  1. Same boat I'm in nice to know a resonator isn't necessary. I want all the drama the exhaust already has, just not that sweet spot resonance.
  2. So keen!!! My first run with owning a running Z!!!
  3. Oh yeah right! I forgot about it reading strangely! I'll have to figure that out at some point too!
  4. I guess while this thread is here I might try to figure out which diff I've got installed... I have the early 240z box and when doing 110kph I'm doing off the top of my head 4,000rpm. A bit revvy for highway driving, but pretty nice and close for getting to that speed on a L24.
  5. Toyota MR2 2nd gen. I had one for a few years and it never skipped a beat. 4cyl meant it was Super efficient and only cost me 6k upfront.
  6. Yeah hopefully mine will be all ready with rego for the next one!
  7. Trying to choose between a nice ducktail or louvres and think that the less permanent option is easier for now. Anyone got some going?
  8. Hey Bruce, Slow reply sorry! Yeah I'd love some pics and contact details of the guy that did the job. You're in Vic right?
  9. Group buy to save on shipping?
  10. Hey guys, I'm interested in the Z getting Keyless entry and some form of electronic security. Just wondering what systems you'd suggest, and most importantly, who you'd trust to install the system (I'm sure it's not an easy job on these cars!)
  11. I'd like to upgrade to these please. I think 5 along the bonnet should do.
  12. Hey Gav, I'm after a couple of those parts too. I need the rear strut tower caps and dash mat, so if you find an online source for them let me know.
  13. Yeah, sounds like a plan if I was sure about which wheel I was going to use, but just in case I'll swap around I think a temporary measure might be best...
  14. Hey Z brains... just wondering if anyone else finds the 240 indicator lever location annoying??? I basically have to take my hand off the wheel to reach back to the indicator! I realise I could bend the stalk forward, but in an effort for authenticity, has anyone attached some sort of L bracket on the stalk to bring it parallel in closer to the steering wheel?
  15. Ah ok, thanks for that, will let Lurch know! Hahaha no nothing crazy like that. Something much more regular to find when you lift the hatch.
  16. Hahahha so you've been down to see the car already?
  17. Yeah Lurch suggested Moorabbin Auto as well, but it seems Ash doesn't want to take on any new memberships... Thanks Zedhead, I'll try them!
  18. Hey guys, with the immediacy of purchasing my 240 I am without a club for historic rego. Where is the easiest place to join up so I can get my rego done in the next couple of weeks?
  19. Lurch, just make sure you don't show Gav what's in the boot...
  20. Yes yes yes! So keen! Hopefully my car will be all transferred into my name by then.... but might have to miss the first one
  21. I like the idea of the installed blinds. Jeepers they look good Lurch, but bloody hell! They're nearly 2 grand!!!
  22. Hey people. Just planning for the long term storage of my car on a day to day basis and came across the idea of using a "temporary marquee" within the carport to prevent rain and dust from coming in sideways from the open carport sides. Obviously having access via the shorter ends is crucial so I want to know the product suits before I buy. Has anyone done something similar? any recommendations?
  23. What a way to start my journey with this beautiful car; a nearly 2,000k roadtrip from Brisbane back home to Melbourne! 10k in to the trip the car was down and out. Broken down on the side of the highway. I nearly cried. Luckily Lock put the call out on the forum and within 10 minutes Matty shot me a call and was out to help me within 40 minutes! 20 minutes after that the issue was diagnosed and fixed (rust clogged fuel filter), and I was back on the road again! The rest of the trip went by without issue, but was bloody scary at points where I was doing 110 it was pissing down rain, with the wind nearly blowing me into the next lane. Would drive 2,000k's in the car again? not any time soon, but with that sort of reliability, I am now very confident with it.
  24. I came to the very sad conclusion that I had to give up on my 260 full resto project, as full time work and a healthy social life was leaving me with little energy and time. This incredibly depressing scenario caused me to inspect the state of the Z market on Carsales and gumtree, and would you know it, within 2 minutes I spy an early number 240Z in the EXACT! colour I was looking for, advertised at a price I was willing to pay... Current Car info (to be updated)
  25. There are a few little sections that haven't been 100% immaculately done, but they all look manageable. The bits that have been done properly are bloody fantastic (like the engine bay!) I'll get some more pics up soon!
