  2. Hi gang, I'm about ready to put money down on a car (around the 12k mark for a 2+2) and I'm having a bit of a moment. Am I kidding myslef that a Z would make a useable daily? Its mostly stock. My wife and I take bikes to work but the car still does 10000-15000k a year. What are your personal experiences? Am I setting myself up for disappointment? I don't mind working on the car, but not every weekend. Thoughts? Thanks Unsure Will
  3. I'm hearing you there mate, but with 40 deg days and a fair skinned wife who needs the shade of a tinted window, no option. Thanks for the help everyone. Thinking I might buy it as a kit, see what is redeemable and fit vintage air if it's all junk.
  4. Hi all, I couldn't find to much on the previous posts about this. I'm looking at a 2 + 2 that seems perfect but has no air (I'm not sure it ever did). The gentleman selling it has a genuine a/c kit which he can get fitted. He thinks this will be around $1000-1500 inc his kit, labor and regas expenses, which will include a change of refrigerant type. I have some questions about this. 1) Is that a fair price? 2) What should I offer for the kit alone if I want to fit it myself? 3) How difficult/time consuming are they to fit? (I don't doubt my ability, just my patience) 4) How well does stock a/c work? 5) Is there a better way to get a/c for $1500? Phew..... I clearly have too many questions.. Thanks again, this is by far the friendliest and most helpful forum I have ever been on.
  5. Thanks mate
  6. Hi guys, I'm looking at a 260z that has been fitted with an L28 and a 5 speed Skyline box (with a custom made tailshaft). The owner did not do the mod so he cant tell which model skyline it came from, just that it is longer than a z box. I have no idea of the diff ratio either, but it was being prepared as a tarmac rally car before the owner lost interest. Anything I should know/worry about this gearbox? Thanks Will
  7. Thanks We drove that was yesterday. That's how the bug bit ! Sadly she has had a badly repaired big front hit and is rather bent. Sad because the yellow paint was perfect.
  8. That's great news! It's so good to see her this excited! Thanks everyone
  9. I had that ad bookmarked to email tomorrow! Would you mind emailing some more photos to will@wybc.org.au? Engine and interior etc. Thank you
  10. Haha, I glad to see I'm not alone I just threw the wanted add up but hoping around 10, capable of going to 14 ish. We looked at one today but the bent RF rail was..... off putting.
  11. Hi all, New member (left an intro post if you care to see it) Looking to buy a 260z 2 + 2. Ready to drive required. Prefer manual but hey, try me. Factory aircon (even if not functioning) a HUGE plus. Not fussed don color etc but would like it to be good paint. No set budget but I think I will be tapping out at around 14k ish. Prepared to travel for the right car. Car is a gift to a great wife Anyone have anything?
  12. Hi all, Just saying hi. Name is Will, I'm a motorcycle mechanic/parts guy who has given up the trade and became a Youth Pastor instead. About to become a Z owner and very excited. My beautiful wife let me quit work (8 weeks after we got back form honeymoon!) and payed my way through a 3 year uni qualification so I'm paying her back by buying her the one car she has wanted forever! A 260z 2 + 2. Joining for help finding a car and will be staying for community and helping out where I can. Thanks for having me! Will PS. Please forgive the 2nd post being a wanted ad neediness!
