  5. Is anyone thinking of competing in the Phillip Island Sprint 20th & 21st of October. supregs are here: http://www.piarc.com.au/files/PIARC 21 Oct 07 sprint.pdf
  6. Rod, Its the front 24mm whiteline. The car has lost a lot of its lean that it had with the standard bar. It will be interesting to see how it goes down at Phillip Island around the big sweeping bends like southern loop. That will be the real test.
  7. John Mott update: I got the car out this morning for its first run at Sandown. Third lap in, I hit my elusive 120mph down the back straight, 4th lap, bottom corner before the back straight changed down into second (possibly over revved) blew the clutch. The new cam and new exhaust sytem worked a treat and the new sway bar made a huge difference to handling. Can't wait to get back out there. cheers Bruce
  8. I am running on Saturday. Just had a new cam, Extractors, exhaust and swaybar fitted so I'll be hoping for a bit more go than last time. Also will be helping out on Sunday From the current entry list, I am the only Z on Saturday but there is a few more running on the Sunday Should be good if the weather is fine cheers Bruce
  9. there is these units on ebay, not sure if they are too big though: link
  10. The current rules on CH plates (in Vic) are that they are only supposed to be used to go, to and from sanctioned club events and to and from a place of repair. If you are pulled over using the car outside of these guidelines you can be fined. I suppose more importantly, if you have an accident and you are not meeting these requirements you are theoretically driving an unregistered car and as well as being fined you might not be covered by insurance. Because of rorting of the system, there is talk of going to a national system whereby you can use the car 90 days a year (which works out to be most weekends) but you must keep a log book. I think this is currently how the system works in SA.
  11. thats a great price, where abouts did you buy it from? cheers Bruce
  12. I have an aftermarket OMP race seat in my car.I have used the original 240z runners bolted to the bottom of it. As has been mentioned above you have to be careful about the width of the seat. I had to mount it off centre so that the upper part of the seat would not contact with the door. The offset is minimal and I can't tell once seated that it is off centre. cheers Bruce
  13. great find!!!! I look forward to hearing the progress of the restoration. cheers Bruce
  14. Not sure if this is correct or not, but I was informed that the 240z box was the same as the 240K box mentioned above. Can anyone substantiate this?
  15. dalee, there is a new one for sale on ebay at the moment, but it looks quite expensive. You could check with Nissan, as I have got a couple of couple of things from them and was surprised by what they still stock, or can get in. (and reasonably priced) ( I was typing this while twosixty posted his message) cheers Bruce
  16. Ash, Can you give me some specs on the motor? cheers Bruce
  17. I'm interested Ash, so let me know the details when your ready!!!! cheers Bruce
  18. Ash, does this mean you have an L28 taking up space, looking for a home? cheers Bruce
  19. Ash, when do you think your car will be going again? What stage are you at with it currently? cheers Bruce
  20. I got mine reconditioned at BGT brakes in Hawthorn. From memory it was about $60 each. There is some new ones on ebay at the moment as well. cheers Bruce
  21. There is a list of approved engineers on the vicroads website, Vic roads I would recommend a guy in Heidelberg from the vicroads approved list: Paul Bottomley(VASS No.1037) Automotive Performance Solutions Pty Ltd 14 Vernon Avenue Ph: (03) 9455 3222 he was really helpful and pointed me in the right direction. It is good to speak to someone like him before you start, to avoid any pitfalls and to tell you what you can and can't do prior to doing the mods. cheers Bruce
  22. looks like a great purchase. Looks very neat and tidy. what are your plans for it? cheers Bruce
  23. sounds like a great find Dale, How did you find it? What are your plans for it? cheers Bruce
  24. The whole point of this thread was about how good motorkhanas can be. I made the point that NCCA attempted to get one incorporated into the Nationals. NDSOC are running the event and it is there prerogative as to what is included and what is not.
  25. NCCA approached NDSOC to run a motorkhana at the nationals. (NDSOC never responded unfortunately).
