  1. Not talking to you until i see pics!
  2. For caked on disk dust there is this cool product that I just bought that you spray on that has the consistency of gel and you leave it for a couple of mins, it then reacts with the disk dust and turns red. After this you can pressure hose or just wash it off. Seems to work fairly well. Would be better if it was used more than once a year . I'll get you the name of it tomorrow if youre interested.
  3. Interest officially retracted. damn! The first time I get to an item first and it's not for my car!!!
  4. Interest noted. Just gotta check these are the ones I'm after. Are these a standard weight or are there multiple varieties?
  5. Pm's sent.
  6. Hmmm I got mine for a bit over $600 if my memory serves me right... Have a bit more of a shop around and I'll see if i can find the name of the company i used.
  7. Lol, ok I see now. i just thought you were some new guy that wanted a Z for peanuts
  8. Oooooooohhhhhhh, or that makes more sense. With z's unless you are going for a brand spankn perfect car it's best to consider the total cost. Because more than often the work required on them will outstrip the initial cost. Especially in the lower price bracket.
  9. Don't mean to be negative... but for a Z, thats super low. If you already had all of the equipment to do EVERY step, then it might come together within a year for 5k. There are just so many things on a Z that need replacing (or really any car of this age, but especially Z's) I mean, have you thought about something as simple as weather seals? 90% of old ones are screwed, and a full replacement set is $700. Something very basic and often overlooked, but very crucial! and this train of thought will apply to more than half a dozen parts where it's borderline... I guess for that amount you're better off buying a near complete project or a project that isn't sought after (like an engine swap or a horrible colour) but you will be waiting around quite a while... I hope this helps more than it puts you off. My project started off at around 10k with a good estimation. Fiberglassed over rust blew that out to way over 20k and more than 3 years in the making and counting.
  10. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,13677.0.html This plus a rust bucket with all the parts would be the best way to go long term. I started with a car which I thought had no rust, now I'd be lucky to come in under 20k even with doing 10k's worth of rust repair myself!
  11. Isn't that what the metal made ones are for? Or are they to get the gf?
  12. Holy S, i saw LD28 crank for sale and then saw the figure $100 mentioned, nearly pooed my pants before reading it again...
  13. Well that's the thing. On modern cars or models that actually exist I think it's a bit dodgy. But I mean seriously, how many real 432's are you EVER going to see in your life? And we are the sort of people going to seek them out. Should we be depriving the world of Scotland history and just plain z coolness? It's a tough one...
  14. I know exactly what you're talking about mike. I really wouldn't want people to think that I am trying to dupe them that the car is a 432, the thing is, 99.9% of people wouldn't know what a 432 is, and I just really like the look of the badges on that paintwork! To 99.9% of people, it would just be a cool looking car with a cool looking badge that has some numbers...
  15. Hmmm yeah, i guess I didn't mean replica, but just a nod to its styling... although in saying that, the red of that badge on the orange really finishes it off! The colour I was after in the first place (medium dark metallic grey) wouldn't look too modern, but my whole design ethos based around that colour was that I was going to add modern touches... I still have a bit to think over i think!
  16. Now I think of it... it would be very close to the colour of Mossy's car!
  17. For some reason i am starting to consider that giving my Z an old school look rather than a modern dark grey look might be the way to go. I really like the styling and colour choice that the 432 has (awesome orange with those red badges!). What are peoples opinions on 432 replica's, especially considering that I will be doing it to a 260 (the early one mind you). Is the standard 432 colour 918? From most of the pictures I have seen that is quite orange, but I don't think it's 920 because that seems far too baby shiver colour... I think the colour I'm after is somewhere in between... something close to this pic, but with more yellow perhaps? One positive for going this colour is that the paintjob should be cheaper, and I might even consider doing it myself due to having no metallic element. Would save big bucks... What are your thoughts?
  18. If I had room for it I'd be all over it! The 280zx was the first car that got me into the Z's before I really liked cars as a kid i saw one of these in a dealer for something cheap like 3k and I could visualise myself in it because it was so reasonable.... Good luck with the sale mate, they're a super cool car.
  19. Would love to, but in Prague. (Just wanted to make everyone jealous)
  20. Fantastic story! Bloody pisses me off when people drive stupidly! This is the exact reason why I'm going to get one of those go pro car cams to run constantly while I drive. Good luck with it, rat rod z's are my second favourite look
  21. I'll be selling my set that I have done up pretty soon. Shame it would cost so much to get them shipped up from Melbourne. ..
  22. I just bought some seats and they look amazing! I got them for a decent bargain so you need to keep your eye out to get a set for around the 500 mark.
  23. I'd love, and realistically can see a vq35 in mine one day. They don't cost a whole heap, and have a ton of power. But would be a little tricky to install over a L28et.
  24. Lol for 2-3k l28et would be the only thing close and you would still find it tight on that budget.
  25. 30:00 in is interesting! Can't explain it myself, but worth a watch...
