  1. Thanks Cracker. So you say the 2+2 is a more desirable car. Even considering the racing history of a 1600. Anyone actually use the back seat of a 2+2. I have a little one that might take a ride every once and a while. Cracker - I knew lurch was eluding that it's a childish question but being a teacher I say there's no such thing. Thanks for all the advice so far.
  2. Cracker - I asked on a Z forum because I'm leaning towards a 1600 and was seeing if someone could convince me otherwise. Lurch - I don't understand this comment. Holidays have just finished if that helps. Cozza - thanks for your detailed reply. You stated all the reasons I'm leaning towards the 1600.
  3. If you had to pick a project and couldn't afford a 2 seater, would you pick a 2+2 or 1600? Feel free to say why as well.
  4. As the heading suggests. Are all L28s the same used in other models such as the patrols. New to Datsun and was looking for help before I purchase the wrong engine.
  5. Still looking.
  6. Forgot to add I'm in Melbourne
  7. Looking for an l28 or l28et in need of a rebuild.
  8. Cant believe this hasn't gone. If i wasn't getting married in May I would be all over this but unfortunately all cash is tied up. If its still around by then you know you have a buyer here lurch
  9. Great cars, just sold mine. Wouldnt say they are a true daily driver though
  10. How hard would it be to run a cloth over the car though. its prob worth the asking price but common a little clean would help.... Especially seen as its unfinished, wouldnt you want it to look its best
  11. whats the deal with the payin out on the sunroof? Just a personal choice or is it structural strength reason for all the racers out there. Cant be that hard to weld it up.
  12. Hmmmm if its from Edward lee's shop, havent heard the best about the other cars they sell. Im sure their personal cars are a diff story though.. Just had a look though and they also have imported another 240z but doesnt have a price.... Maybe they are getting into the older market as well now.
  13. Oh classic, yeah thats the one. Thought it was an RB30DET. ANy chance you would pass on the mag for a price? That car was the reason im looking for one now that i can afford it.
  14. Hi guys, Just wodnering if anyone can help me find a 240z that was in hot 4s (might have been Street Machine) around 1998/99 (might be earlier or later) It was a dark blue rb30det powered car and i think it was from QLD. From memory i also think the owners name was Peter. Once again could be wrong. Any help would be great.. Cheers Chris
  15. Ok boys this might be a very very silly question but would any of you use this as a daily car? http://wazregister.com/zindex.php?action=classifieds&id=8 I originaly was looking at a turbo Z to use on the track and drive as a daily but i came accross this. With the info i got on engineering and transfering to Vic it would be better to get a well sorted N/A engine. I dont know much about N/A engines and the way they run at this level but im guessing it will be pig to drive around town? I currently own an Evo VII which is great to get in and drive around town and obviously does well at the track. Is there such a combo for a 240/260z?
  16. hmmm thats interesting cause this (the silver one with cage and fj20) was for sale about a year and a half ago for 14,500. Not sure what it sold for in the end but im guessing it would have been slightly less with a bit of bargining. 15k is my bottom line by the way. Will look at anything if i like the look of it.
  17. anyone else. I am looking at something more along these lines. Dug this up from some very old classified section on another forum. Would have been perfect.. http://members.optusnet.com.au/greenupr/gallery.html
  18. Hi all, Basically as stated. I would love a 240/260z 2 seater. Preferably with a turbo conversion but not necessary if running a tough N/A. Not in any rush cause im still in the process of selling my current car. Willing to spend 15k+ depending on condition, engine etc... Or we could work something out if your keen on an Mitsubishi Evo VII with 200kw at the wheels Willing to travell interstate for the right car. Cheers Chris
