Hey all, I've been a Victorian for the last 9 months down the peninsula. It's too damn cold and why does it rain in winter? lol When I made the move I chose to drive the cheap daily and thought I'd fly back up and drive the zed down. It's taken me alittle longer to save up some funds than I thought but now I think I can do something, unfortunately zeds outta rego and I see myself being a permanent southener for atleast alil while longer so I'd like to get it transported down here Can anyone recommend someone and give me estimates? or is anyone headed down this way and have spare room for one more zed? haha cheers

Hi all, a bit's changed since I've last posted but i'll keep it short and sweet, I'm living down in Tootgarook, the roads and.. "views" are brilliant down here Apart from zeds my other Japanese car money pit is in Mira's. I bought my first one for a few hundred off ebay a bit over 2 years ago,lil 850cc 3cyl carby pocket rocket. Apart from it not having any brakes on it's maiden journey home it's been pretty awesome/reliable. I started playing around with it doing all the random things I would never let myself do to the 240. here it is in it's filthy glory coming up to the stupid ebay purchase part.. again So the other day when my girlfriend wasn't looking i accidentally bought another mira for a few hundred.. only this time with the smaller 660cc *turbo* motor with all the goodies, only downside is it's not registered, the gearbox is f'd and it's in Heidelberg. Unfortunately I haven't got anything to bring it down with (ie truck/trailer) and I don't have any family or mates down here I can ask for favours. Would anyone be kind enough to bring it down (on the off chance they're headed down this way)I'll cover any costs and a carton of your choice! or could you recommend any businesses that would do the heidelberg-tootgarook trip? My z31 caught fire april fools day a few years back lol. leaky injectors if i could get my hands on a 2 or another 4 seater i'd throw a l28 in it. much more reliable and non flamable..

could i buy the springs? I'm in vic till tuesday and don't have room in the z for the other stuff, would love the bonnet tho lol

they are either on par or slightly more then factory, not sure i didn't rebuild the bottom end/put it back together and nope i'm just on holidays down here for awhile, i should have gone alil later or got more time off so i could have been here for the nats Tamworth this morning cows near dubbo shame it's all rainy or i'd take a pick of something in canberra too So far zed hasn't missed a beat, the oil leak looks to have stopped (maybe heat+expanding sealed it up?) there is a bit of coolant from the head-block tho..

head studs+a skim would be ideal and is the plan in about 2000km's when i'm in victoria but with the block being all nice and refreshed i kind of want to do the same with the head

it was all torqued down this afternoon but the bolts are the originals and I couldn't get any new ones from anywhere up here (even nissan) so they weren't over done and have done thanks lurch ^^

Hey all, Just had the bottom end of the z rebuilt. i had 3 blown piston rings and compression as low as 75psi on cyl 4.. -new slightly larger pistons+over bore+bearings+timing chain+guide+gaskets+water pump later and i thought i was set, i had neither the time nor money to do any head work at the time. I'm setting off tomorrow from brisbane and have aloud myself 4 days to get to melbourne, Only problem is between the head+block it's leaking the tiniest amount of oil on the drivers side. I'm Looking for a new head I can mate to my block (prefferably something in good+fixed order) the studs that hold the head/block together or somewhere I can get my head slightly ported+new valves+mated so it won't leak Does anyone have any recommendations on where I should take the zed while i'm down south? Cheers

Depending on how bad my l24 is the car gods may have thrown me a fern. Mechanics that buy alot of batteries off work are oddly quiet next week and for pistons+rings+bearings+timing chain+guide+gaskets+clutch+master cyl+all labour I'd be looking at around 2k and done before next friday! Fingers crossed it all pans out

Good afternoon all, I'm looking at driving down to victoria starting from the 23rd of feb.. (a week and a half) I've booked hotel room and planned the whole holiday around having the zed. The other day it started running really rough, just on 5 cyls. It's down at the mech's and I just got the call that cyl 4 is less then 80psi where the rest are on 130-150 I might just be looking at rings/bearings but it might not end there. I'm looking at getting the l24 rebuilt but was planning on doing it at a later date. Has anyone got a spare L series I could buy outright or even rent for awhile? I'm up in brisbane and would be looking at it getting freighted here or picking it up. I need it by early next week to have any chance of fitting it in. Cheers

I've found some places that are sub $140 a night, tossing up between having a apartment Mount Waverley for 10 days down with a garage or staying high up in a nice looking hotel ~Rydges Hotel Bell City I'll definitely pencil in The Great Ocean Road, Apart from a music festival friday and possibly spending some time with a lady friend on the weekend my days are looking pretty quiet so I'll hit it up during the week. I'll be around Melbourne till the 7th/8th, When's the meet up at Bright? I'm planning on going inland on the way and coastal on the way back, Will definitely hit up the snowy mt highway Mount Macedon/Trentham sounds like a plan aswell May knock back a few beers, 3 days into the trip I'll be on my opens so 2 beers in the first hour and 1 beer every after sounds the go haha
