  1. If there was a front bumper to complement the rear I think I would jump...
  2. I'm keen on the 260z throttle linkage $20
  3. I've gone to rare spares and had them plastic mold a 90 degree corner into the door seals at a measured interval that should have the ends meet at the middle of the door pillar. I've not yet had a chance to fit them to confirm. The coup seals does not traverse around the side windows so corners are not needed but on the 2+2 you will. If you go the Clark rubber option and don't have the pre-foremd 90 deg at the rear of the door / quarter window I think you'll have the seal continue to deviate from the curve despite the adhesion attempts. The doors also need to be slammed to shut. I've all but given up on the sportage option, just didn't find it by the meter and the kit was more $ / risk than going full custom. Rare spares in Adelaide should still have the measurements I gave them for my 2+ but remember I've not tested mine yet. The lads at rare spares went over and beyond with this task I have had some dealings with other interstate stores that were a little average but these guys really cared.
  4. I would call that much more than crazy. I just don't see it.
  5. Understood . Thanks for the reply
  6. Hi Lurch, Have a manifold set aside and about to go 3 new Weber's once I get a price estimate though the mechanics trade account. Don't want to wast your time but if were talking similar money as is 25% more pm me the ballpark figure. Some source appear to be indicating 2.5 - 3k but are smaller. If it's far more happy to proceed with the weber option.
  7. Thought you may have already done the figures as you brought them with the intention to rebuild. Did a quick search and found a few rebuild kits but found none locally or any that gave me confidence it was a complete kit. (always had exclusions or a link to additional parts kit) Either way you have not provided any figures I've kinda given up finding a good second hand buy and secured a triple manifold yesterday. Probably going with 3 new webbers.
  8. Whats the estimate to get these rebuilt? About to drop my Su's and manifolds off to be matched to the head work that's in the process of being completed now, so almost at the point of no return on carb choice (first attempt anyhow).
  9. I have a combination from Z factory and placed an order with rare spares for some of the others. Z factory; rear tail lights, fwd mid upper door cavity to body rear hatch Radiator strip Rear bonnet strip Fuel flap Carby boot Rare spares L ad R door seals Upper door / roof seal Door window felt Still looking for; Indicators nosecone B pillar (however mine look ok) Probably some more Already close to the $500 mark Found the B pillar but not local and lookiing at $100+ http://jdm-car-parts.com/products/quarter-glass-to-pillar-joint-seal-set-for-datsun-260z-280z-2-2
  10. O-rings in the aviation industry used for fuel are Buna-N. The term impervious is used to describe it's ability to operate in fuel applications. Nitrile might be an easier term at local retailers to source. We also use the old fashioned cork with a liquid "red" buna-n to seal both ends in these applications. Permatex have a good gasket sealer that's rated for fuel. Cork might be an easier alternative as it's a low pressure application and possibly readily available in sheet form to aid in easy manufacture. Not used this brand but looks to be what your after http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/Product/Platinum-Rubberised-Cork-Gasket-Sheet-3-2-x-375-x-400mm/8516 Edit; sorry didn't notice you were in south mexico? Not sure if it's accurate location but super cheaps not down that way.
  11. When I click on a few links at Scott's in the past it link's to Rare spares for a description. Some (very few) parts are a couple of dollars cheaper but most the exact same price. So I figure I'm no worse off than walking into rare spares. At least I can see the quality before and have an option to return if it's not right. I'm just going to have to mix and match. No idea why the 2+ door seals such an issue.
  12. I'm disappointed by all the 2+2 bashing. We all know when you need to haul a threesome you need a 2+ Truth is I couldn't afford a coup 10 years ago, certainly cant' now .
  13. Awaiting the Z factory to get back to me with a list but appears the 2+2 door seals are a thing of the past. I've searched a few times hoping to stumble across the place that has a kit that's 100% complete. Gone though many threads linking stores that are no longer here. Rare spares want $600+ even with both rear and front hatch glass not selected and missing many required rubbers, rear tail lights ect. http://www.vintagerubber.com/260z.aspx- out of stock of 2+2 door seals. I can keep listing the same issue with every singe retailer I have found so far. Complete kit for the coupe but no love for the 2+ Is the 2+2 some bastard no one thinks ever existed? Am I cursed to purchase individual parts and look for a kia Sportarge sample to get a close match at Clark rubber? Where do we go in 2017 for some rubber?
  14. Appears to be the case. I guess after 9 years you forget what the car used to look like. I wish I lived in Japan or the U/S - the parts for these are readily available and fairly affordable.
  15. Hi Gong, I did read that thread on my search but it only had the front brackets. Have gone though and had another look at my parts and found the original rear brackets. I found a link that had adjustable versions but can't seem to find them now. As my z is the early 260z it's not a mod from the large 280z style. Just wanted to get the OEM gap between body and bumper smaller. To be honest now that I found the original brackets it's not nearly as far away form the body as I had remembered. Now I've looked at the condition of my originals I am considering if I look a some of the carbon options...
