  5. yep, I have one you can borrow, I think Matt (Bigfella) has finished using it for the moment. It is in Mont Albert at the moment if that is not too far away cheers Bruce
  6. hi Matt, I have used the same type of cutter as the one in the link with reasonable success. The most successful way I found to use it without breaking the cutter is to use the drill on a slow to moderate speed. Initially the drill was set on high speed and wandered all over the place and I broke the cutter. I didn't drill a pilot hole, but did centre punch it first. You can also buy replacement cutters so you don't have to replace the complete drill bit. Hope this helps cheers Bruce
  7. Matt, Well done on the purchase. I have an engine crane that you are welcome to borrow for the engine removal if you are interested. cheers Bruce

    1/2 Cage

They put a 6 point cage in a 1200 coupe a had a few years ago. Really good guy to deal with. He loves his datsuns and had some really interesting projects in his workshop whilst mine was in there.
  10. Hey Matt, have you got a specific car in mind, if so can you share anymore details? cheers Bruce

    1/2 Cage

I have a brown davis cage in mine. From memory, It was about $850 a couple of years ago. Powdercoated, fittings for your harnesses and fitted.
  12. I am assuming this is the ex George Fury 120Y? Looking forward to seeing some pics? cheers Bruce

  14. great day, thanks heaps to Lurch and Rev. It has given me a bit of confidence to try my hand at doing some repairs. Looking forward to the next one. cheers Bruce
  15. I will bring a spare as well, cheers Bruce
  16. Have you tried soaking it in WD40 and letting it sit for a while? It has worked a few times for me
  17. I will come down for a look as we are staying down at the Island that weekend!!! Are the MSCA events both days or just the Sunday?
  18. Good to hear everyone had a good day on Sunday. I was Marshalling on Pit Straight on Saturday. There was about half a dozen zeds running. Everyone got a heap of track time which is good. Really well run event by Dan Devenish and Andrew Woods. Daniel Moore (who had his car out on Saturday) is going to look at my car hopefully this week to sort out the electrical gremlins. When is the next event that everyone will be running at???
  19. I think they could still be looking for flaggies and officials, so if you feel motivated and want to get a good spectating point on the track, let Dan know (no experience needed)
  20. I bridged the wires as per your photo Dimitri, but it still isn't working. I am pretty sure I have the earth and the thick white with red stripe wire in the correct spot. Has anyone got a diagram of how the wiring connects to a bosch internal reg alternator? cheers Bruce
  21. Lurch, where's the Autokhanacross? On bitumen or dirt?
  22. thanks Dimitri for the photo. That makes the bridging of the wires a bit clearer. I need to have a look at the connections on the back of the alternator to see if I can work out what is the 'L' terminal on the 'T' shaped connector
  23. I bridged the wires above as described and put a diode between the white and yellow wire (with the strip on the diode facing the yellow wire). The diode burnt out almost immediately when I started it up. Any thoughts on what I have done wrong? cheers Bruce
  24. thanks for your assistance everyone, I have the day off, so I will get into it. Lurch I will give you a call cheers Bruce
  25. pretty handy tool to have, do you hire out it services?
