trick on some descents however I am still not instinctively using it which hopefully will come with practice.
  2. I did the Lake Mountain Cascades trail 2 weeks ago. Got the shuttle to the chalet and was expecting a cruisey 2hr trip down the mountain with the Marysville bakery for lunch. How wrong I was. I was so under prepared. Had 1 bidon of water and no food. I found it Super technical (for someone of my ability). Got back down to Marysville around 4 and a half hours later absolutely spent. Couple of pints at the Duck inn helped immensely.
  3. I agree that it seems a tad low, although there is $3000 in purchaser commission on top of that. Also, Is it a widely known site for selling (and buying)?
  4. @Gordo, I saw you were at Phillip Island on the weekend putting in some pretty quick times. Be very interested to hear how the car went.
  5. Thanks for the clarification @gilltech . My door key doesn't open my hatch lock, but I thought it may have been due to age. It does however open the petrol flap. I hadn't even thought of using it on the glovebox lock.
  6. Apologies for the thread steal, but out of interest are these keyed differently to the door locks?
  7. There was only a couple of photos that looked like historical photos, nothing Current
  8. https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/gerringong/cars-vans-utes/datsun-1969-240z-built-for-targa-and-marathons/1257213556 Anyone know any history on this car?
  9. hey thanks for following up. I will send you a pm cheers Bruce
  10. I have been gifted an imitation Nardi steering wheel without a boss kit. Would anyone have a generic boss kit before I buy one retail? The BCD is 70mm and it is 6 bolt. thanks Bruce
  11. Wow, what a journey. Kudos to you Andrew for your persistence. Looking forward to further updates.
  12. I am heading up to Bonnie Doon this weekend to check out some of these tracks. Bought a Pinarello FP3 a little while ago which has taken my time away from my Z. Brilliant bike I would be keen for a ride down the track if there is interest
  13. Thanks for organising, but unfortunately I am riding up to kinglake so can't make it. cheers Bruce
  14. I don't think I need any bits, but I need an excuse to get my car out of the garage and blow some cobwebs off. Let me know the date Dimitri cheers Bruce
  15. I had an off at my last track outing (a while ago). I had an adjustable tow hook similiar to the velo item. Unfortunately, because of where the hook was attached and the angle to the tow vehicle, my bumper came of second best. The loop on the hook needs to be almost forward of the bumper to stop this happening. Thats why I thought a solid hook would work better. Any thoughts?

have you got any photos of your restorations that you would care to share?
  17. I got a reply from ZCCJDM, "Thanks for your inquiry.... I have a batch being powder coated shortly.. Please give me a few weeks, and I should have new stock of both 240z and 280z style brackets. If you buy in Qty for the shipment, it would be much more economical. Shipping for a USPS Priority, costs about $45...... This would be for either 1 set, or as many sets as I can fit in the box. ( guessing max of 4-5 sets in a box.)"
  18. for the price, these seem like a great buy. I'll check to see if they are available. If they are, is anyone else interested in a group buy? (apologies for thread hijack)
  19. hey Mick, 1200 coupes are great. I have one sitting in my garage next to my zed waiting for some loving one day. I used to sprint one with an L20 in it which was great fun. (Unfortunately I sold it) Make sure you post up some pics up if you purchase them. The Auto coupes have a bigger tunnel than the manuals so are more suited to engine conversions (without modding tunnels). Looking forward to hearing more cheers Bruce
  20. well done Ash, Is there going to be an official / unofficial grand opening?
  21. I can't believe this hasn't been snapped up already. Where are all the buyers who are on the forum constantly saying they want to buy a Z. goodluck with it Dimitri
  22. hey thanks Dale, I might look into it. another issue with them is that they aren't highly sought after like a ford or chev of similiar vintage so unfortunately the market for them is quite limited. cheers Bruce
  23. Has anyone had any recent experience in trying to buy or sell vintage / veteran cars. Quick background to the question, my father in law pasted away earlier in the year leaving a 4 car garage containing 2 1920's Nashs, one is restored and one is in the early stages of restoration. There is also 2 1946(7) Nash sedans, one which is running and registered and the other complete but requires total resto. I have been given the task of clearing out the garage, and whilst it would be great to be able to keep them, it is not possible if I am being realistic. So my question is, can anyone recommend a suitable place to try and sell them? I have a vague idea regarding their value. cheers Bruce
