    Never a truer word spoken. Like many I started out borrowing tools from Dad, not sure they all got returned and today I have most of the tools I need. But still no hoist - don't have the roof clearence

    Hi You don't miss much The rims are Simmons V4 15X8 at 0 offset and fitted with 225/50/15 tyres The fit is pretty good but not perfect : At the front there was a tiny bit of scrubbing on the lower valance, but easily sorted - Trim the valance or change to 205/50/15 tyres At the rear -6 offset would fill the guards a little better. Another thing to consider is the availability of 225/50/15 tyres is not the best. I am learning this as the tyres currently on the rims need replacing. Cheers PB

    Re the Radio, I have vague memory that the later 2+2's got the AM/FM while the 2 seaters continued to get the AM only radio. I could very well be wrong, after all I am drawing on a memory for 30+ years ago.

    Hi, Have put about 2,000kms on the bus since getting her registered and the odo has just clocked over X35,000ks so decided it was time for oil and coolant change. Interestingly the diff oil was like new but the gearbox oil was very dirty and the plug had a fair amount of metallic grud on it. Hopefully this is just crap from the engine box sitting idle for 10+ years. Have also decided to get the radiator completely overhauled while I am at. (edit: Going to try a ebay radiator, HEAPS cheaper than overhauling the original) Cheers PB

    Hi The voltage regulator does exactly what the name suggests, it regulates the voltage in the car. It monitors the voltge in the battery and tells the alternator how much power to generate to keep not only the car and accessories running but also recharge the battery. If you have a suspect looking connection on the reg and the alternator is not charging you could be onto the root cause of of your problems. Cheers PB

    Hi Andrew They run on 12V. Just watch out with the tacho, the trigger is less - around 9volts. Cheers PB

    Agree with Gav - Getting used to driving a LHD car is not all that hard, especially in LHD country. They present a few extra challenges on a RHD road network. Most don't matter for a weekend cruiser but getting enough visibility when overtaking or pulling out from kerbside parking can be interesting to say the least. Cheers PB
