  1. Can you get this kit in Gal? I'm pretty sure Lurch knew of someone that purchased one...
  2. Jeepers, only been a couple of months since i last got pinged...
  3. Ooooooh i was thinking of getting one of these. I think Lurch knew about them...
  4. Was a really great drive the other day guys, I'm glad i could make it! I'm really hoping that I didn't get pinged by that camera.... but pretty sure i did :'(
  5. Shouldn't be too hard to make up???
  6. and i got myself an MR2 because it was cheap reliable performance, and it looks damn sexy. But it still can't beat a z. You have the facts, now it's all you.
  7. If you're willing to pay for it, why not!? Most of the mod cons that are on cars today can be fitted if needed (although some would take a very decent amount of time and money). If you view it this way; a decent daily driver brand new costs you $30k, If you got yourself a decent 2+2 to start with for 10k, spent another 20k on seats, shocks, brakes, air-con, power steering, engine rebuild/ swap, dynamat, remote locking, stereo etc. You would have the best looking daily driver out there and guess what, it wont depreciate! (over a long period of time). Just depends if you can put up with the teething problems and the time and effort to get it all setup the way you want... When the FT86 came out i was so in love and thought that I had to have one, but then i realised, for 30 something thousand, i could have my dream car instead!
  8. Yup, I'm surpised that the guy could cut a profit out of them considering all the work he did to them... He'd have to have bought them for around $100 for it to be worth his time and money...
  9. Malaysia! The guy fully reconditioned them. The only part that doesn't look brand new is the mirror and the mirror surrounds. He used new made up parts for the spring mech at the bottom and got the thing stripped and re painted. They look pretty darb fine! If they are the legit product, I think i got a pretty good deal at $400??? (seems that the going price for these now are ridiculous!)
  10. Pretttttty sure these are the right ones. Damn you have to shell out a bit to get the legit product...
  11. Yeah I'm definitely in. I'll be letting the 6 banger theme down by bringing the MR2... Can i just ask... seeing as though i have never been on one of these... Is this so called "cracking pace" going to cause and issue with current probationary licence status, if say we were to meet a car that, oh lets say, had flashy flashy lights on the top? Or is it more for those who like to sight-see a huge line of traffic behind them? Looking forwards to it guys!
  12. Interested... Love to know the price.
  13. Phew, pretty sure i do have the right ones then. I'll post a pic in a bit to just triple check. One of the giveaways is the little flick on the inside bit of the stalk at the bottom. The 510 version has a much larger flick than the Z ones.
  14. Mine were reco-ed so it could have been either... uhhhh if it was 98mm surely thats the same as 10cm??? (depends where you measure from) I thought the difference was a little more than that...
  15. Just bought a pair of Z fender mirrors that have been reconditioned. Just checking that what i got is actually the Z ones and not the 510 ones. the stalk length of mine are somewhere around 10cm (long side). Reaaaaaaaaaally hoping that what I got is the real deal :/
  16. I recon I'd be able to make it... of course Z-less
  17. They look amazing, not sure if they'd suit the Z, but i hope so!
  18. Jeepers, I'm not looking forward to getting to this part of the build...
  19. Bought it from the guy who moved my car to the blasters. He needed the space badly, so I jumped on it. i was nearly peeing myself when he told me he had a 2 seater! I was pretty disappointed when it wasn't, but bought it never the less. If i was half intelligent I'd be using the near perfect 2+2, but what can i do!
  20. No couldn't leave you hanging there after you guys seemed so interested! I have moved sideways with the plan for this car and gone and bought myself a MIG! Sure it's going to take me about 10 times longer to do it than Lock, and it will be 10 times worse a job, but it saves me about 5 times the money, and if i do my maths, thats a lot of.... Times? Anyway, going to teach myself how to do this all. After reading up on some suggestions and hints I'll sit myself down at a scrap panel and do as much practicing as i can before i touch the old girl. As far as replacement panels go, i have bought/ replaced; -Right side floor panel (mayyyy do left too) -both doglegs -floor sills (under the doors) -fenders Still need; -Hatch sill -bonnet -doors (oh god this is the part I'm not looking forward to finding) -Left rail end -seat rail supports -(plus lots of other random bits that I'll have to make up myself)
  21. LOLOLOOLLOLOOLOLL. So ah, where can i buy one of these???
  22. with a maximum of 14 you'll have a mighty fine 2+2.
  23. All I'm saying is, I'm after the volk TE37 look. If Rota will make up 5 sets for 4k then i keep one of them and sell the other 4 off, not really that crazy... I know that noone makes a rim in 8" with -50 offset, juts wondering if there was some way around the spacer laws (ie. welding or bolting etc etc.) I know now.
  24. I'm half considering when I've finished my 2 seater and i need a more practical daily driver than my MR2 I might get a cheap running 2+2 and swap over a modern engine in it. 2+2's almost have no collectors value to them (ie. a similar condition and age Camry would be worth as much) which i find astounding, but wonderful for us that want a Z on a budget .
