Inspired me to look at what I actually have in my car. 80's vintage.

Hey PB, That's actually a brilliant idea. Something I never considered. I've decided to remove the stereo from my car. As I simply enjoy the sound of the car on my daily drives, plus the current install is ugly. But for long distances this would be great. All you would need to do is wire in a USB adapter, running off the 12v system. Nothing too challenging. I have a JBL Bluetooth unit. Going to start thinking about the best way to achieve this. Ironically, if you have two JBL units, they can be setup for stereo playback.. Mmmmmm Cheers, Rob

  7. Attached my throttle cable directly to the pedal mechanism. Wow.. Its actually too smooth and light. Going to take some getting used to. Just no pleasing some people I suppose.. Lol.
  8. FWIW, I asked the chap who posted the video about the situation. And he offered a generous response. I must say, I personally would find racing in such an environment, very daunting.
  9. Yea, had a good chuckle at Zohanmobile.
  10. Is it just me, or was that a stupidly dangerous thing to do?
  11. Getting very close now. No flares, right colour on paint and wheels. Still has the rear bumper, and I can picture it with a chrome front bumper. Better get saving my pennies
  12. Ok, I just noticed that. Everything is blacked out. Mmmmm. It's the colour of that car that's always appealed to me. Have this thing for dark greys.
  13. I can't speak for Midels rebuild service. But regarding anyone looking to rebuild / replace their su carbs.... After weighing up the cost of rebuilding ( via Z therapy) I decided to buy the HS6 conversion that Midel sell. Best decision I've ever made. Just my 2c Cheers, Rob
  14. While I'm waking the dead... Lol I'm 100% sure this has already been posted ( haven't looked ). But if this doesn't inspire 2+2 owners, nothing does. Even if it's not your style... It's beautiful.
  15. Wheels with white writing are not normally my cup of tea...or fender mirrors.. But I find this a sexy 2+2 Oops... Looks like I resurrected a long dead thread
  16. Hey folks, This is just for my information. Regarding the locking hardware on the doors. What year did the door latches move from being externally mounted, to being built into the doors ? All 240z, and early 260z models??? Or is it just a 2+2 thing ? Cheers, Rob
  17. Finally got my choke working again... Yea. The bracket setup works a treat. Because I'm running HS6's, I took a different approach. Used braided line, instead of solid core, as the HS6's have a return spring. Plus I only need one line, as I have fitted a linkage between the two carbs. Having the choke not hold its position isn't an issue, as I never drive my car on choke.
  18. Thanks for your reply Mike, much appreciated. Your car looks awesome. Really starting to fall for the colour. Mine was originally that colour, but was resprayed to the blue you see in the attached picture. Clearly a blue with more silver. I'm hunting down as many pictures of the original code, before I commit to a respray. Cheers, Rob
  19. Firstly, nice shed Secondly, is your car painted the original 305 light blue? Cheers, Rob
  20. Replaced my awful, noisey, pulsating Facet fuel pump, for a beautiful smooth sounding.. Well.. Facet fuel pump.. Lol. The new pump is a 2 to 3 psi model, designed for my new HS6's ( which doesn't pulsate). This way I can ditch the fuel pressure regulator ( because the other pump was running around 6 psi). Even cleaner engine bay coming up
  21. Oooohhhh, how I so want to reply to this..lol. I'm just going to wish you all a great get together, and wish I could be there Cheers, Rob Ps. It NEVER rains in Toowoomba, Except...
  22. Well, someone I know, very generously supplied me with this ingenious solution. I haven't had a chance to thank him in person yet, so I'm not sure of its origins. This uses 4 existing pickup points under the console. Fits beautifully. Will post pictures of it mounted if anyone is interested. Looking forward to having a functional choke
  23. Lol. Sorry, this is completely off topic. But that reminded me of something the misses said to me yesterday. Apparently I remind her of this.. I'm sure a few of us have partners that can relate to this https://youtu.be/8OGx2fqAWoE
  24. No. But will be adding it to my subscribed videos. Cheers Damn, that Miura is beautiful. And.. OMFG, the sound of that thing.. Damn being poor. Lol.
  25. Yea, I suspect most of us would fall into that category Jeff. It just seems to work best in simulators. On a separate note, regarding the times we are achieving.... I've been racing simulations for over thirty years. And I know that the times we can achieve are ridiculous and unrealistic. If you look at the video I posted, at 1.27. That makes for a fun drive . Seriously, I could do that all day and love it. But the 1.24 I'm currently doing ..... That's stupid. I don't personally find it fun to drive that quickly. I feel I'm not driving a car at those speeds, but simply "playing the game", if that makes sense. And that's why most of us old farts get dusted by kids... Lol. Cheers, Rob
