NZeder Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 I see that car salesman has another car on ebay that is....well not as he states. First listed as a 260z which it clearly is not. Then calls it a rare 280z lol just look how many 280z were sold in the US not a rare car at all. Why must he bend the truth so much? Quote

Well by Australian / NZ standards the 280z is a rare car. Why must he bend the truth so much? Well he is a car dealer.... Quote
Quandary Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 How did you work that one out First glance the carbs sit oddly further from the head than usual. I thought it was an L28 with another manifold. Quote

BenZed Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 Engines are actually R31 spec, but plenty of good parts on these, including the 5-stud hubs and strong rear-end Quote
MaygZ Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 I'm no expert, but I suspect this is a 2+2. Looks pretty clean tho. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Datsun-260z-1975-Ferrari-Red-Stunning-Condition-/170505442065?cmd=ViewItem&pt=AU_Cars&hash=item27b2ea9311 Quote

chris240 Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 for those of us that live under rocks....what is/was a Scarab ? I presume it came with some sort of L series 6...was it like Nissans Zeds equivalent to an A9X Quote
MaygZ Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 SCARAB were like HSV (AUS) or Tickford (AUS) or Rolf (GER) or AMG (GER) or Perana (SA) (lets see if anyone remembers them?) or what Lotus(UK) used to be. SCARAB were a US car manufacturer that made some rediculous looking carsin the 30's and some great racecars in the 60's. They then started taking a standard car and turned it into a fire breathing monster. In this case it was an S30 with a thumping big Chev V8 in them, alomng with several other engineering and cosmetic upgrades. Not many were made. Originals are worth a small fortune, I think there are less than 20 still around, but there are several copies about. Quote
Scoota G Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Ok it's still a datsun. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/datsun-120y-ca18det-1200-turbo-/270598128903?cmd=ViewItem&pt=AU_Cars&hash=item3f00e7c507 Quote
