  1. How the F do you drive without a reverse gear!?!?! Don't tell me you put your leg out the door!!!
  2. This is true... Eh you know what they say about hindsight! At least I will be able to very safely say I have one of the most rust free Z's in the country!
  3. Fair point. They can't just be hammered on from behind? Obviously with something soft up front so the chrome isn't damaged.
  4. Hmm plastic printing. .. Yeah it just peeves me that someone spent all their time covering up all the rust holes with fiberglass instead of spending a bit longer doing it properly. Now I have to inspect every bloody nook and cranny that isn't just metal.
  5. What do we think of this... I just printed and cut this out, but I think I'll resize it and reposition and make it out of metal or something alike.
  6. Ahah. Thanks Pete. It looks as though these guys might have what I'm after, although I couldn't see it on their website...
  7. Ok good. Was starting to think that I was wasting my time. Every time I did a bit of welding I'd uncover more bodged up rust. :/
  8. Hery guys, as you probably know I just bought a new set of s2000 seats from my 260. I am now looking to make them look as close as possible to period correct seats. I am a big fan of the chrome grommet / vent look, but I am not sure where I could find them. Anyone have any idea? Chanks!
  9. Huh, just realised I didn't chuck up last weekends work. This one looks much better in real life. I guess I could still grind it back a bot more too... Who's been walking on my sheet metal!? Hey! Look what else I found!!! :/ Just out of curiosity, how many peoples cars were worse than this? Would my car happen to be in the top 10% of rusted areas?
  10. funnily enough the rust is at the top where it's a flat panel... Wouldn't take much more than an hour to fix but I'll chuck this picture up anyway.
  11. lol I said srs instead of serious Yeah I think it would look good on a muscly ratrod Z I still haven't ruled louvers out for mine yet!
  12. Srs? It looks bloody brutal! I've always thought nicely designed louvers were tuff.
  13. Just bought these shmexeh thangs! Need a little work, but when I'm done with them they'll look pretty darn legit!
  14. If anyone's interested, I ended up with these; Very happy!
  15. Sorry Tai, I just realised that there is a very small amount of rust in them (in a very easy spot) so it sounds as though it's not what you're after...
  16. Woot, going to pick up some s2000 seats up tomorrow for $500. They aren't 100% perfect as they have a few leather cracks, but I think I can repair them to look new without too much work. Strangely their "black" leather is more like a very dark grey, so a dyeing may be on the cards to match the jet black of my interior.
  17. Woweez Vivek! I gotta come check this out some time! I remember right back to when you had the 2+2. You've certainly cained me on the progress front, and what an amazing car you've now got! I gotta keep welding!
  18. I have 3 guards at the moment. 1 that is near perfect and 2 that need a little repair, but for the right price I could repair them myself... I'll take a picture for you tomorrow.
  19. Still pretty hard to find under $500 and seeing as though they don't come in leather I'd then have to add on reupholstering...
  20. Wow they look toight! I'll keep an eye out for these too.
  21. I got one (can't remember which side) in pretty good nick. Would 1 be enough
  22. There are tons of them around... just really not sure if they're any good... I'd more than likely re trim them anyway. I have found some fairly aesthetically worn recaro SR3's on fleabay for $300, so I'll have a look at them and if they are structurally fine I'll buy them and get them retrimmed. Otherwise, I looked at some S2000 seats today, which by the way are very decent for a sporty stock seat which was around $600 but had a bit of cracking, so I'd have to re-dye it (it's supposed to be black, but as i found out it's really a very, very dark grey. So I'd just redye it black to make sure it matches my interior).
  23. Not to be appearing dodgy, but I really don't think anyone could tell that the rails have been modified once the seats are in. Also, unless they completely break up for some reason I don't see how insurance could try and void my claim for it. Anyway, this is something that I'll get Lurch or someone alike to fab up for me so I am 100% sure that it's up to and exceeding spec.
  24. Hmm sounds expensive.... i guess I'll get in touch with one and see what they think.... do you mean like modifying the metal shell? That sounds way less legal than changing to another cars per seats. good suggestion though!
  25. Just get them from the us. Will work out the same price if you can find them here and takes around a week to get here...
