  1. Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has a set of flares sitting around I could borrow just to see if they'll line up (the smaller ones). I'll more than likely be at the annual BBQ and jap car show, so i could borrow them and hand them back within a week! It's just for a little side project I have atm (well it's not such a little car...)
  2. Huh, i just realised i haven't replied to this, I'm more than likely to be there!
  3. Shame it's not in the holidays, I was actually considering a Tassie roadtrip myself!
  4. I have no doubt that a 240 or 260 would be the same though...
  5. In my 260z, fiberglass is about 50 different rust patches, often backed by cardboard. :/ In my MR2, a fully hektic subwoofer in the boot. (Doesn't sound too bad until you realise that it is a mid engine car and there is a whole freakn engine between you and the speaker!)
  6. If you want to do it 100% properly and have it not rust for the next 40 years, media blast. It reveals ALL. Yes it's expensive, but when you realise actually how long it's going to take you to strip the car in reality it would calculate the cost of your time to something like $20 an hour. So for most people it's a no brainer. Unless it's the original paint on the car and it's really obvious where all the rust is, just go for the media blast. It's amazing the damage dodgy repairs can hide.
  7. As the title says guys. I have decided that having a Z and a MR2 may be a little greedy... I have absolutely enjoyed every single moment of owning my amazing MR2, and I thought that you guys would be a good target audience because I already know you appreciate nice cars . Model: MR2 Required Location: Melbourne Required Price and Payment Conditions: Price $7000 ono W/o roadworthy or $7500 with Item Condition: Mechanically great, clearcoat dodgy Registration: Yes Contact Details: PM This car is pretty much all stock from the Bathurst trim. The first owner optioned in ABS and airconditioning in, but not the airbag and powersteering, which IMO is the option combination (no powersteering is amazing, don't let anyone tell you otherwise). The other parts on the car is; Celica steering wheel (looks stock) TRD gear knob GT rear pod glove box central locking kit (from dealer, the clicker is broken but all the hardware works) Pioneer head unit and speakers Replaced drivers side seat belt (needed for the roadworthy when i bought the car, was stupidly expensive!) Clear aftermarket indicators (but have the old orange ones still) The car has 176,xxxk's on the clock and has never missed a beat. I change the oil with top quality stuff every 5,000k's and the filter every 10. I have ONLY ever run 98 through it so everything will be in super top order. I just changed the oil with Penrite 10-40 and gapped the sparkplugs and re oiled the K&N filter, got the front pads replaced and disks machined 1,000's ago. From the last owner the clutch was replaced with a (i believe) exedy unit, which is slightly firmer than stock and feels absolutely perfect for the amount of power the car puts out. The paintwork isn't perfect, but everything mechanically is tight and is absolutely a bundle of laughs to drive. The rims that are currently on the car are not included in the sale as they owe me a fair amount and I only bought them and completely refurbished them 3 months ago, but they will be sold separately and will be offered first cheaper to the buyer of the car. The car will come with the rims pictured which I drove around on for at least a year before swapping them. All the tyres will pass roadworthy but a mechanic mentioned that one of the tyres may have a bit of a bulge in it causing a wobble, but I'm not entirely sure. The rims are all straight and only have minor scuffing. The plates are also not for sale with the vehicle but I will supply new ones if you would like to purchase the car with the rego until August. Located in Victoria in the north east suburbs Send me a PM and we can arrange a time Price $7000 ono W/o roadworthy or $7500 with
  8. Not the best photoshop job, but I like the idea and general shape of it!
  9. ZOMGD are these just worth less in QLD?
  10. Interest notification for doors. What are their condition?
  11. To give more storage room LOL! Image how much stuff you could fit in the front with no motor there!
  12. Please confirm this someone! This would make all 240z's and now starting on 260z's not require an engineers cert!!! (love having a 74 260 ) Does this count for any modification done to the car? Somehow I doubt it, but would be bloody amazing if true!
  13. If by sluggish you mean more power, then yes. As far as I understand, the only reason you'd go for the smaller L blocks (besides originality) is to have (out of the box) a peakier engine. Going to an L28 is the cheapest cost for most value mod, dare I say it, over anything else on a Z.
  14. Pretty sure lurch is after that configuration of L28.
  15. Interest in bonnet and doors.
  16. Didn't some of the L28's come carb'd stock? My understanding was that the rules about using different to stock cabs was very vague...
  17. Sounds like you have an interesting life Sue! Z's and horses have one thing in common. They're bloody expensive and take all your time. Well done!
  18. I have heard these seats a tiny, so if you're a bigger bloke I'd probably think twice...
  19. Urgent quick sale price for a limited time. May have something else take its place... Urgency passed
  20. No you're not. You're spewing! I certainly would be
  21. Oooooooh should I buy this for the gf? ?
  22. Loved it last year! Hey what's the age cap on this show again? I saw someone displaying my model MR2 there last year... Would make parking easier
  23. Yeah I love the idea of these units (the ones mad specifically for the Z). It's uber handy to be able to adjust the assist rate, so if you're at the track or on a spirited drive... Hell even just on the freeway you can turn it off. As soon as you do city driving and especially parking, just crank it up!!!
