  2. it is just around the corner from my place if you need another option happy to assist cheers Bruce
  3. OK, with a week and a half to go, I am trying to get the Z ready to go for the John Mott sprint at Sandown. Last couple of things to do: 1. The front Air Dam. It is currently loosely attached by fixings to the left and right guards. There doesn't appear to be anything else holding it on. Can anyone with a similar front spoiler let me know how there is attached. I am concerned the way it currently is attached, that it might let go. 2. I have changed the alternator over to a internally regulated bosch unit. Just wanting to know which 2 wires I need to bridge with the diode on the plug that originally went to the external regulator. thanks for your help cheers Bruce
  4. hi, looking forward to following your build thread. what are your plans? cheers Bruce
  5. the wings were too wide. I don't notice it being off centre, but people who drive it for the first time always comment.
  6. just a reminder about the John Mott Sprint coming up in 2 weeks at Sandown. There is currently about 30 entrants for the Saturday and the Sunday. As it stands you will be getting at least an hour of track time on the Saturday and up to 9 runs on the Sunday. There is still time to get your entry in, Hope to see you there cheers Bruce
  7. I have an OMP seat in my Z. I had to mount it off centre as it was too wide.
  8. the n14 pulsars had the sr20 in the TI's and some Q's as well they are getting on to 20 years old now, so getting one with reasonable kms is a task
  9. I have an N14 sss pulsar, great car for the money. The SR20 is a great motor. It just loves to rev
  10. excellent, yep, after the front calipers as well when can I pick them up? cheers Bruce
  11. I travelled along the Bruxner Highway last year between Casino and Ballina in Northern NSW. Fantastic bit of road. Pity I was in the Territory rather than the zed.
  12. I'll take the front calipers if you still have them. Have you got panel that sits under the front bumper, I think there is 3 pieces to it? thanks Bruce
  13. thanks for the link, heaps of info there, cheers
  14. thanks for the replies. The centres are flaking, so I need to get them prepared properly hence the need to strip them down. I have removed the bolts in the past but couldn't get the rim to split.(I didn't cut the silicone bead) There is a company in Rowville that will sandblast them and powdercoat them for between $25-$50 a centre which I thought was quite reasonable. I will have another crack at it, cheers Bruce
  15. Hi guys, I have some 3 piece watanabes that need the centres painted. Just wondering if anyone has pulled them down to paint before and whether it is a straight forward process or whether I am better to send them off to get done? I have been quoted minimum of $100 a rim from a couple of different places. let me know your thoughts? I can put some photos up if that helps? thanks Bruce
  16. I am entering but not sure if I am doing the Saturday or Sunday at this stage. The better half (and keeper of the finances) wants to go for some laps and they are having passenger sessions on the Saturday. If I am not running Sunday I'll definatley be flag waving or marshalling. cheers Bruce
  17. can you post a pic of it up, as I may have one cheers Bruce
  18. sounds great, suggestions for a car to go on show: Lurch's mystery vehicle unveiled
  19. If you get a copy of that letter can you post it up on the forum. I imagine this issue will crop up again in the future. cheers Bruce
  20. happy birthday Dimitri, I hope you got your fair share (and then some) of Z bits as presents cheers
  21. gday Rev, Try Mammi motors in Somerville. They sorted out my dellortos. Gerald or Chas (the owners) had heaps of Dellorto bits last time I was down there. If not they may be able to reccommend somewhere. cheers Bruce
  22. I have currently got a Hitachi external reg alternator on my 240z. It has finally called it a day. A while back I bought an L28 out of 280zx which came with all accessories including an internal reg Bosch alternator. There is countless threads on the net about upgrading to the internal reg Hitachi alternator but I couldn't find anything on the equivalent Bosch unit. I bolted it on last weekend. There is four wires on the current alternator. The wiring on the alternator seemed to be ok. From what I read, I use the Red and White wire (which feeds power to the battery), the black wire and the yellow wire. The other wire is now redundant??. I just have a question regarding the external reg plug. Does anyone know if I need to fit the diode that is described in the Hitachi IR upgrade and if so, has anyone got any pics or can describe the fitment of this? The other option is to order one of the plugs which has the diode included. thanks Bruce
  23. Did anyone get along to Shannons last night to see what this went for? cheers Bruce
