HomeBuiltByJeff Posted May 25, 2018 Author Posted May 25, 2018 It took a lot longer than I had hoped, but I finally get the body work finished and get into painting some high fill. lightmaster240z and RAP260 2 Quote
Enzo Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 Well done Jeff. Looking forward to seeing some colour on the car. Sounds like you should stop cooking for Mrs Jeff. Lol. Hope she recovers quickly so you can get back to the shed. Keep up the good work. Regards David. HomeBuiltByJeff 1 Quote
JDM-TOY Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 Hey Jeff great work mate, love watching the videos. Just wish the panel beaters will hurry up on my car lol. How did you find the primer spray gun? HomeBuiltByJeff 1 Quote
HomeBuiltByJeff Posted May 26, 2018 Author Posted May 26, 2018 The primer gun was great, you can see all the parts of the gun are nice and precise, compared to the copy ones I have used for years. You can see it is much better quality. As for how it works, to be honest, it worked great, but you don't really need anything fancy for primer. The real test will be the other gun they gave me for the colour and clear. That is where the gun is much more important. JDM-TOY 1 Quote

They have had some of the videos I made for them on their site for almost 12 months now, but I didn't know that they were specifically linking my regular videos as well, so that is cool. The guys at Supercheap have really been awesome helping me out, as keeping up the pace of these videos is difficult to do. They will be playing a promo for my channel in all of the stores any day now as well. Andrew_L26 and RAP260 2 Quote

Administrators gav240z Posted July 8, 2018 Administrators Posted July 8, 2018 Jeff I know you're talking about engine balancing at 13mins mark, but honestly if you're going to try do that I'd recommend these courses here. https://www.hpacademy.com/ I've gone through the first series (Engine Building Fundamentals) and bought the second (Practical Engine Building) - still have to watch it, but super super helpful... And I see they have a cam dialing in video now woo! https://www.hpacademy.com/courses/how-to-degree-a-cam/ RAP260 1 Quote

And I see they have a cam dialing in video now woo! https://www.hpacademy.com/courses/how-to-degree-a-cam/ That looks good, but I had my intense, hands on, engine building academy a couple of weeks ago in the US building my 911 engine. You would be hard pressed to find a better mentor in the world than Neil Harvey at Performance Developments. He spent 10+ years in Formula 1, with his engines winning 2 world championships, then working for ANDIAL (Porsche racing in the US), and TRD. I balanced my 911 pistons, so I have a bit of an idea of what to do. RAP260 and gav240z 2 Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted July 9, 2018 Administrators Posted July 9, 2018 No wuckers, the balancing I've seen involved having the pistons, conrods, wrist pins all apart and measuring each item individually that's all. I saw you had kept your piston's and rods connected, hence why I wasn't so sure. But if you've been instructed otherwise by an expert then that trump my opinion of such things! It's probably less of an issue in a street motor than track engine too! Quote
