  1. I'm after some door rubbers as well. Justin
  2. Hi Geoffdy, Good to see another one getting into the zeds just a shame it's a 240 not a 260 lol, just kidding I love the 240's it's just that I ended up with 260's. And yes pic's of the car for sure Justin
  3. Lol hi Richard, And the answer is yes it does, my 260 has A/C and I use it a fair bit and not only when it's hot it's good for clearing the screen it's the other way around I don't have the heater hooked up in that one because the rocker cover is pretty close to the outlet so I need to find some nice hoses with a sharp 90deg bend lol. I know it certainly would be handy but just wondering if it's worth the hassle in doing as is a fair bit of stuffing around by the look of it. Justin
  4. Thanks Phil
  5. Quick question as I'm not near my car does anyone know if a 260z 75 model has the vacuum or non-vacuum controls?
  6. Thanks guys for your replies and I do agree, I have it in the orange car but not in the light blue one and it's certainly nicer to drive the one with it on the hot days. Groundhog I do have one that's on another engine I have which I would use but very good point I hadn't really thought about it until you mentioned that lol.
  7. Hi guys, Just after some thoughts on whether or not to put A/C into a 260Z which didn't come out with it? I can get most of the parts pretty cheap that's all. Justin
  8. I have one of the Harada manifolds that I will be fitting to one of our cars with a set of 45 Dellorto's. The manifold by the look of it is very well made, linkages could be better I feel but hopefully they will do the job. I'm also thinking about getting one of the Mangoletsi manifolds for another car, no real reason but they too look pretty good from the pictures and the linkages might be better, anyone have any thoughts? I have attached a couple of pictures of the Mangoletsi manifold.
  9. Hey guys it's on Carsales so you can see the pictures there
  10. They would be pretty rare now I'd be thinking.
  11. From a 68 Cedric?
  12. Hi Gordo, I have in the past used some alloy flat bar to scrap the burr to remove the build up. I also found that spraying a light oil like WD40 or similar on the burr and where your porting does help a lot even though it's a bit messy. Justin
  13. Hi Blue Z, Thanks for that I'll check that one out too, that's the first one with the switch, not the proportional valve isn't it? And there just o-rings in there no cups? Justin
  14. Hi guys, I'm having an issue with the fluid transferring to the opposite reservoir (front to back) in the master cylinder. I thought, ok it's passing within the master cylinder so I have installed a new 15/16" master cylinder thinking this will fix the issue........ nope From the master cylinder the lines go to the pressure differential switch then to the proportional valve which it as you know backs off the rear brake pressure as more pressure is applied to prevent the rear from locking up during the weight transfer of the vehicle. My question is if the proportional valve is leaking internally could this be the cause of the my problem, though I guess it could also be in the differential pressure switch. Has anyone had any issues with these? Parts are hard to find but looking around a proportional valve from a 95 Mazda Miata physically looks the same though I'm sure the spring rate etc would be different but with testing and changing springs it might work, any thoughts? (See picture of Mazda unit) Justin.
  15. I'll try and get back on to the 240 column, just have been quite busy with other things. Justin
  16. Hi guys, I haven't done anymore on the 240 columns as yet, they are quite different to the 260 ones and to get any length on the bottom section that will collapse is proving to be very difficult. It would have to be done on the steering shaft that's in the engine bay going to the rack. I will have to make some enquiries to see if this will be acceptable and be able to be made road legal. Obviously if it's for a pure track car you would do what you need to do to get it to work. The video below shows the difference it makes in my car though always hard to see from a video. 17. Merry Christmas everyone and stay safe. Justin
  18. Hello, Welcome to the forum and glad to see another Zed that's going to be looked after and enjoyed there a great car though I don't have a 240 but I do like them. Dash doctors do a fantastic job Justin
  19. Hey great work, have to be happy with that.

    Compression Ratio

Lol yes your right Locky I should have I know. Thanks for that, I didn't think I'd be able to go that high but fuels are better I guess these days. The distributor I have built and it this stage only by measurement has now 11deg of advance so as you know 22 on the crank. My thoughts are to start at 10 and go to 32 but I can play with that once done. But that's good I won't have to take too much out of the chambers at all, just unshroud the valves and a polish and keep them small. Thanks again for that.

    Compression Ratio

Lol yes Locky I know but just trying to get a bit of an idea of what static compression to run, probably stick to 10:1 but just getting an idea what people are getting away with. The engine is just a street engine for my wife's car and I'm looking at the following specs, though in time I'll probably do the similar to our other 260 as I have another one of the heads and set of 45 dellorto's. F54 block 87mm bore E88 EFI with port and chamber work but not over the top 72 - 74 deg cam 280zx electronic distributor re curved and no vacuum advance Triple 45 dellorto's with 34mm Venturi's Extractors 3/2/1 with 1 5/8" primaries 2 1/4" exhaust. Lighter flywheel but not too light. Justin

    Compression Ratio

Hi guys, Just a quick one with a closed chamber head E88 EFI head what sort of compression ratio would I get away with before running into detonation issues? I know there are many other factors involved with the tuning etc. Years ago I ran 10:1 with an opened up chamber head and that was fine but I'm reading there are some who go higher.
  23. There a great car the 180b SSS, I had one for quite a few years, I ended up running a 219 head, twin 48 dellortos, forged VW Pistons etc. Went very well with close on 200hp back then though they are a fairly heavy car.
  24. Can anyone verify that the 79-81 280zx booster will bolt into a 260z without drilling new holes?
  25. Bugger have to be quick lol. Nice pick up wildy55.
