    As mentioned above, for your engine price, I recommend you get a good catalogue of pics together to itemise the parts. but your price sounds quite reasonable. Diffs might be priced a little high if they are single spinners but if they are lsd then double your figure. Gearbox sounds very cheap to me if it has had a full rebuild.     What viscosity oil are you currently running? Is the gauge reading 1/3 when the oil is both cold and hot? Maybe chuck a known gauge on in place of the sender unit to be confident about the pressure under different conditions. This would eliminate: A dodgy sender Possible poor electrical connection A dodgy gauge Good luck. Mick

    Yep that looked reasonably terrifying. Now excuse the Newb question but what do you do with tyres that have been flat spotted? Are they throw aways? Or can you drive the flat spots out? I have heard of people doing big burnout to get them round again. As well as having them "turned down" that's probably not the right terminology though. Are these just wives tales or what? I'm interested because I have 2 flat spotted RE11 semis from a heart stopping moment on turn 1 @ EC not so long ago.

    Very neat and tidy Dave. Have you considered painting / powder coating the lines? I have seen a build thread in Ozdat with black powder coated brake lines in a white 1600 engine bay, they look pretty shmick. I don't want to give you more things to do and slow your progress down but...Just a thought! Keep up the great work Mick

    I'm intrigued by the rear camera concept. My experience is that the front bumper and nose of bonnet are always the ones to suffer parking damage not the rear of the car. Are you placing a camera on the front too?? Nice number plate mount though.

    Haha. Is that really a timing chain wedge or actually a tool commonly found in the top drawer of the bed side table, just a convenient shape?

    I think 5-8 would be pretty close. I think the recommended allowance for thermal expansion is about 0.5% for Perspex (given a 50' temp change). Assuming 1m width would give 5mm. Another concern for Perspex is the long term moisture absorption, recommended allowance for expansion is about 0.3%. Worked on a project just recently with Perspex Impressive write up AK.     Gav I have no disagreement that the owner may have spent the asking price and possibly more. I just don't think there is a large audience willing to part with 78 big ones for an S30 let alone 260. If it were an early girl in full patina with 8000 miles on the clock and no resto I might start to humour the 78k price tag. Just my 2 bob. Will be interesting to watch the sale though

    I run the King low Springs. Kdfl08 & kdrl09. They are pretty good for the street but a little soft for track work. These springs are not captive which is a little inconvenient but not the end of the world. Good luck in your search. Plenty of opinions on this topic.
