600Z

Hi guys while Toby is on the subject of brake boosters and I know this has no doubt be covered many times but also gets quite confusing but does anyone know where you can get a 260 2+2 booster as they are larger then the 260's or what is a good option of a retro fit larger booster with a 15/16" master cylinder? I know people say 280ZX is a good option but I read where some fit some don't etc..... so I don't want to waste money on something that won't fit. I'd rather not re-drill the holes in the firewall. Thanks Chris, I suppose I could also open the booster up and change the mounting studs to suit as well though a bit more stuffing around.

Hi guys, I take it the R33 brake booster will has the same stud spacing as the original 260z ones and will bolt straight in place? Or is there other better ones to fit? I'm looking at doing the 4 piston hilux front and r31 rear to two of our zeds at the same time and will also upgrade to the 15/16" master cylinders at the same time. Justin

Very true guys, pretty much what I was thinking as well. Just seams a little strange still as there can't be that many 260's left either you would tend to think. I think also guys who have the 240's are not selling them either, I know of a guy about ten minutes from me who has three 240's and I use to see another one from time to time that I guess you would class as a survivor car that he as owned since new and was or still is his daily. Gilltech, I think your right I read somewhere that the very early 260's were actually more like a 240 as they used a lot of left over parts but who knows it's all pretty hard to find out.

Hi Guys, Just doing some digging on numbers of cars that came to Australia and have found the following. 240Z's : 2358 260Z's : 1123 These are 2 seater versions of the 260Z's. Quick question out of curiosity can anyone tell me why it seams that the 240's bring a higher price even though there looks to have been over twice as many brought into Australia.

Hi Gav, ok...... maybe not too sorry. When I saw the car a couple of years ago I thought now this is a very nice clean Zed so when I saw it come up for sale I thought I had better jump on it as they very seldom come up in this condition. Not that I really wanted to part with the money, we never do like too. 74zzz to be honest I didn't ask about the full resto question as he went through its history from new and he was the third owner of the car, his son was the second one and they have had it for 25 years, no mention of a full resto just keeping it tidy and upgrading over the years. It was a couple of years since I had seen the car but straight as a die and not one bit of rust to been seen or where there ever had been so even if it has had a resto it was a long time ago and very well done. Thanks knight240z, I'm happy though would have rather it to have been a 240 but I do like the 260's and from what I understand there were less brought into Australia. Not too many 240z's come up.

Thanks guys for your replies, I actually have a few diffs at the moment so just trying to work out what way to go in the cars. I have a 3.7 lsd and 3.9 lsd. The 3.7 is in my car at the moment but the 3.9 will be going in once I sort out my Z31 axles and take out the wolf creek ones. I also have a 3.9 and 4.11 open diffs which probably the 4.11 will end up in my wife's 260 2+2 but not sure. Just that I don't really know what there worth or how hard they are to come by. Justin

Thanks Andy I'll have areas of them, I'd say the $600 that they quoted would also be US dollars so even more expensive. Gav I have spoken to a couple here in Tassie but a couple I felt like saying I already have the car I just want the seats etc done lol, but I'll keep trying and see what I can come up with. Surely someone has to be down to earth with their prices, one was 8k lol From what I have read the pre-made covers fit and look good so I'll most likely go down that path once I have worked out the foam issue. Hello I'm wondering if anyone can give me a bit of an idea where to get some new seat foam for a 260Z as the ones from the z store in the states want $600 for shipping 2 sets along with a set of Ross Pistons. Justin

Ah ok no worries. I must admit I have never seen a set like those before, I know the ones your after so I'll keep an eye out for you Doug. There are a few sets on eBay overseas but bloody hell not cheap lol Justin

They would obviously need a overhaul and the correct manifold but if anyone is interested there on gumtree. Justin.

Z Store if they ever reply to your emails as they haven't with me as yet as I'm after some seat foams and Ross Pistons from them. Justin
