    Cheers folks. I'll give some WD40 a go. But as you can see from the attached photo, they've used some sort of adhesive. That stuff is tough. That's left after a thorough wire brush cleaning! May have to visit a local mechanic, as I don't have a rattle gun. PB blaster looks interesting though, lots of other future uses for something like that.

    Howdy all, Just in the process of removing the old water pipe that runs between the intake manifolds. Just need to confirm that the nuts, on the internal metal pipe, use the normal thread handing? . Struggling to get them off, just making sure I'm not trying to tighten them.. Lol Cheers, Rob

    Hi all, This is just a fishing trip, before I send my carbs off to Pro-Carb Tasmania Looking for a set of recently rebuilt / restored SU carbs. Ztherapy / Pro-carb level rebuild preferred, as in polished finish. Must be in perfect working order. Open to offers / suggestions. Cheers, Rob

    That's a shame. I've never seen this car around before. Didn't catch the number plate as it went past , but she looked really similar to yours. Sounded really nice. I'm just about to get my exhaust system replaced , so I was hoping it was yours , that way I was just going to copy you're setup. Lol Cheers, Rob

    Unfortunately I can't provide any accurate measurements. This is the best I could do. I get about 10mm OD.

    Hi Tim , Sorry, my statement was about as clear as mud I should have said.... For the same cost ( if not less ) you may be able to find someone locally ( Australia at least ) who could service your SU's. But, with that said, I personally love exploring different ideas. You never know where you'll end up. And as you said, it's something to add to the Zed knowledge bank

    Hey Oldmates260z , Your SU's sound like my old units ( currently sitting in the shed ). I got better milage from the triples. In hindsight, if I'd known what the total cost of a 4 barrel setup was going to be, I'd have gotten Z Therapy to do my carbs. You live, you learn I've started a topic looking for someone who has used an Australian company to refurbish their carbs. I would be over the moon if there was someone in Brisbane.     Hi all , A question posted by Oldmates260 has prompted me to enquire about available SU rebuilding services in Australia. I'm looking for info from anyone who has used an Australian company to rebuild/restore their SU's. While Z Therapy is very appealing , the Australian dollar makes it a very expensive exercise. Midel Pty appear in searches , but has anyone used them for their zed ? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Cheers , Robert

    Unfortunately I can't offer any feedback , as I haven't used these , but I would say give it a go The purists will be shaking their heads , but it's your car not theirs. And many people seem to be happy with the change. I've had Su's and Triples and both had their advantages and disadvantages. Just in the process of installing a Clifford manifold and Edelbrock 4bl ( just for something different ) , but shhhhh don't tell anyone. Lol I'm sure you have checked other forums, mixed opinions. Would love to hear you're feedback if you do.

    I asked him about the motor at the time , and I was given the impression that it was the original stock motor ( excluding the triples, obviously ).

    Yep , would have to agree. Bought some guages from Chris. Nice young fella. Was nearly finished when I saw it. Complete ground up rebuild , which had taken him five years (so I was told). He works for a panel beater , so no excuses for the body work to not be 100%

    Absolutely Going to be buying a new intake manifold , so I also need to source the best way to ensure the intake and exhaust flanges are the same thickness. Was thinking an exhaust fitter may be able to help me ? , or maybe an engineering business ? The last two I've had appear to have been done with an angle grinder :-\

    Ok....I've just been out and had a good look at the gasket and around the exhaust ports. Your spot on , even though they ( the workshop ) only fitted it twelve months ago, it is showing signs of leakage. Which I hadn't noticed before. Thank you very much for your feedback.     Two names pop up on other sites , as preferred gaskets. Fel-pro ?? ( which I believe are single layer paper? based ? ) Victor Reinz ?? I've had bad experiences with rubbish gaskets in the past , and I'm not interested in wasting my money on rubbish. Of course I am also aware that most gaskets are only as good as the person fitting them Looking for feedback from those who have experience.
